Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

S/V had potential and I do like the game but the technical issues and the seemingly barren overworld really held it back for me. The characters are pretty forgettable too imo. This might be a hot take but I want another asshole rival like Blue or Silver. Also its really odd that nintendo got customization right on the first try but now you have to go to 8 different stores. It sucks that a series I've grown up with since FireRed is steadily getting worse
This has never been a hot take as far as I can tell. I would love to once more have a rival you just want to beat into the dirt because they couldn't stop running their stupid mouths.
I am surprised that Bede apparently does not qualify.

As for the "Woke" stuff, they did away with Male/Female options, so you have Troon streamers able to make the weird fetish characters they've always wanted.

And a bunch of the in-game models might as well be MtF troons. They have "Females" with man-faces and biceps bigger than their heads, and they have a huge number of the men looking like effeminate soyboys.

It's not overt yet, but you can tell it's starting to take hold somewhere in Gamefreak.
It's not...too overt yet, but between getting rid of "are you a boy or a girl" and an increase in niggers and particularly faggy characters, it's pretty clear they're flirting with it more and more. I think that Iono was also obvious trans bait.
I honestly think you guys are being paranoid. The "Troons" are just Gamefreak's awkward take at a muscular woman and I'm guessing they're just trying something new with the character customization (although, I don't have the game so I wouldn't know for sure).

As for the increase in black people: Wow! It's almost as if this game's region is based off of a country where non-whites are very prominent or something.

the game in a nutshell, notice the buff troon

Lol the face of that inflated trainer at the very back is avatar worthy.

I've ultimately decided I'm not buying the games and I will be honest and say I am biased in my views. After seeing some footage and gameplay I know I won't enjoy them even if I gave them a chance and I think unless Nintendo muscles in and gets a competent team on board (and remove shiny locks on pokemon you can actually catch/obtain in game as gifts/etc. - yes I'm still salty about it) I'm pulling out of modern pokemon. The series transformation into a normie franchise completed when they got Ed Sheeran on board to make some music for S/V.

I will check out some of the demakes people have made though. Some of them look really fun.

It wasn't a normie franchise until now? What about the whole pokemon craze back in the 1990s? Or the fact that this francise has had a dedicated following, be it adults or children, even through the rougher entries as of late?

Yeah, I've been seeing this all through the leak season with literally half of all revealed characters being called a tranny by both Reddit and 4chan, either rapturously or in disgust and it got old fast. The Reddit side obviously thinks that everything is their imagined representation and I always thought the more right-wing did so as a meme but a surprising amount actually seemed to sincerely believe it.

Lots of the character designs are ugly for sure, but Redditors need to stop coping and Channers need to stop dooming - it's 99% likely none of the characters are meant to be trans. As far as I know the shitty English translation team didn't even slip in bastardized mistranslations to project it as such.

Dunno where you are but in the UK people got over Pokemon pretty damn quick and if you like it you were mocked relentlessly until Pokemon Go came out. Back then most of the merch and ads were for things like Call of Duty and similar franchises. The only place to meet with other pokemon nerds over here was via the internet. You only had tiny selections when it came to merch or the trading cards as well and I'm pretty damn sure that's not what a normie franchise looks like.

Nowadays you have entire aisles of stores dedicated just to pokemon merch. I see more people out in the streets wearing pokemon-themed clothes than I ever saw as a kid. I see more ads dedicated to pokemon shit than I ever did as a kid.

Fair enough, but that was happening way before Scarlet and Violet though.

I still don't understand. I pick the character that's obviously a male and npcs correctly assume my character is a male. If I pick the character that's obviously a female, npcs assume my character is a female. Assuming genders based on physical characteristics is supposed to be a cardinal sin for trannies. The closest thing to trannies in the game are the large, muscular "women" but even then, they look like cartoonish freaks.

I believe the whole "pick your body type" thing is less tranny shit and more how Gamefreak is trying to ask you what your race is. It's ultimately up to you if you want to make your character look like a faggot/dyke. Your mother also starts off in the kitchen making you a sandwich. Considering all these points, one might also could make the argument that the game is incredibly based.
Kinda made me laugh how everyone praised this game for getting rid of gender but the game constantly refers you as "she" or "He". Kind of nice actually because I'm sick of games asking for you're characters gender and still calling you they.

Still pissed they didn't let us wear skirts though.

I’m not having any game crashes or debilitating bugs, just some pop ins and frame drops. Overall I’m really enjoying these games. This is everything the Wild Area wishes it was. I’m really liking just riding around and exploring, it’s nice that if I want to go fuck around in an area with level 50+ Pokémon while I have no badges and just my starter there’s nothing stopping me from catching them.

As for the character designs I don’t think they’re ‘troons’ but more like over the top jrpg/anime designs, which I personally enjoy. I don’t need or want super ultra realistic designs in my Pokémon or the trainers. It’s a silly goofy game, it’s going to have silly goofy character designs.

I skipped Legends but based on how much fun I’m having just running around exploring in Violet I’m seriously considering picking up Legends just for more ‘explore the pokéworld’ fun.

The game crashed on me around three or four times, but PLA also crashed on me so I'm used to it. SV is a mixed bag for me because it does have the best story in the series with a genuine twist (albeit slightly cliche) during the last campaign and interesting characters with the exception of the rival. I was actually touched when Arven revealed his motivation and I appreciate that Team Star are more anti-villain and I step up from Team Yell from the previous game.

Every playthrough of a Pokemon game I do, I seem to always encounter at least one shiny. Got Wurmple in PLA, just caught Bronzong in Violet, both while just exploring. I bring this up to show I know what a shiny encounter in both open world games is like, and it brings up a problem. I only noticed those 2 because I'm very familiar with their shiny color. They don't sparkle (I've seen claims they do, they don't until battle) or make any particular sound (Roaming Gimmighoul is a perfect example of how it could work). This really makes me wonder how many shinies I and many others have just outright missed because some are extremely subtle or blend in.

These games are selling like mad. In other news, water is wet.
