Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I am still seeing people claiming there is a few remaining holdouts wonder trading even after 12 hours post shutdown. Bless them, but I doubt we will be seeing the same kind of insanity we've seen during OG Xbox Live shutdown when we would have people playing against one another until their consoles fried themselves. Pickings are already slim, same few people trading each other as the injectors left.
End of an era, I don't think we will get online in Pokemon this good(and accessible) when even the basic features in games are hard to get working by Gamefreak these days. I hope fans can sort this out, I'm unironically looking forward to restored(and maybe even fixed) GTS and Wonder Trade more than the next Pokemon game/Gen.

Welp, looks like fans have a long way to go if this is our best bet at getting the servers operational again.

My Wonder Trading fun ended around 3:30 AM-4:00 AM when I suffered a connection error but I'm not too bummed out about it since I really started to trade with the same group of people (and even got a couple of Pokémon I traded out back) and the occasional trade bot. Now it's time to check the Shinies I got with PKSM.

I wonder if the connection bit we're seeing is due to Nintendo's 3DS servers doing an initial "NNID check" on a game and then redirects the connection to GF's servers, it would explain why people were able to stay connected past the end date/time if they were online before then but couldn't reconnect if they had any errors at any point past that.
It was legit and didn't have anything wrong with it like super EV's or illegal moves. This was back in the first few months after the release of sun/moon.
Was it transferred over from a previous game (had its met location set to a region rather than an in-game location)?

On the one hand I don't trust troons in the slightest when it comes to maintaining any sort of online structural system like Nintendo Network, but on the other it seems that my assumption that there being some funkiness with the way Nintendo Network handles data was right considering that the team needed dumped data from other peoples' 3DSs to see what each piece of online-related data does. There's also the fact that Pretendo is open source.

Like @Anonitolia mentioned in passing, the teams trying to restore online functionality in Nintendo games are all run by trannies and furries. If you're using the DNS exploit to use online features in gens 4 and 5, be very careful and don't let your opinions be known because if they realize you're not pro-troon, they WILL blacklist you and you'll be permanently locked out of the GTS. There are even cases of people who never even spoke to them being banned without appeal, like how sometimes you'll be blocked by Xitter nobodies despite never speaking to them.

Alright, I'm going over some Pokémon from yesterday's final run with PKSM's hack checks...
  • Shiny Darumaka: Legal
  • Shiny Lugia: Hacked, none of its moves are valid and the met location's wrong.
  • Reshiram: Legal
  • Shiny Arceus: Hacked to Hell and back.
  • Shiny Tapu Lele: Hacked
  • Shiny Yungoos: Legal
  • Shiny Togepi: Legal
  • Shiny Lunala: Hacked
  • Shiny Paras from a known hack site: Surprisingly enough it passes legal checks
  • Shiny Barboach: Hacked, it has an invalid move and its met location is only used for Mystery Gift Pokemon
  • Shiny Dialga: Legal
  • Shiny Jirachi: Legal, I'd say I'm shocked by this one passingdespite having the hallmarks of a blatant hack (hex flawless IVs) but I know people have gotten better in recent years.
  • Uxie: Legal
  • Shiny Dusk Mane Necrozma: This Pokémon is to failing hack checks as Family Guy's Glenn Quagmire is to having every STD known to man. I'm honestly impressed with how bad it is.
  • Shiny Turtwig: Legal
  • Shiny Lopunny: Legal
  • Shiny Swablu: Legal
  • Shiny Uxie: Hacked, PID mismach
  • Shiny Electivire named MA NIGGLING: Legal but it has the hallmarks of an injected Pokémon. I'd send it up to Scarlet but I have a feeling Home's profanity checks wouldn't like it.
  • Shiny Skorupi: Legal
  • Shiny Smeargle from VC Gold: Legal
  • Shiny Meloetta: Hacked
  • Event Delibird: Looks legal but is missing its event Ribbon. I may just edit the Ribbon on to make it legal, I wouldn't be surprised if the person I got it from did the reverse to get it past online's hack checks.
  • Shiny Empoleon: Legal
  • Shiny Ribombee: Legal
All in all, it was pretty nice ending. I'm gonna miss it unless Pretendo brings it back. Then I'll just be depressed about it.

With its closure, I sure wish that I played online stuff more, especially the GTS before it was molested. Was still a fun last few hours though which is a good place to leave it. It brings peace of mind that servers will probably be figured out for all these games and they will be playable online easily, but the charm will be lost for me as well as the uncertainty of stuff like the community around Pretendo.
To the six year old boy who wanted a LV 100 Shiny Mew for his LV 5 Rattata, I'll miss you.

So the only GTS that works now is Gen 4 and Gen 5 one.
lol, lmao, guess they outlived the newer games, huh? Switch ones don't even have it anymore since apparently this is build into Home now?
Well, I guess better than nothing, right? I hope more people go back to these older titles and re-populate the GTS. Last I checked, I did actually make a few trades, so I know it works too.

As @Squawking Macaw said Gen IV and V's online functions are only up because of the same group of furries and troons trying to make Pretendo work with the 3DS and Wii U's online functions. And you bet your sweet bippy they'll ban you from their servers if they learn you're not pro-troon/furry.

Good luck banning an anonymous user who never interacts with any of them. Should be fine for everyone who doesn't directly go into their discord or talks to them on social media(and why the fuck would you?)

Not to be that guy, but how the fuck would they even figure that out if you're just using the servers to trade, and battle?

I mean, no? The games went down after the same length had gone by. The only reason Gen 4 and 5 are up was because people found a work around. But that took time. There was a period when the DS was down and you could not do anything.

It will be up for the 3DS eventually. As the same people behind Gen IV-V are trying to get the 3DS to work

It is an interesting point, I had thought the DS replacement servers were already up by the time those servers closed. Or at least they had a solution for Mario Kart Wii, the most popular online game for the platform. Autistic trans/furries actually need less of a life so they can develop this stuff.

Did you get "OVERPOWERED" the Barboach? Matches the description of one I got when I was wonder trading. I should probably go through and hack check some stuff for fun.

I misremembered. The people behind the current fanmade DNS don't seem to ban anybody, but there's this other fanmade online service, Wiimmfi, that does and it's quite ban-happy.
It's got a gigantic banlist and their forums even have a dedicated thread for getting people banned. So far most of the people getting banned were caught using cheats, but it does not set a very good precedent. A good chunk of the bans were because the players' Mii's name was gibberish or something innapropriate, there are several Hitlers on the ban list and the last comment on this reddit post mentions being banned for naming their Mii KrackAdick.

What I mean basically is don't name your character/Pokemon/Mii anything that may get you banned while using the fanmade servers.

If that’s the case then we should be fine, most of us should know how to hide our power levels at this point.
I'm seeing people on /vp/ saying that if you were still somehow online, they yanked the servers for good. Everybody gets an error now.
RIP
Considering that we’re ~1 day past the kill time NoA reported on this was expected.

Oh, and don’t forget to pour one out for all of the Pokémon left behind in the GTS. May their deaths not be forgotten.
