Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

they don't have an option to use major legendaries
There is a way to use legendaries in ORAS with Battle Mansion battles: using that battle recorder thing, and then replaying it as a "mock battle" where you can then use the "banned" pocketmons. One needs an SD card to do that though, and saving a lot for variety.

Of course the opponents never use any big legendaries, so it's not like Colosseum where one can battle big legendaries with the like.

Not gonna lie, Cheren's original theme kinda slaps

Here is a couple of oddities:
*Wild Pokemon Battle theme(the one that got leaked 13 years ago but nobody believed the leaker) actually had new iterations made for latter commits. This means that it was intended to be actually used in the game, before replaced with what we have.
*Gear Station aka Battle Tower theme was used in early Castelia City
*Wifi Plaza and all it's content was supposed to re-appear. There is even slightly new tracks made for it from what we have in Gen 4.
*Several Traier's Eyes themes were different in the earlier builds

My observations from reading early info on Gen 5 Pokemon
*Victini was copy and pasted from Jiraichi, it kept going back between Steadfast and Serene Grace for it's Ability before finalizing on it's unique Ability
*Snivy line, on the other hand, despite being copy-pasted from the Bulbasaur line had it's stats finalized early on. It's original HA was Chlorophyll
*Tepig line was originally pure Fire for all forms. Original HAs were Sheer Force and Thick Fat
*Patrat line originally had Rivalry and Frisk as normal abilities. Analytic used to be a normal ability, not it's Hidden Ability
*Stoutland had 10 points of Defense and Attack taken away along with several points of Speed and HP. Lillipup originally had Intimidate just like it's 2 later forms, Sand Rush was a late addition as the second ability was originally Justified
*Purrloin line used to have Pickup, Prankster was also originally a Normal Ability instead of a Hidden one
*Monkeys had their stats completely switched around compared to what we know today. Gluttony was originally Vital Spirit, but there were plans to replace it with Blaze/Torrent/Overgrowth, depending on your monkey(that became it's HA today)
*Pidove line used to have more Attack. Big Pecks was originally Keen Eye and Rivalry was a Normal Ability, not a Hidden One
*Zebstrika originally had Volt Absorb, that was later changed so both forms had Static instead. HA, Sap Sipper, was only added late in development
*Woobat was originally Normal/Flying and had Own Temp Ability. When it was changed to Psychic/Flying type, it's abilities were changed to Oblivious/Cloud Nine. Stats were nerfed before release
*Drillbur line was originally pure Ground and Drillbur itself had Oblivious as it's ability. Later on, both forms had their Abilities changed to Sand Veil and Simple, while it's Hidden Ability was Speed Boost. Can you imagine how much more busted this thing would be in it's earlier form?
*Audino originally had Natural Cure instead of Healer
*Sewaddle line originally had Overcoat as a Normal Ability instead of a Hidden one. I am seeing a pattern here
*Cottonee had Chlorophyll as a Normal Ability before Infiltrator replaced it
*Petilil line's spot was originally occupied by a Fighting Type, perhaps that weird dragon that was posted early on in the leaks. Leaf Guard was originally a Normal Ability
*Basculin had the spot occupied by Reckless by either Swift Swim or Rock Head. For whatever reason it was originally going to hold a Deep Sea Scale
*Sandile Line originally had Anger Point as a second Ability, but it was turned into a Hidden One very early on. Originally, that spot was occupied by a three stage Water Pokemon but no other info on it is available
*Daramuka was originally a Normal Pokemon with a Sturdy Ability. While Sturdy was temporarily considered as a Hidden Ability once it was changed to Sheer Force, that didn't last long and was soon replaced by Zen Mode
*Scraggy line was originally mono Fighting
*Sigilyph originally had Tinted Lens as a Normal Ability
*Yanmask line had different Abilities experimented with before Mummy was settled on: Sturdy, Filter, Soundproof. It had it's Attacking stats nerfed in the final veriosn
*Trubbish originally Pickup instead of Sticky Hold and Garbador ha Sticky Hold instead of Weak Armor. Garbador also had it's Defense, Special Defense and Speed nerfed in the final game
*Zorua originally had Pressure before it's Illusion gimmick was finalized
*Mincinno line originally had Own Tempo and Soundproof abilities. Physical and Special attacks were reversed for final release
*Gothita originally had Prankster instead of Frisk
*Solosis originally had Synchronize and Anticipation, more fitting abilities thematically, and when they were replaced Regenerator was a Normal Ability before being replaced by Magic Guard
*Ducklett line originally had Swift Swim instead of Big Pecks. Maybe it would have been actually useful if it kept it
*Deerling line was originally a Normal Type, and yet it had Lead Guard even right at the very start. When it started taking shape into what we know it as today, Serene Grace was a Normal Ability before being replaced with Sap Sipper, Stats massively reduced across the board, another Pokemon that could have potentially been good
*Foongus line had it's Attack stats buffed while it's Defense stats were nerfed. Can you imagine this thing being even tankier?
*Frillish line was originally a Pure Water, then Water Poison. Damp was eventually replaced with Cursed Body, Male variant came later apparently
*Alomamola originally had Water Absorb and Swift Swim, it's Speed also took a 20 point hit in the final version
*Joltik line originally had Swarm as a Normal Ability before being replaced with Unnerve
*Ferroseed line originally a Pure Steel Type
*Klink's Ability gimmick was originally having both Light and Heavy Metal abilities, which was switched to even more useless Plus and Minus in the final game. Now we know where that rare and niche ability came from
*Haxorus is a very early Pokemon and it originally did not have it's two other forms of pre-evolution. It was originally a Pure Dark Type and had No Guard as it's Ability
*Cubchoo line originally had Sticky Hold and Pressure abilities, while Beartic originally had Sheer Force as it's HA
*Cryognal had a whopping 50 point drop in it's Defense and 20 point drop in Special Attack
*Accelgor had it's Defense dropped by 50%, from 80 to 40
*Stunfisk originally had Sand Veil as a Normal Ability before it was replaced by Limber
*Druddigon was originally Dragon/Dark
*Bouffalant originally had Soundproof as a Normal Ability and Sheer Force was completely replaced
*Rufflet line was originally Mono Flying and had Thick Fat instead of Sheer Force
*Deino was originally a Pure Dragon. Looks like Druddigon and Deino line switched places based on their designs, ie Hydreigon was considered more "evil" looking
*Reshiram had Pressure as it's Ability for a longest time, and a Hidden Ability of Mold Breaker(it has no Hidden Ability in the final game). Same goes for Zekrom
*Landorous was originally Rock/Ground, as was previously leaked, and it had Pressure Ability. It's original HA was Solid Rock
*Just like the other two dragons, it originally had a HA of Mold Breaker
Overall, we weren't as ROBBED as we were in Gen 3, but some changes are still stupid(such as lowering stats for shitmon arbitrarily, or giving Klink line absolutely useless set of abilities versus ones that could be situationally useful). One thing to takaway from this analysis is that most Pokemon were copy+pasted, usually from a Gen 2-3 Pokemon and then shaped into what they are, as well as that many HAs were simply Normal Abilities that were then hidden behind Dreamworld or events.

The December 2008 beta of BW, unsurprisingly, has a placeholder title screen
Pokemonbw12262008-titlescreen.png
Note that the checkered white and black motif wasn't present yet, the logo for the game is also very rough. Reshiram or Zekrom are also obviously not there
Here is the main menu screen
Pokemonblackandwhite_main_r2319-2008-12-26_3491.png
Dialga is at the top screen while Palkia is at the bottom one, this seemingly confirms that the game was build out of DP builds as a base

Here is something I did not expect: Crystal leaks. You can find these in the "Something Fun" folder, it's basically a set of prototype/alternative animations for some Pokemon and a set of "NEW" revised sprites that didn't make it into the final game. Something I noticed is that they originally tried to mix both the Gold and Silver sprite together for the Crytal animations, despite using Gold's sprites as a base. I would have to compare them side by side to see how successful they were at doing so.

I think the TCG (or ポケカ, pokeka as it's called in Japan) has gotten inconsistent and unbalanced. Back in the '90s when it started, it looked like there was a consistent approach to card design with HP and attack powers, as well as Weakness and Resistance. Now it is like they just arbitrarily throw big numbers out. Weakness and Resistance can be wat (like Sandshrew no longer being resistant to Lightning). Also, of course older cards don't do too well in games with current cards -- that "power creep" thing.

With how much power creep the TCG has gotten, is there a chance where they'll do the equivalent of a "stat squish", where the stats are reduced to the older card levels? Or will the power creep keep going to the point that we'll see 1000 HP cards?

It's a complete whiplash if you're someone like me that hasn't played the games since TCG on GameBoy. The fact that they revamped the older cards and made them sucky is even worse. Hitmonchan's card on the new TCG pocket, whilke based on the very first card generation, only has ONE weak attack instead of two attacks. The Poliwhirl card suffers from the same thing. It's based off of the eReader card but only giving him his punch attack... they removed his bubblebeam attack.

Also the fact that colorless birds don't resis fighting or colorless in general doesn't resis psychic anymore is another thing that royally brings my piss to a boil.

I tried to play TCG during the pandemic online and it's too complex for me now, like YuGiOh. Too many mechanics. I read they've both added and removed Fairy and Dragon type cards in the past few years too?

It's easier if you just use the box decks they give you, and earn coins. But keeping up with the meta was ass...

Most of them are the same, albeit with a few different details or in a different pose. Biggest change came to the Ace Trainers you see on your way to Snowpoint City, as their coats and pants are now green instead of brown, likely so they can keep their visual design of their warmer climate counterparts.
Sadly, the deep lore section removed Typhlosion as a thumbnail for their link. It was fun while it lasted.

Either someone got triggered at his luscious presence, as many normalfags still are, or this retard unironically fell for the fake "correction" a redditor wrongly made. I dunno which is worse, it should be noted that TCRF is ran by trannies and they have their own thread in the Community Watch subforum.
How it looked before today:

Beta Kris had a completely different design, looking more like the Schoolkid class than anything. Unfortunately, all we have are very low res scans of a Japanese magazine page right now, maybe that will change with the terraleak.

Soundwise, DP also looks very similar to the final game. Many themes are the same as the final ones, minus a few differences in composition here or there or different instruments. Here are a few notes:
*Night Themes were late additions, made after March 12th 2006
*All Battle Themes used Gym Leader Battle Theme(first battle theme made for the game), where as all Dungeons(including Valley Windworks) used Victory Road theme
*Legendary Pokemon music was composed before any new Pokemon that would use it were implemented in the game
*Mystery Zone Theme, which while still found in the final game is only heard in places you're not supposed to be in(not unlikely, considering the ancient method of getting to the Legendary Pokemon without event items). The leaks have given us an even earlier version of this track, which in the early builds was a generic placeholder track for any location that was not given a unique or other placeholder track yet.

Here are a couple of music pieces that are actually a bit different from the final:
Flaroama Town, elements of both Night and Day tracks are used. These would be split into two when Night and Day tracks were introduced.

Pokemon Center Theme had a different intro, other minor differences here and there. This is the Day version, confirming this was the first one made

Healing your Pokemon Sound also lacked the 8bit instrumentation of the final

Other stuff I found, relating to PLA
1729454547647475.jpg1729452905450530.png

I have no clue why it's so damn creepy, but I do alike the paper aesthetic. Wish the final used it.

I've been completing living Paldea, Kitakami, and Blueberry Pokédexes in HOME (for that Shiny Meloetta, I'll have to inject some Gen VI/VII Mythicals to complete a true living National Dex) since yesterday and it's going well, I completed Kitakami's Pokédex (barring Dusknoir and Pokémon shared with Paldea's Pokédex) and now I'm completing Paldea's.

I’m honestly kind of shocked with how easy it’s been going, outside of breeding a handful of version exclusives, a few game crashes, and possibly needing to GTS trade for certain Legendaries later I’ve been able to catch everything I need.

And even then some of those free decks are kind of half-assed, you're better off looking at Limitess' tournament results and getting an idea on what kind of decks are good in the format.

To be fair Pocket's a bit different from the main TCG by a wide margin, the removal of resistances in general and retooling weakness from a 2x modifier to a simple +20 to your standard damage output makes deck building a bit better.

Fairy was added to the TCG in 2013/2014 with XY and were removed from the game in 2019/2020 with Sword & Shield for balancing reasons, past and future Fairy-types were grandfathered into the Psychic type.

Dragon-types technically never left, they were added to the TCG in back in 2012 and had periods where they weren't present in the game (The XY era didn't bring them back until Flashfire, the SWSH era didn't add them back in until Evolving Skies, and the SV era didn't add them back until Paldea Evolved).

Oh yeah. New games make it really easy to complete huge chunks of tje dex.

I do wish you did not have to Switch between Home on Switch and the Mobile App though. I really wish all features were in both.

I need to finish off my DP Dex. I hope when that add a reward for that it will sutomatically count.

Agreed, and the DLC makes it even easier by making certain hard-to-find Pokémon easier to track down. You want a Scizor? Well just fly over to the Canyon Biome and wander around for a bit and you'll find one, no Tera Raid den farming necessary!

I don't have that big of an issue with it, I just use the mobile app to keep track of Pokémon I need to put in and put up GTS trades.

If they ever do add one expect it to follow the same rules the Shiny Meloetta reward does, especially the one pertain to Pokémon needing to be from a specific game (in this case BDSP) rather than from any game in existance. The only rule I could see them not applying is regional differences due to them not being present in DPPt or BDSP.

Oh god if they force me to get SP I am going to hate it. I hope they only care about the Region. Mat Plat dex is 3 off.

This is a longshot, but does anyone know how to get a bad egg out of Home?
It was previously the AZ Floette... And it's on Box 1, so it's there whenever I use it. And I can't move it.

The good news aside, I've looked thru the HGSS beta stuff. New music was uploaded on TCRF, apparently the game used DP instruments for all the Johto tracks early on(and vice versa, in the later stages of development when HGSS instruments were used, the remaining placeholder Sinnoh tracks sounded completely different).
Some notes about the music:
*Some tracks were taken straight from GSC and simply given DP instrumentation
*There was originally a day/night difference for these tracks, altho the concept never got far. Only Azalea Town has a nighttime variant(which sounds similar to the FRLG Sevii Island tracks)

Speaking of which, here are some bangers I liked:
GSC Battle Theme directly ported and using DP instruments. I never knew I wanted this so bad

Azalea City (Day)

Azalea City(Nighttime, FRLG Composition)

Gym Theme(Very similar to DPP due to the same instruments used)

Ecruteak(Looks like another direct port from GSC, or perhaps it was written in mind for the new upcoming soundfont that would eventually end up being used in the final game)

Lastly, I checked out 8chan/v/ just to see if they found something, or are even talking about the leaks. Unsurprisingly, most of their thread is just them being ecstatic about the revelations of canon pokephilia and a lot of the thread is just pictures of that. Did you know that PLA already has a nude mod? I do now.
The thread is also very slow, as is 8chan in general. For reference, their thread barely has over 200 posts since the start of the Terraleak, where as /vp/ threads tend to max out bump limit(300 posts) in less than an hour. Dead, shit site filled with coomers, same people posting pokeporn there are probably the same people jacking off to their roadkill fucking general over at /zoo/.
