Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I like the GBA and DS Mystery Dungeon games better than what came after, like Super Mystery Dungeon or the remake of Rescue Team. The 'mons in the latter look so stiff and lack animation, even though the former uses 2D sprites which take more effort to animate. Also, something about the gameplay in later ones feels "off" vs. GBA and DS ones.

>dev steps down because he feels he made something addictive and he feels this goes against his faith
>same dev also adds completely unnecessary gacha gambling shit for no reason

???

Also, literally anything can be addictive, it's on the player to moderate their time with the game, not the creator. Seems more likely to me that lead dev was sick of being stuck in trannyland dealing with trannies and fags all the time and just wanted out. As someone who's been in that situation, I can understand entirely. These people sap the fun and creativity out of anything they infest. They're a plague. If you do something that gains a decent fanbase, never, EVER create a place where fans can interact with you directly. It will make you hate them and your work.

It really cannot be understated how troons and other kinds of coomers ruin everything when it comes to a fan Discord.

Why? Because they actually tend to be the most entitled consumers you can imagine. The worst thing is they're like locusts: even if you bend over backwards for them they require constant affirmation and stimulation, so you never really get a break as a developer. If you do try to slow their bullshit down they just quit and move on to their next obsession.

The worst thing for free project developer morale is feeling underappreciated, and not catering to these types is the quickest way there.

Shame. I started playing Pokerouge a few days ago.

Guess within this month or the next, the game's gonna die.
Wouldn't say "die" just yet, unless you mean the developer side of things. Unless the site is yeeted into oblivion (there's a github so people will probably fork and and continue it) there will always be a good chunk of people who don't give a shit playing it.

I love the GBA Mystery Dungeon games so fucking much. DS games as well, everything after Explorers is just garbage. Have yet to play DX but on principle I refuse to play the majority of remakes and remasters.
The 'mons in the latter look so stiff and lack animation, even though the former uses 2D sprites which take more effort to animate.
That's just how Pokemon is now-a-days, it's tragic. Not even Chunsoft (Spike Chunsoft now) is safe from GF overwhelming laziness. It's like secondhand laziness. Reminder that people have left public reviews after working with GameFreak and it was...not good at all.
Also, something about the gameplay in later ones feels "off" vs. GBA and DS ones.
I also have that feeling, from what I've seen at least. Have not played DX but I have played SMD and GTI (not sure why but hey, piracy is free except in time).

I thought the same thing, doesn't make sense. Really I think he stepped down because he realized he was outnumbered 1:100 in his beliefs and didn't want the headache that comes with it. As you said, he was probably sick of being stuck in "trannyland." Troons ruins all they touch it's amazing. They are absolutely 0 redeeming qualities and serve only to destroy.

"The Shadow that bred them can only mock, it cannot make: not real new things of its own. It only ruined them and twisted them; and if they are to live at all, they have to live like other living creatures."
"Evil cannot create anything new, they can only corrupt and ruin what good forces have invented or made."

My run through Y was largely uneventful, for some reason or another
Same. For me it was the story. I was just completely checked out. That, and you really don't get much of a challenge till the elite fout and post game.

Everything else outside of that I enjoyed
  • Super Training
  • Friend Safari
  • Battle Maison
  • Battle Chateau
  • Mega Evolutions
  • The Fairy Type
  • Character Customization
  • Inverse Battles

So, you do guys think that the upcoming "Z" game would be another dud or just another attempt by Game Freak to keep lining their pockets.
I mean it's Pokemon, even if it's shit it'll still pull in enough to not be considered a dud. As for gameplay, if it's gonna be like Arceus where the system is so retarded that I can't even be arsed to go for a second run, then yes it'll absolutely be a steaming pile of Groudon shit.

So on all of this bullshit about PokeRogue's impending collapse: The real reason why he left the game behind him was mostly him getting fed up with every single pro-transgender rights bullshit human being talking to him, especially since he holds a different worldview from them (a not-so-good one IMO, but still more based than clown worldview), and while he was trying to rest his head from the bullshit, he'd thought about how his game kinda contradicted what he believed....so it was a factor, but not the driving one.

Of course, he didn't want to be seen as a "transphobic white Christian who wants trans kids to be murdered" type of guy, so he left with just the religious metaphor and went on with his life...only for the assholes to doublecross him and send his DMs to the Discord, immediately turning everyone against him aside from the few who were banned for calling them out. I can only imagine he's sighing with distress right now...

The PSS was also their best implementation of multiplayer features, where everything for it (i.e. trading, battles, O-Powers), are all in one nicely organized place. And it's no surprise that later implementations of it were worse in later generations. (Looking at you, Festival Plaza as a whole, Rotom Loto in USUM being the Temu version of O-Powers, and Pokémon HOME existing as an excuse to remove the GTS from the games themselves.)

Also, Gen VI being the only 3D era generation of games to still have Triple and Rotation Battles was great too, but it also shows how they chose the easy way to not keep those in later games.

Sounded like he was walking on eggshells and tried to please everyone, which NEVER works for anyone that's ever tried it. When it comes to trannies, you have to stick to your guns and take a stance, and if that means burning bridges, then fuck it, torch the goddam place till it's nothing but ashes.

A lot of people who act tough are actually weak and bitter on the inside, unlike the people who are actually tough as they don't show it until needed. They will break when the threat of losing good faith is on them, and so when they break, they self-destruct. Samuel seems like he's actually a bit of a tough guy and just walked away when there was nothing left to do...the message could've had an paragraph discussing how trannies broke him if he could tho.

I also have that feeling, from what I've seen at least.
Super Mystery Dungeon and the DX remake feel like such a chore to play somehow, which the GBA-style MD games lack.

ORAS has those features too.* Would've been better with the Emerald Battle Frontier and being able to re-challenge gym leaders though.

* (except that castle and character customizing)

I do not ge this. Would not slowing down troons and perverts to the point of they quitting improve a community? Also, would not avoiding catering to troons and perverts preven that feeling of underappreciation?

Many developers on these kinds of projects have poor social skills and a strong need for parasocial approval.

For those that do not, they often just want to grill code and often get proxies to handle the community stuff they rightly see as a headache, which allows for troon gatekeeping bullshit.

It's a very rare free project dev who is willing or able to dodge all of these pitfalls.

Do you have a source for this? Genuinely curious.
Pokemon does not like swears or rude words in their games.

i mean enjoying everything else put into the game that you only really do post game and therefore after the game is done catering to children that like saturday morning anime makes it a pretty good game.

Pokemon Games aren’t meant to be this huge challenge or overally complex

The main story in XY was kind of whatever (I personally think it was held back by the fact that Lysandre was kind of right, but it's not politically correct in a kids game, so they couldn't really do anything with it), but I was always drawn in my the other mysteries they seemed to be building up, whether they were for an originally planned Z version or completely scrapped or what. The sundial and it's connection to mega evolution and Diancie, the unvisitable power plants and their possible connection to Volcanion, the weird note in the Lumiose train station, someone in Anistar talking about how some other group had been asking about the legendary Pokemon years ago... unfortunately if ZA tries to answer any of those questions it'll almost certainly be lore-ruining retarded-ass dogshit with a side dish of being weirdly meanspirited. I hate the Ohmorichrist. Kieran did nothing wrong.

Do you remember that Pokemon 1.5 hack that undoes the changes done by the Pokémon SpaceGold hack?
I found a couple of more glitches.

Tyrogue i supposed to try to evolve into Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, and Hitmontop, one after another, after he reaches LV 15, regardless of stats. You are supposed to press B once if you want Hitmonlee or press B twice if you want Hitmontop. However, pressing B simply cancels ALL evolution, which makes Hitmonlee and Hitmontop impossible. I simply commented ou the branches to Hitmonchan d Hitmonlee, bu that is definitely a private workaround.
Another is that I cannot access Wind Ride, the replacement o Fly, in the menu. The problem was tha the hacker failed to modify data/mon_menu.asm wi the names of the replacements. The hacker clearly missed this because Fly/Wind Ride is the only HM that requires use from the menu; the rest can be used from the field.

Super Mystery Dungeon and the DX remake feel like such a chore to play somehow, which the GBA-style MD games lack.
Doesn't help that SMD (also what that game tells you when playing it, sometimes) has some brutal boss hurdles in the story. Also, the friending system in that game feels like a clapback at all the heat they rightfully got for giving players a barebones list of recruitables.
