Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

So I just had a thought... What if the Sinnoh Remake is actually a "Let's Go"
I kinda doubt it, but that does make me wonder what signature pokemon they'd use for a gen 4 set of those. I imagine at least Munchlax since it was one of the first gen 4 mons to be promoted like in Gale of darkness.

Probably Bonsly and Mime Jr.

Through the DLC's story, it was short but it was pretty fun. The new facilities are nice, the trials were basic but I had fun exploring the new wild area. Felt a step up from the base game's with actual caves and the huge ocean. Having a way to get Apricorn balls other than grinding the tournament is nice.

As much as the animations were a meme, I love Urshifu's animation when he uses Surging Strike. Now if every Pokemon had that I'd accept it as the excuse of why base SwSh was so bare bones. Makes me want him as the inevitable Gen 8 Smash Bros. representative too, they could do something where he switch stances on the fly.

Somewhat surprised it wasn't brought up yet, but with Go confirming megas are on the way, that's yet another spin-off that's still keeping that battle mechanic going despite the main series dropping it like a hot potato. Really makes me wonder if the "BEEG" gimmick wasn't always part of the plan seeing as just about every other facet of the franchise still treats megas as a thing that exist.

The next episode of the Anime is also starring Korina and her Mega Lucario, so you can add that to the bucket list as well.

I had a non terrible thought. Mustard used to be the champion for 18 years before he quit. But he beat the Fairy Type champion before him... Was Opal a champion in her 70+ years as a gym leader?
It’s likely. Agatha was mentioned as being Champion at some point in the PokeSpecial manga so there’s definitely some parallels. I wonder if Oak, Mustard, Opal and Agatha were part of some precursor E4.

The Anime, Manga, and Games are all completely separate continuities, though. By the time Agatha appears in Pokespecial, the manga went pretty off the rails from the games, the quote of Satoshi Tajiri saying the manga was the closest to his vision of how the Pokemon world worked was made really really early on in the series' life, before it got very different from the games(which happened sooner than most realize), and the fiddly details of both the anime and the manga don't need complete input from Game Freak.

You can pretty much disregard any backstory details from one continuity for a character in any other.

Seeing Chugga struggle against Rayquaza in Rescue team DX makes me wonder what I used on my first playthrough in the original game. I remember resetting the main character quiz for the playable eevee but I don't quite recall what I chose as a partner. Might've been Cyndaquil cause I still like that starter the most from the Gen 1-3 lineup. I wonder if I just cheesed it with attract back in the day cause if you don't it seems like he's just going to spam twister and fuck your shit up. Though the old fight also seems easier cause it didn't have the terrain gust mechanic that teleports your teammates.

I played as Torchic with my partners being Bulbasaur and Magnemite. Let me tell you, paralysis was a real goat in that fight.

Yeah, I think what saved him in the end was the lucky few turns where the paralysis from Treecko's dragon breath and the confusion from Magnemite's signal beam kicked in. As a sidenote, I'm getting an itch now to play another mystery dungeon game. I was satisfied enough with what I played from my original blue rescue team and explorers of sky copies but I may consider playing one of the 3DS entries. I'm not actually familiar with gates to infinity or super, through, so I dunno if both are good or if one is considered less worthy of playing.

Yeah, iirc had a fire and grass one too all those years ago, and magnemite was essential towards the end for the underlevelled fellas.

Anybody who bought the DLC could you rate your gaming experience for the class?

I've been playing the Isle of Armor DLC for Sword when I don't feel like unpacking boxes. It's definitely solid so far; it alone isn't enough to justify the price, but, fortunately, with the Crown Tundra later this year, it should be IMO.

Oh snap, I knew about Tajiri’s comment about Adventures, but I didn’t know it was so early on during its serialization. I kinda always took it as the “canon” game story as a kid.

I like the lore they add on the trainer cards. Mustard beat Opal to become champion, and was the old fighting type gym leader. What a chad.
