Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Gen 6 had Lysandre who literally wanted to use a war machine to genocide the residents of the Pokémon equivalent of France (definitely in line with how the Nazis ended up).
Also proud inventor of the Holo Caster and lover of art and beauty.
I couldn’t tell you the motivations of any of the other villainous teams after that, I dropped off pretty hard. Team Skull was just a bunch of punk teenagers going around vandalizing shit.
9 was misfits ala Skull.

8 was literally football fans and were just simping hard for best girl. Much to her annoyance.

The main badguys in 7 and 8 still were psychos.

It really is a shame that Gen V fell into the Zelda cycle, because that’s really what convinced them to play it safe from then-on-out.
I mean Gen 7 ended with the main antagonist ending up in a permanant coma and the player character’s best friend leaving for maybe ever. And we were also shown the antagonist would freeze Pokemon so they were cute.

Then USUM ruined it. But even that was multidimensional eldrich horror wants to eat the world, which i’ll grant is the most cartoon out of all of them.

Gen 9 admittedly was more centralised, but was essentially all because a parent cared more about work then their own child and even the robot they left behind went ‘oh god, they were shit.

Gen 8 is fucking strange because it’s so last minute.

Honestly, story wise apart from maybe 8 they’ve not really been playing safe. And I think we’ll see what happened with the older games happen evently to the newer ones as well. That being people go back and actually pay attention.

I blame that on there not being a pure Rock-type until Gen II and a majority of Gen I's Rock-types being paired up with dual-typed with Ground. The only Rock-types that weren't paired up with Ground were the Fossil 'mons (water for the Kabuto/Omanyte lines and Flying for Aerodactyl).
That was the reference, actually.

I was going to call that another Mandela effect since I swear Pidgey was listed as Bird type, but that was actually another gen 1 “Pokemon”:

Even in Generation 2, they frequently preferred to 'bird Pokémon' instead o 'flying Pokémon'.

It's hilarious how even the trannies are full on seethe mode right now. Apparently someone forgot the memo that you're supposed to indulge tranny delusions, not holding up a mirror to their broken bodies.

In later context, the worst enemies of trannies are trannies.

And what in the fuck did Niantic think that this is how IRL butts look like:

But wait, it gets even W O R S E
Let's take a look at this hideous bint's personal website! Hmmm, what's that? Inclusivity AND diversity expertise? Tell me more kind xir!

She LITERALLY CALLED HERSELF KESTREL RIOT, THAT'S HER LEGAL NAME
Oh, no. I got plenty of warning that Sweet Baby Inc. is no the only company of its kind, yet seeing another such company i still a big blow, especially when one is in charge of a Pokémon game.
I kept putting off Pokémon Go because I wanted to wait until all of the glitches are gone, but replacing the AR features with queerification...

By the by, you do not deserve having the same last name that Ashley Riot has.

Wait; what?

The Zelda cycle was were the current iteration was the worst in the series, and the preceding being the best; push the concept forward as new installments are released.
Which honestly has been Pokemon since Gen 3 honestly.

I blame them wanting to refresh the plot every Gen and completely disconnect the regions.

I think I see people praise X and Y anew these days, though I wonder how long do we need to wait until Sun and Moon are praised anew?

Sun and Moon (and their Ultra versions) would get praised either now, or when Gen X games are released.

I'd rather not think about when people will get to the phase of praising Sword and Shield, BDSP, and Scarlet and Violet though.

I liked X and Y at the time but now I’m only nostalgic for stuff like super training and Pokemon Amie, while the rest is pretty forgettable.

I always liked Sun/Moon (not Ultra) and always get confused when people say that was when the series started to get bad.

Anyone notice why the fuck Pokemon sex is called gender in the English versions of the games? Just typical superstitious NOA censorship on their own games as usual? Its sex literally everywhere else.

Exactly that. Gen 2 released when Nintendo began to relax a bit here-and-there on censorship, but 1) Nintendo has and always will keep an eye on being family-friendly, but also 2) I'd add Pokemon became such a phenomenon so fast that NOA would definitely make sure nothing even remotely sexual or skeevy could be interpreted anywhere.

I remember hating Gen 4 and Gen 5. And loving Gen 6 and 7. And going back through Gen 4 and Gen 5 I recall why. The games feel sluggish to play in so many aspects and 6 and 7 did not.

Was it because of the long save times, notably in Gen 4? Save times are super quick in Gen 6, and while a bit slower (I think) in Gen 7, it's still faster than the DS games.

The Gen 4 games were also notorious for the HP bars taking forever to deplete in battle. It's possible to have an entire conversation while waiting for a Level 100 Blissey's HP bar go from full to zero.

You know, I think that might be it. I don’t remember the save time being slow but playing back now christ it is shit. Considering how frequently people save, it’s unacceptable. Coupled with movement spead and battle times being slow and then the fact the starters just looked and felt awful to use. And the HM useage. It feels that any time you get going you are brought to a screeching violent stop.

It's worth noting that that was some kind of weird hardware issue exclusive to the original releases because if you emulate them or play Platinum, there's no delays and the saves take about 1 second tops. Something is fucky there and whatever it is doesn't make sense to me.

Playing Plat ln old hardware and the save times are noticable. So I’d assume it might be a DS issue.

Then there i some bug that made the player's house have a jaggy pattern instead of the intended straight one... which became the true and honest pattern in the remakes.

"content creator" is the most soulless and blatant glownigger term to describe any old shitposter on video sharing sites ever created. They don't even create actual content most of the time. Just bitching at a screen for 20 minutes or spamming political propaganda with various bait & switch tactics where they will sperg about current events in the middle of some completely unrelated video like a video explaining pokemon game mechanics.

Literally the only reason I can't bring myself to replay the originals from start to finish. Though it was a little better in HG/SS with the gigantic leap in overall visual quality and Engine upgrades that weren't in Platinum and were continued up through Gen V.

Its definitely a DS issue. Hadn't experienced this at all even on a 3DS.

And ironically the next gen we got Gardevoir, of which basically anti-skeevyness was effectively off the table later on. I mean we got a mon based upon a fucking dominatrix.
