b-bros...?
KF isn't letting me thumbnail because the connection is terrible right now; took me an hour and a half to send this. Sorry Null, will fix when the connection becomes a bit better

I tried to look up info on that Gmmieghoul raid and ended up Reddit where they have r/Pokemon decked out in fucking pride shit. I hate the antichrist and I hope Reddit dies in it's current crisis.

Oh, also I found out the info I wanted on YouTube - on top of the item bugs already stated in the thread the shiny rate is the base tera shiny rate which is WORSE than the regular shiny rate at 1 in 4000! El Oh Fucking El, it's not worth even bothering with this shit.

base shiny rate is 4096, tera shiny is 4103.5 because of a bug- it's not that drastic a difference, but it is in fact hilarious otherwise
otherwise, I am sorry brother
at least we have KF, where we can hate the antichrist together without getting his dick shoved down our throats

I recently found ou that, while the pokeoctober hack uses the compatibility-breaking MBC30, the pokecrystal16 hack does not. That means that 16-bit indeces are very likely in my hack, which would mean that I would be able to put all the moves I wan there.
On the Pokémon choices, though, I might either stick wi the reduced Pokédex or simply append the new mon to the 251 that are already there.

heard the DLC for the new game has a trainer that is "racist" against foreigners.

this is all that they're going off of btw
one sentence at the end of her two-sentence personality description
she's not so much "racist" as much as she is judgmental, from what we've seen, but... coomers :(

I know I keep sperging about names in this thread - and I admit it's my own fault for not watching the show after the first season - but fucking /ɪlu:mi:zeɪ/? Really? Show me a native English speaker who claims they didn't pronounce Illumise as /ɪl(j)u:maɪz/ without hearing it and I'll show you a liar.

Imagine having your reality shattered by the fucking Hoenn Pokérap of all things.

I'm not a liar :(
then again, I pronounced Mienshao as My-en-shao and Yveltal as Why-vel-tal, so maybe I just shouldn't be listened to
Now that I'm over my initial surprise I can see people pronouncing it /ɪlu:mi:z/ (rhymes with Louise) but if you honestly intuited the extra syllable on the end, like Illumis then I'm genuinely impressed.

After my last post I watched this video. I now know how to pronounce every Pokémon's name up to the end of Generation V. On the flipside I can now believe anything about pronunciation in these games. You could tell me that Hoenn is pronounce like Hallowe'en and I would 100% believe you.
what if I told you Chien-Pao is pronounced Shien-Poo

I won't continue to fill up the thread with IPA symbols. Suffice to say Milotic's true pronunciation was another shock to the system. And I now know for sure that Arceus is pronounced with a k sound (that doesn't mean I have to like it, though).

I won't pronounce Numel like numb-ul, though. They'll have to pry nooml from my cold, dead hands.

So a few days ago I finished replaying Platinum which was the first time in like 10 years that I played one of the Sinnoh games and felt like posting about it.

I just decided I'd go for a normal playthrough without any fancy rules but it almost turned into an unintended mono Ground run. My final team was
Torterra Lv 51, Drifblim Lv 49, Gliscor (MVP) Lv 52, Hippowdon Lv 50, Quagsire Lv 51 and Drapion Lv 50. But by the time I picked up on how many Ground types I had, I got too attached to Drifblim to slot it out for a gimmick (despite it being the weakest link tbh) and I really wanted to try out Drapion.
I did play on set mode though and it made the Ice gym especially pretty nasty, I had to cross fingers for Blizzard misses from Froslass to get through with Drapion and Quag.
Sinnoh itself was incredibly comfy to revisit, I was surprised by how much I still remembered about the game or specific mechanics or changes from later gens but I guess you don't unlearn this stuff this easily :|
The dreaded Gen 4 engine or HMs weren't that bad, I got by just fine assigning each mon one HM except Cut at the beginning where I used a slave briefly (Bidoof Lives Matter won't like hearing this).
The biggest grievance was probably Team Galactic. I generally never liked the evil teams for how intrusive they get with the pacing and boring grunt battles but it was especially bad here where I had nothing to quickly get rid off the many Golbats and Bronzors spamming Confuse Ray:\ *sigh*
It actually gave newfound appreciation for Team Star in S/V who didn't slow the game down as much.
But the finale was great, I was several levels under the E4 and Cynthia and they all put up a solid fight except for the Ground member ironically.
Hippowdon's sand Glscor's Sand Veil made for a nasty combo that cheesed a good part of the Cynthia battle until her Garchomp came in and hit its Dragon Rushes without any issues
Good thing I had Ice Beam on Quag.

All in all this was a really pleasant nostalgia trip and if I get around to replaying one of the 3ds games (I have not touched any of them since release) I'd like to do an actual mono type run with either Dark or Ground.

You've kind of stolen my thunder because I've been doing this exact thing with Diamond, for the first time since 2007 when it came out.

I've been playing the Game Corner and, while I may be preaching to the choir, just on the off-chance anyone from PEGI reads this:

There isn't a single person alive now who would be worse off if you had never been born. Nothing you touch is better off for your actions. Your mother made a grievous error by giving birth to you. It is not too late to rectify her mistake.

Arceus was cooler when they were a hidden pokemon you had to literally break the game to get.
