That said, I've been playing Pokemon Scarlet and my main complaint is how ugly a lot of the new Pokemon look, like the ball spider and the ball-and-pipe fighting spider thing it evolves into, as well as the detached 5-piece roly-poly centipede army helmet bug Pokemon thing. A lot of the new names and types are so stupid. A lot of the older gen Pokemon being included makes them look so out of place in a game that is hardly a Pokemon game at all. I can't believe it sold as much as it did and broke all the records it did when it came out. This is also the first time I've ever played a Pokemon game where the norm for me seems to be losing battles and paying your opponent. Even with this, I still managed to get all 8 gym badges in under 20 hours of playtime. IDK, but I feel like the linearity and compulsory battles of the original first few gen of games made the games way more enjoyable than whatever this is trying to do. I also hate the schoolkid outfit you're forced to wear and the Harry Potter-style school setting you're forced to be around. Also, what's the deal with all the food and picnics?
I think Nintendo needs to go back to the original 150, as the roster has gotten so ridiculously large, stupid-looking and stupid-sounding since then.
