Still shitty and gay, but it's interesting how they're trying to push Megas to get traction. I still dislike Dot for the design alone (I hate every human design from SV and gen 9).thoughts on the anime's next arc?
They're trying everything to make gen 9 relevant and popular, but I think Sprigatito and Fuecoco were always meant to be pushed because of the attention they got from SV's debut. Lyko is just a girlboss they're trying to push in the new anime (Too bad Lyko isn't popular). Roy and Dot can fuck off somewhere with Lyko.I seriously think they might've ditched the duck after how badly it flopped and gave Sprigatito to Liko last minute.
It's kind of a stretch, but I'm having a hard time unseeing it. The correlations are so obvious that I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone else propose this theory yet. Maybe someone has and I'm just not looking in the right places?

Leftist fag-cunt tries to virtue signal and cries about criticism. More news at 11.I WAS LE HECKING HARRASSED *doesn't give any examples in the video*
Yea, I'm skipping ZA. This is a red flag if I haven't seen one.Haruka Tochigi (this is the only real English source I can find on his identity lol, sorry for the wikia link. if you know Japanese or trust online translators, here's his employee biography and interview (with Ohmori) for more info) has never directed a game before. He's done a lot of art direction, especially in regards to CG and character design (unsure of whether that relates to Pokémon or humans? it's never specified as far as I can tell), and used to make a lot of art for the Professor Layton games at Level-5. This would be the first game he's directing, and given that he's a newer employee (joined in 2013) with roots in the Gear Project he's probably not Team A (like I'd originally expected), but I haven't got very high hopes since I'm not really sure how doing a lot of art would qualify anyone to direct an entire game. I might be missing something though, I don't know enough about the process to comment.
I do find it pretty interesting how he seems to be playing a lot of indie games, and has explicitly stated that he's watching how people play PLA to try and see what he can learn from it, but I'm not sure that has any bearing on how he's actually going to run Z-A. He's also posting a lot about his own game on his Twitter (tagging it with "#indie" so I don't think it's a GameFreak title; rather, just a personal project), so he's at least been trying his hand at game dev for some time now. Notably, he also seems to think that most AAA titles "look too similar" despite their polish, and is actively trying to do things differently (written in his biography; Japanese so it might be mistranslated)... which would explain a lot, lol.
I would link the Imported Cheese vid, but let's put it like this: Chikorita's matchups in Johto are ass and there's no real way around it. Gym 1 is rough as is gym two, but you'd think it gets better from there right? Not really. Whitney's a wash at best and it only lucks out in not getting Rollout stomped. You have the Johto Gym Split after that, but it's rough. The Ghost/Poison gym? Yeah, it eats Chikorita alive. Steel Gym? You're not really doing much physically to it and the Steelix is bringing all the pain. The Fighting gym is the only one where you gain some traction because you do well against Poliwrath. The Ice Gym is a very polarizing one - while Meganium is super effective thanks to the secondary water and ground typings in the gym the gym's also hitting you super effectively with each and every mon. The Dragon Gym is bad for Meganium too as you're getting Neutral at best against Kingdra.I hate chikorita because chikorita is weak to the first two gyms. It's really demoralizing to use chikorita when you're a kid, and you don't know to grind.
In a game where you can pick totodile and evolve it early, there was never a point in picking fag potato monster over anythingI would link the Imported Cheese vid, but let's put it like this: Chikorita's matchups in Johto are ass and there's no real way around it. The only starter that is comparable to Chikorita is Snivy and even then Snivy had a gym it did well against which is more than Chikorita can say.
Chikorita is the Gen2 version of Charmander only to a little more extreme. It's basically "hard mode" where you either grind your ass off to get it to a level where it demolishes everything or you have teammates that help you along the way.In a game where you can pick totodile and evolve it early, there was never a point in picking fag potato monster over anything
It doesn't help that the few really good gen 2 mons were all postgame or hidden away. There's no reason that Houndour had to be hidden away near fucking Celadon. Heracross is nice but it's hidden off in some trees too. I'm still convinced that Noctowl exists to make the Pidgey line look good.People don't like Chikorita because it sucks, simple as. I tried using this thing before, it just doesn't work. Balancing in Gen 2 overall was ass, so it's not like this is the only victim, as a matter of fact most of the new Gen 2 Pokemon were ass and we needed crossgen evos in Gen 4 to fix that.
The thumbnail for this "cecilly" looks like a troon btw
Who in the fuck would punish themselves by only using their starter? Half of what you're whining about can be solved with raising an decent flying typeChikorita's matchups in Johto are ass and there's no real way around it. GameFreak did some really weird shit when it came to stats and movelists before the physical/special split. Noctowl is made to be a special attacker, but almost all of it's moves use physical types, including it's 2 STABs. Night Shade is it's only "threatening" attacking move, but it's fixed damage. Maybe if Hypnosis didn't have garbage accuracy it could have abused dream eater and MAYBE Nightmare a bit better. Otherwise it's not doing diddly-squat with Confusion.I'm still convinced that Noctowl exists to make the Pidgey line look good.
As SpaceWorld beta shows, there was a massive restructuring in the last minute and a whole bunch of Pokemon got scrapped, redesigned or completely changed. Not everything must have been properly tested for balance.GameFreak did some really weird shit when it came to stats and movelists before the physical/special split. Unless you say "fuck it" and give it curse like all the competitive players were apparently doing back then.
And it dosent get any better. Whitney will still stomp you with Milktank and Mortys ghosts are poison. The fighting gym is the only time you at an advantage beacuse of poliwrath but then get double cucked by Jasmine and Pryce. Man, playing Chikorita is indeed the Dark Souls of Pokemon.I hate chikorita because chikorita is weak to the first two gyms. Me, because I was only 8! And I swear Bugsy's Scyther had accuracy boosts!Who in the fuck would punish themselves by only using their starter? Half of what you're whining about can be solved with raising an decent flying type
Yes, but that's something that was entirely on GF for rushing shit out, thoughAnd now i hear you say "why dont you catch other pokemon to even things out?" The problem with that is Johto selection of pokemon is fucking garbage
The point is there's maybe one gym where Chikorita is close to a benefit in a generation with notorious Exp issues right after Ecruteak.Who in the fuck would punish themselves by only using their starter? Half of what you're whining about can be solved with raising an decent flying type
Graveler, Ampharos, and Kadabra were on all gen 2 teams for a reason. Outside those pickings started dropping off hard, and more importantly you could get them all right before wild battles got horrifying under leveled. And it dosent get any better. Whitney will still stomp you with Milktank and Mortys ghosts can use poison. The fighting gym is the only time you at an advantage beacuse of poliwrath but then get double cucked by Jasmine and Pryce. Man, playing Chikorita is indeed the Dark Souls of Pokemon.

Palworld with the Pokemon modDoes anyone recommend any fangames (maybe romhacks?) that don't follow the traditional Pokémon formula? I've played PokéClicker, Pokémon Tower Defense, PokéFarm Q etc.
this isn't Chikorita-exclusive lol, Chikorita just gets the short end of the stick because it sucks with the gyms. Gen 2 in general has this problem; if you want to add a new team member past Ecruteak you're basically SOL unless you spend 8+ hours grinding on the lowest-level wild pocket monsters you've ever seen.notorious Exp issues right after Ecruteak.
Emerald Rogue is a good one even if 2.0 is overly difficult for no real reason. I enjoyed the 1.0 versions (even though they really are pretty huge downgrades) and the game itself can be pretty fun in short bursts. Despite the dev being a tranny, he's pretty quiet about it. Literal only time you'd ever know is if you looked hard at his profile picture or went into a secret room in a mostly-irrelevant building.Does anyone recommend any fangames (maybe romhacks?) that don't follow the traditional Pokémon formula? I already said that in the post. The idea is that gen 2 is already hurting bad for EXP thanks to that split s you really don't have the time to baby Chikorita. Not when you can be using Totodile with the busted rage or Cyndaquil that gets actual type coverage (even if that Whitney fight is rough). I'd defend Chikorita if it had a niche but it's a gen late for Razor leaf spam and it's Blastoise with a much worse typing and coverage.this isn't Chikorita-exclusive lol, Chikorita just gets the short end of the stick because it sucks with the gyms.
