Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

I don't like the starters very much, to be honest. The kitten has a really boring design overall and the sea lion looks a little too goofy for my tastes (although I'll admit its artwork performing is kinda adorable). Based on first forms alone, I'd probably go with the owl; it has a stronger cute potential.

I wouldn't mind having the sea lion turn into something Water/Fairy (or even Water/Fighting; I could've sworn Samurott was that type, but, alas, it's not) and the cat into Fire/Ghost (maybe some reference to the nekomata, even though we already have Espeon sort of covering that). It'll be a little disappointing to see yet another Fire/Fighting type.

As for the legendaries, it feels like Pokemon is really going for more "mecha"-inspired designs. They do remind me somewhat of Digimon/Spectrobes, but I can't really complain about that. Personally, I'd like to get Moon for the vampiric thing. I do like them both, though, and I think they had good ideas for themes (bats and moons, lions and suns).

I'm gonna get moon because I'm a sucker for bats
Also gotta pick the water starter because it's a tradition. Personally I really like the little seal because he blows nose bubbles and has a lil' frilly. I think they should have decreased the nose size a little though because he is kind of goofy. I can see him maybe turning into a clown looking thing though because of the nose

The shiny Yveltal distribution is live now. Hoard 'em while you can.
I got mine this morning.
And I spent the past couple of days Legend Hunting. With Ido's help, I got the Alpha Sapphire legendaries and thus I've been able to get ones like Kyurem, Landorus, etc. I've also asked her to help me with getting Dialga, as I just caught palkia (with a timer ball no less) as well as help with Lugia (I just caught Ho-oh as well.

Between the reveal of having an grass owl starter and how badass the legendaries look, (particularly the Moon one. HOLY SHIT) I actually kinda want to get back into Pokemon this generation.

I don't think I've like any legendaries since Latios and Latias. I only liked Mewtwo because I was a kid.

My sister and I now want to get DSes for Sun and Moon. She wants Rowlet, while I want Litten.

From Serebii:

"For all players in North America, it has been announced that during June, if you have signed up for the Pokémon Trainer Club newsletter before June 1st, then you will receive a special Serial Code to receive Mew. This Mew is identical to the Mew given earlier this year and cannot be received if you already got that Mew."

If you missed the Mew event back in January, you can just make an account at the Pokemon Trainer Club (and be sure to specify that you want to be sent the newsletter) before June 1st. Earlier this year, they sent out the Legendary Bird Trio with their hidden abilities in the newsletter, so I think that it's worthwhile to sign up.

Nuzlocking through both Pokemon Black and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire at the same time.

The difficulty differences cross-gen have always been suspect to me (Assumed that maybe it's because I used Pokemon Amie so much that it was "easy" in gen 6)

But it's blatantly obvious that the difficulty bar all but fell off the rack in Gen 6. I'm hoping for the bar to be raised again in Gen 7. Even just a little bit.

I understand it's a franchise with children as a target audience, but going backwards and feeling the swift kick in the ass and the fear of facing certain gym leaders with your pre-knowledge being present, while the current gen is a snoozefest? Something went wrong.

And on the topic further of 7th gen, I'm definitely going to be getting Moon at some point. I tend to have a weakness for the Night theme of things (Even went for Digimon World Dusk back in the day). For a starter, the Owl currently has my heart since I love birds. But the full evolutionary branches will be the true seller as to whom I choose. I liked Froakie when he was first introduced, but I couldn't get over the ridiculous nature of his scarf-tongue and went with Fenniken as my fallback. A fantastic warlock fox!

Pokemon-Amie isn't what made the game easier. Apart from some random buffs (Fennekin loves you and dodged the attack!) it doesn't do much.

You should probably go into settings and turn of the shared exp. That's what makes it so easy! It's not even half exp for non-participating Pokemon, but full.

I had a hunch the legendaries would both be part psychic. The typings are nice, too; I don't think we've had many steel/psychic or ghost/psychic Poke'mon (the only ones coming to mind are Bronzor and Bronzong for steel/psychic and Hoopa for ghost/psychic).

And nice signature move animations. Still gunning for Poke'mon Moon to get Lunala, though I wish they would have explained it's ability.

Also, Rotom in your Poke'dex. That's adorable.

It's called "shadow shield" so perhaps it blocks out dark type attacks so it doesn't get absolute destroyed by them?
The other steel/psychic family is the Metagross line from gen 3.

From what I read, apparently it's a variation of Multiscale, which means damage is reduced on full HP. Also, I just wonder how the lion will separate itself from Metagross, considering it's not only sharing its typing, but also its ability (Full Metal Body is a variant of Clear Body, from what I'm seeing here). Either way, this is still looking badass.

Ah right, forgot about that line. Whoops.

I hope their abilities aren't carbon-copies of other ones but under a different name. I'm hoping there's some sort of additional effect with these abilities rather than being a Clear Body and Multiscale duplicate. Perhaps some sort of typing element to them? Shadow Shield does seem like it might help hinder Dark or Ghost type attacks based on the name, which would help Lunala from getting utterly destroyed by those. Full Metal Body might prevent status reductions and maybe allow boosted defenses of some sort?

I dunno, I just want them to have a little more buff to them I guess. It seems silly to me they'd give legendaries abilities that exist on "common" Poke'mon but just slap a new title over them for the sake of making them sound unique.

So the Pokemon that represents the sun is weak to fire and the Pokemon that represents the moon is weak to dark.

....lolwhat the sun Pokemon, the sun being a giant burning ball of fire, isn't fire, and the moon which is generally more noticeable at night isn't a dark type. Gamefreak logic.

Also who wants to trade pogeys? It doesn't have to be anything special, I just like collecting Pokemon off different people.
