...What the fuck are you talking about? Gems, aside from the normal one I talked about, are not present in Gens past 5. At all. Are you retarded or have you not played the games? It would have taken you 5 seconds to search up whether typed gems were still in generations newer than 5 before you made this post. Or another 10 to confirm that VGC still does regional dex -> national dex (to the best of their abilities given the current situation of the games). But you didn't. So it's no surprise that you're also retarded enough to think that most people play Pokémon mostly for competitive reasons.
The fact there is not a Rusted Cap in the games yet is real annoying.I'm a simple man, I don't ask for much except for a new bottlecap that lowers IVs to 0.
All of these aspects are exactly why I find gen 7's metagame to be so uninteresting. Pokemon like Ash-Greninja, Ultra Beasts, Tapu terrain abilities, and Z-crystals all have power crept gimmicks that make them incredibly powerful compared to most other Pokemon. Yes counterplay exists, but it doesn't change the fact that these easy to use power crept mons are going to be the most common threats you're going to be playing against in competitive (at least in OU), and I find that lack of variety to be incredibly dull. It's not even the players fault since they're playing to win, the fact that it's like this is reflective of Game Freaks shitty balancing and mentality that these new Pokemon need to be comically more powerful than existing mons, which has only gotten worse with gens 8 and 9. Agree to disagree I guess.I disagree, that is a very shallow way of looking back at the S/M meta. Sure, Tapus and Megas were everywhere, but the counters for them were at an all time high. You had so many Pokemon that could kick their ass, even if they needed a Z-Crystal, and you are also forgetting we were introduced to Ultra Beasts as well. Very interesting Pokemon that had their extremes highlighted and focused on, making them either incredibly hard to faint or incredibly hard to stop them steamrolling you, especially when Beast Boosts started rolling in. Honorary mention goes to Ash-Greninja, who is kind of like an Ultra Beast thanks to it's stat spread and the enormous stat boost when it gets a KO. You had to look deeper to make sure you weren't running the same set as everybody else, but then again
S/M was hard to get into, as the meta Pokemon were incredibly easy to use and could easily defeat an unprepared team.
To be fair, OU is often the most boring tier since that's where all the sweats are, plus only a few viable teams. It's the lower tiers where the fun is, that or Ubers.Yes counterplay exists, but it doesn't change the fact that these easy to use power crept mons are going to be the most common threats you're going to be playing against in competitive (at least in OU), and I find that lack of variety to be incredibly dull
I thought they were okay. The chibi art style in the over world kind of gives a sense of the original GB games, the battle artwork is decent, Ranmas park is a good way of scooping up legendary if its your first game in the series and it let's you get the first 400 Pokémon in the pokedex. The underground is kinda samey but all the Mons in the underground have a chance to know their egg moves and have hidden abilities so its also away to min max building Pokémon. Are the Pearl/Diamond remakes any good? Never got to play those at the time and i kinda forgot they got remade
Right before this they pissed spergs off by changing the colors they use for their infoboxes, too.
I get the rationale that it'd be weird to train to lower stats, but in that case can't they reintroduce massages and grooming (no not the tranny kind) from previous gens to serve that purpose? And maybe throw in a slight happiness boost while you're at it.The fact there is not a Rusted Cap in the games yet is real annoying.
Only real downgrade is no platinum contentans worse beauty contests but honestly how many people played the beauty contests. I liked the gameAre the Pearl/Diamond remakes any good? Never got to play those at the time and i kinda forgot they got remade
I feel like the gameplay loop is fun in a comfy way to do sometimes. I skip over all dialogue. The map and graphics could be better, and most Max Raid battles are a pain which got old a while ago.Shrodingers generation: simultaneously the most "dick sucked" generation while also being the most "hated" generation. The only way to know is to play the damn game.
It is very glitchy and underwhelming. Unless you absolutely need the Fairy typing, you're better off just playing Platinum. That's literally the only change that's worth anything over the originals, and I am sure you can find a ROMhack that gives you that too for Platinum. If you're looking for worthwhile changes that you would see in a remake like HGSS or ORAS, don't bother it's mostly downgrades. Are the Pearl/Diamond remakes any good? VGC is absolutely a meme though, I don't know how anybody can take this shit seriously.

Isn't Pokemon's scene full of cheaters like Wolfe? I heard there's a lot of scummy shit going on in competitive Pokemon whether it's the card games or the video games themselves. Pokemon Go's battle leagues have nothing, but cheaters (spamming 7 charge moves without even doing anything and seeing your roster before matches start).VGC is known for having really samey teams, yes, but the intrigue is in who is going to use them the best. Since most top tier players are so used to the meta mon, you can play mind games with them or bring out something completely out of the left field(one guy paired up a Garchomp with a Pachirisu in an official tournament and btfo his opponent, for example). It's an acquired taste, but people involved in it are definitely lolcows.
Hardcore PvPfags and their enablers are always a blight on any community as they are almost always militant cheaters going out of their way to shill their cheats and conduct preciousleaf level trolling whenever people rightly point out their bullshit regardless of the game.Isn't Pokemon's scene full of cheaters like Wolfe? True, but from what I'm seeing the big cheaters in the Pokemon are protected by the community. TPC doesn't give two rat's asses about the rampant cheating in their games from what it looks like. I remember there was a some guy (possibly a furry) who was trying to expose Wolfe cheating with other people in events, but the community attacked him for trying to expose Wolfe.Hardcore PvPfags and their enablers are always a blight on any community as they are almost always militant cheaters going out of their way to shill their cheats and conduct preciousleaf level trolling whenever people rightly point out their bullshit regardless of the game.
That's pretty lame considering Gen4's dex is small and can't hold on it's own without the past Pokemon for support. I think the only other dex that's small compared to the others is Gen6 last i checked unless the last few games has small dex's too.It is very glitchy and underwhelming. The big problem isn't even the execution, 4th Gen games are not outdated like Gens 1-3 are, so they barely needed a remake. If they let you play around with Gen 5-8 Pokemon then maybe it would have been worth it, but they didn't even do that so you can own any Pokemon that's in the files of BDSP in the original DS titles. They didn't even bother to port over regional forms of existing Pokemon that were in Gen 4, like Let's Go games did.
