Not really. You're sitting indoors on a computer all day anyway and most developer repositories can be accessed remotely by developers these days. Also most modern game engines also support this as a selling point like Unreal Engine does with remote collaboration.

The more vocal ones were either because they lost their jobs over the militant pushing for the jab or just being the typical faggot drama queen over Twitter as usual. Anyone that unironically says this shit and works in gamedev were just using covid as a socially acceptable excuse to not get any work done and ban people on discord all day and only got the job through sheer nepotism. Fortunately most companies cut these retards loose after COVID and that's how we got the likes of the MCC being fixed like it was in short order.

On a happier note I have been playing Pokemon Clover and I'm having a blast! While I'm not happy with the halved shiny odds I don't think I've ever had so much fun losing battles in a game.

It’s mentioned in the Bulba article on Pokérus, the RNG isn’t permitted to generate X values of 8 and 0 for Pokérus. As far as the bug’s concerned it’s how Pokérus with an X value of 0 behaves once it’s cured from a Pokémon, it appears as if it was never infected to begin with.

Indeed. It’s why I’m interested to see how PLZA goes and Gen X because it’s clear there was dev issues with SV and considering the conditions it was made under…I’m not surprised.

I’m not expecting PLZA to have Pokérus either. PLA didn’t have it generate on wild Pokémon, let Pokémon spread it to others in the party or clear up despite being present in the game’s code and boost the amount of EVs gained in battles.

Sakurai actually goes into detail how the COVID-induced WFH situation affected the development of SSBU’s Fighters Pass 2 on his YouTube channel.

Mind you that Sora Ltd., Namco-Bandai, and several other studios were involved with this. Just imagine how fucked up it got for Game Freak and The Pokémon Company.

Well, I'm getting the server errors for Bank too. I'm trying to get every game a little bit of Wonder Trading and some of them have so much Pokemon I simply have to deposit some. I forgot how much breeding and trading for competitively viable Pokemon I did on my main save file back in the day.
Gee, if only there was another game I could transfer some of these into. I guess not, they will simply rot away unless I decide to come back to the Battle Tree again.

Edit: I've gotten the bank to work, and I must say Ultra games are giving me a whole lot better stuff than the vanilla S/M. On the latter, you would usually get just random Pokemon people caught or breedjects, where as in Ultras you have Japanese tripping over to give you apriball mon and competitively viable starters with HAs. I've even gotten a few trade only evos, including one that needs an item to evolve and it was holding it during the trade. Either I am just getting luckier or the Ultra servers have all the OGs who have been grinding away at this game for years, giving their collections away since may of these Pokemon have been hatched years ago.
Good haul if you still own Ultra games, I suggest you dig them out and get em while they last.

Cause it’s Pokemon. Heck G/S are known because Iwata was somehow able to work magic to get Kanto in and not have the game fall over.

Kanto didn’t happen because of Iwata. He overhauled their compression algorithm which is why battles take less than a second to load.

I had a bit of a mini-heart attack just now, I completely forgot to set up an NNID, download Pokémon Bank, and download Poké Transporter onto my homebrew-equipped 3DS. Thankfully I managed to set it up without issue. Now I have an extra 100 boxes of storage for 3DS-era Pokémon until Bank craps out.

The only thing that makes me worried is that it didn’t detect my downloaded copy of AS but I think that’s due to it not having a save file.

I’m also in the process of downloading PKSM onto that 3DS as well.

Being limited to only 30 boxes or there abouts for most games is honestly frustrating.

It’s why I wish there was mass auto egg hatching as Shiny Egg Hunting is just a pain if you also want to complete a whole Dex in game. Not enough space for all the eggs.

Oh well, their loss. I'm getting quite a load, including the coveted Intimidate Fake Out Litten/Incineraoar that was fucking everywhere back in the heyday of SM competitive. I'm certainly not going to feel any regrets once the servers are dead, aside from that Wonder Nuzlocke I mentioned. Even then, I have enough boxes filled with WT Pokemon that I am thinking I will leave alone as is for now. I will still go thru with it, but when I catch a wild Pokemon, I will use a random number generator and fish one of the random Pokemon out and replace it with the one I caught. This is not perfect, nor is it truly as chaotic as it would be if I didn't know what I was getting, but it's the next best thing. I really need to get a jailbroken 3DS to get my hands on PKSM, I'm guessing Bank doesn't have long to live either.

I’m honestly disappointed that HOME didn’t boost the amount of boxes you get for their free and premium plans when they announced that the 3DS/Wii U servers were going down, I know Bank will at least be usable for a while but I don’t like that TPC said to transfer your Pokémon sooner rather than later.

The fact there you don’t just get about 5 or so for free so you can at least transfer over a Regional Dex worth of mons simply and cleanly makes me sad.

I think you should be able to carry with you one game worth of mons for free.

It means everyone is not doing it all at once with several hours left on the clock and they likely don’t know how long it will be up for. If it was a few months or a year they would have given a date. But there is no date to give yet. They could have said a few years, but that’s comitting and people will complain if plans change and keep badgering them for an answer to how much is a few. And they’d still bitch when the clock was close to midnight.

Honestly saying ‘up for the time being, no plans to take it down but we advise transfering asap’ was the right statment to make honestly everything considered.

Karma for trading all these VC Pokemon on Christmas is paying off. I just got a shiny VC almost perfect Celebi.
Quite a few Beast Ball Pokemon as well and even more HA starters. The servers only have hours left, but people are going all out.

I'm currently rushing to finish my friend safari because I forgot the date like a tard. I've got 144/147 mon on hand now, but all three left are in different type categories and I've only got 4 slots left. This is gonna be a close one...

Not too concerned about much else since 99% of it can be replicated with hacking.
Events? Got most of gen 6's legit.
Specific combos of moves on mon? Have most of the ones I care about already.
Wonderlockes? I did so many when I was younger that I think I've permanently burnt out.

I'd wonder trade/online battle one last time too but I've already spent a few hundred hours of my life on that and I'd rather not waste one more when there's a chance of bricking my system with it. At the most I'll probably trade away one final box of breedjects that I still haven't gotten rid of and call it a day then.

Sucks to see the servers go down regardless, even if it's understandable as to why. I'm only thankful that the 3DS got longer to live than the DSi, it's nice compensation for that awful fiasco.

I’ve been Wonder trading some old breedjects in X and I‘ve mostly been getting garbage, the only things of note so far is a Shiny JPN Doduo (that I’ll more than likely transfer to SV) and a JPN HA Turtwig packing Superpower.

I've wonder traded some breedjects holding event exclusive berries across both Y and Ultra Moon and I've received a bunch of other breedjects back, including multiple Honedge from some guy named Eric. I got a shiny Pawniard, Pumpkaboo, Shaymin and Giratina and of all those only Giratina seems to be legit.

I’ve gotten a few breedjects as well but the only Shinies I’ve gotten are a Doduo, a Ledyba, and a Darumaka.

EDIT: Well I just got lucky, I ended up getting a Shiny Lugia from Wonder Trade. I have a feeling it’s hacked (despite it looking legit for the most part) but I’ll run it by PKSM before transferring it.

EDIT 2: And I got another one, this one's a blatantly-hacked Shiny Arceus.

EDIT 3: Add in another hacked Shiny Legendary, this time it's a Shiny Tapu Lele from some YouTuber. Also, people are still managing to Wonder Trade past 4 PM PDT.

EDIT 4: Another Shiny, this time it as a Yungoos from someone named Farquad. And yes, the servers are still up as of 4:20 PDT.

EDIT 5: I got another hacked Shiny, this time it was a Lunala. I also lost my connection but was able to reconnect instantly. Just what the fuck it going on at Nintendo?

EDIT 6: I got another presumably-hacked Shiny, this one's a Lv. 100 Barboach.

EDIT 7: I got a Shiny Dialga this time, it's probably hacked but I'm not too worried. I've heard that NoA got their end time wrong and the shutdown actually takes place at 00:00 UTC.

Ended up giving in and wonder trading a bunch of stuff away for old time's sake. A whole box of Zorua, another of Furfrou, then a bunch of Goomy, Contrary Snivy, Ralts, Swablu, and more.

Got a few funny shinies back, lots of garbage, and plenty of people catching random shit and naming it "bye 3DS" or some variation. Highlights include a level 58 male shiny Braixen, a level 1 shiny Zorua (for one of my normal breedject Zorua), one of my Swablu (for one of my Snivy), and a Pidgey with its hidden ability named YO MAMA!!!!!.

RIP 3DS Wi-Fi, 2013-2024. Let's hope the troons running your replacement server actually finish their work by 2025.


EDIT: This might be of some interest.
I made a map with some friends highlighting every place that I got a wonder trade from (minus the box of Zorua). Pretty interesting, I think. Was very surprised by the Russian as I've never gotten an Eastern European before then despite how many Wonder Trades i've done.
