Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
> Riley Wren: "Pokemon is supposed to be an escape for us."
> Leftists: 'ALL ALLRST IS PYOLICITICAL!!!!! NO POLITICS IS A PRIVILEDCE TO THOSE WHO DO NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT EXISTING AND VILIVNGF!!!!! THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS JUST ESCAPE!!!'
What’s really chilling is that WPM or one of his mods is apparently deleting comments on the article that aren’t in support of the affected trannies or aare critical of TPCi supporting the LGBTQIABYOBB+ community.

EDIT: The comments section has been locked, what a bunch of pansies.

On the topic of my theoretical hack, I should bring up how adapting Switch games to the GBC will change things.
  • If Null ets me, then Ditto would Transform into the Kiwi Farms logo instead of the Game Freak logo. The text under the logo shall be changed accordingly.
  • Because of the complexity involved, I plan on getting rid of the intro movie. The official games kip to the title screen, anyways.
  • Because I am basing the games off pokegold instead of pokecrystal, there is no gender select. Instead, each game has a boy patch and a girl patch. (This at least lets me use real pronouns, anyways.)
  • There are n outfit shops. I might give the towns an actual population, though.
  • Though classes will still be there, they will not give any EXP Candies, since I think tha they make the games too easy. Very hard questions will result in Rare Candies, though.
  • If I could, I would se the current Raidon to the Select Button.
    • At first, the Raidon is equivalen to the Bicycle.
    • Getting the Sweet Herb gives you and the Raidon Running Shoes, making the Raidon a Mach Bicycle.
    • Getting the Bitter Herb gives the Raidon Surf. Just walk to the water.
    • Getting the Salty Herb gives the Raidon Ledge Leap. Just walk to the ledge.
    • Getting the Sour Herb gives the Raidon Fly. Use the map in the PokéGear.
    • Getting the Spicy Herb gives the Raidon Rock Climb and Waterfall. Just walk to the wall.
    • There is no Cut, Strength, Flash, and Whirlpool in the overworld.
  • Because Titan Pokémon are not supposed to be caught, they are their own Trainer class. This also works around the lack of Double Battles that make the False Dragon team work; they would be a team of Tatsugiri and Dondozo.
  • There is no sandwich-making here. In fact, aside Mom' Sandwich, I say that Sandwiches might only be in cutscenes.
  • There is no crafting here, either.
  • Instead of relying on Let's Go mode, you engage in proper battles, but you are under the Bug-Catching Contes timer. If you fail, you have to battle all of the trainers all over again.
  • There are no Gym puzzles. The gyms are more straightforward without any real gimmicks.
  • Because Facade is not in this game, I wonder what Normal-type move does Larry's TM give...
  • Obviously, the Gym and League teams are changed, since a lot of the Pokémon tha they would have used are not in this hack. I like the idea of Katy being the player's introduction to the betamon in this game.
  • I shall hold off Pokémon placement until after The Indigo Disk gets released, at least, since Kitakami and the Blueberry Academy are definitely going to be home to a lot of 'new' ild Pokémon.
  • I actually plan on making Magikarp, Tentacool, and Zubat rare and out of the way, since players must be tired of encountering them and actually ge triggered upon seeing them. They are only in the hack because of thei relations to their Paradox formes here.
  • Trading will be unnecessary, though. Unobtainable Pokémon would instead be very rare Pokémon, which is the same strategy that Pokémon Red Star and Blue Star uses.
  • There is a secret box that holds the current Raidon i normal play and the curren team when agains the AI. Ideally, this would be separate space, but I may have to use one of the actual boxes and hide that from view, instead.
There may be more changes, but, once again, I am going by other people's accounts of the games.

I don't really care about all the Dexit and politics sperging ITT, so let's just post our favorite Pokémon instead. for me, it's Hydreigon

love this little fella, probably my favorite pseudo in the series. I don't even care that he has a quad Fairy weakness, he still kicks major ass

He can at least get rid of that said 4x Fairy weakness, with Tera types. I did want to see a Mega Evolution for him, which eliminates the said 4x Fairy weakness somehow, given that he, Goodra, and Dragonite were the only psuedo-legendaries (I think?) to not get a Mega form back in Gen 6.

Did I do it right

Haxorus and Sandslash are tied for first place. The first was basically my starter in one of my favorite games and the latter just has a flawless design and carried me through a ROM hack I really enjoyed.

Immaculate taste
Best pseudo, hands down
absolutely criminal that he was robbed of a decent Paradox even if I still like Jugulis, it's hard to deny that it's an incredibly wasted opportunity. Even the lazy route of just reverting it to its beta form as a tank dragon would've been cooler!

I’ll always have a soft spot for Tyranitar. Is he bad, kinda yeah, will I go out of my way to get a Larvitar as soon as possible in every game that line is in, also yes. Sometimes you see a Big Fuck Off Monster, and it somehow becomes a core memory. Least this Gen Superpower isn’t as common to run into, and the gimmick means I might not die to a Fighting Type existing…

I don’t know if it’s an unpopular opinion but I love the general art direction of gen 5. Not just the Pokemon but the human characters and Unova itself. I see a lot of demonization of the generation and its designs” not being grounded” but if anything it’s more grounded than the literal Poke Gods and the main villains’s plot attempt to reset the universe of gen 4.

from what I've seen, people rag on Gen 5's Pokémon designs mainly because some of them are retreads of general concepts from Gen 1 (like Trubbish & Garbodor basically being Unovan Grimer & Muk, or Throh & Sawk being copies of Hitmon-lee/chan).
as for the human characters, idk. some might consider the gen's female MCs to be coomerbait, but that's all I can really think of in terms of complaints.

Electivire, magmortar and porygon Z were also pseudo legendaries with a ton of cards being made for them back in the day and being unobtainable in one copy of the games without trading.

Since you already got Hydreigon out of the way, I wanna bring up Torterra instead.
A giant turtle with a forrest on its shell is just an objectively cool monster design.

Wait... how is Jugulis an incredibly wasted opportunity?

See this face.

It's a suicide bomber in the body of a cute little kitten. Look me in the eye, and tell me that isn't the greatest thing GameFreak has ever made.
*looks at you in the eye*
That isn't the greatest thing GameFreak has ever made.

Myself, I am partial to Heatran. I feel that I am the only one who cares about him.

Fire Red Rocket Edition

it's literally just Hydreigon
It's just Hydreigon with a coat of metal paint and severed limbs
They did absolutely nothing new with it- didn't even change its color scheme, didn't give it a better typing, nothing
I like Hydreigon, so I like Jugulis, but it's the most laughable excuse for a Paradox since Iron Moth and Scream Tail and I genuinely thought those were the absolute bottom of the barrel when they first leaked
Even when Scream was just a pair of yellow eyes

don't worry, if you were around in the competitive metagame 10+ years ago you'd be surrounded by likeminded people

...I wan to put your ideas of Future Hydreigon in a different version of my hack, now.

...in a competitive scene, yes, but not Heatran the character himself.
