Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

There was a Pokemon Theme Park in Japan waaaay back in the Gen. 3 days in 2005. It didn't last very long, and almost all of the rides were meant solely for children.

It didn't last very long because the park was temporary by design. Japan does that a lot for themeparks based on a single, specific property. They also are able to be taken apart and moved to a different part of the country(Or in the case of the Pokepark, Taiwan), similar to most carnival and county fair attractions.
Damn, I really wanted to go see the rides in person one day.

Soulless is the subjective word here, I was very impressed by things like having animatronic Goombas and Pirahna plants right out in the open, costumed characters that are actually able to blink and stuff, the video windows in the Toad cafe that really make it feel like the Mushroom Kingdom is right outside...this place is really going to give Disney a run for their money.
Fair enough, I just hate the NSMB/3D World aesthetic.

If current gf remakes gen 4 that means we'll never get a good remake of those games. I hope they stay far away.
IMO Gamefreak can only get worse from here on out. I don't see a future where gamefreak all of the sudden starts being good at making video games.

Are you willing to wait another decade for a remake of Diamond and Pearl? Im not, and I doubt some other nostalgia fags like myself aren't either.

Honestly, while the remakes (if they are announced) may be a tad disappointing, I will still get the biggest soy face ever if/when the announcement comes purely because Sinnoh is my favourite region.

I'll then have several months for the sense of disappointment to really set it.

NGL seeing Mt. Coronet in 3d sounds appealing but only if the entire game had a free camera, the one way they can get a sinnoh fetus like me to sqee is that sense of scale (which sinnoh itself had due to the move to 3d environments like cycling road)
So if Sinnoh just looks like galar's shit retextured to look like my first reigon I would probably wouldn't be hyped myself, thinking the word "soulless" in the back of my mind.

At least if I wait a decade its possible the game would be an entertaining glitchy mess, if they do it now it will just be painfully mediocre

The Legend of Zelda kept going with its puzzles and gimmicks before Breath of the Wild.
Super Mario Bros. kept going with its repetitive obstacle courses before New Super Mario Bros.

Thing is, even if modern Game Freak is a festering pile of mediocrity...the gen IV games have already been made, which means that 70% of the work has already been done by past versions of themselves that still cared, so there's less to mess up.

Going in with the mindset that it's not going to be Platinum also avoids setting myself up for more disappointment.

Ok Im ready. I've set myself up for disappointment. I can't wait to for the gen 4 remakes to be not announced.
This but I'll be disappointed if they ARE announced
Ok let's seriously think about this logically...

As of now these are the currently cut Sinnoh Pokemon from Gen8

Right off the bat we're completely fucked because the starters aren't even available. The basic normal types aren't in Gen8. The Fossil Pokemon aren't in Gen8. Team Galactica's Mascot (Glameow/Purugly) isn't in Gen8. Rock Climb, which was an HM in Gen4, is not a useable move in Gen8.

This means either they would have to completely re-do Gen4 entirely based around Gen8s bullshit, or they would have to release another Update/SeasonPass for Sw/Sh that would cost more money to allow these pokemon into Gen8 and allow for cross-trade between games.

I don't think some of you are actually aware of how fucked not only Pokemon is as a game series, but how GameFreak is as a company.

Can't wait for my inevitable prediction that the Diamond/Pearl remakes would have a much more ridiculously smaller Pokedex than even the originals to come true. But even then who cares right? It has Pokemon on the title on a much more available console. As long as it's Pokemon, no effort needed, kids would want it and people will keep on point to sales as indicators that the games are good.

or they would have to release another Update/SeasonPass for Sw/Sh that would cost more money to allow these pokemon into Gen8 and allow for cross-trade between games.
Honestly, this is actually what I prefer the most. Release one final update for it to add in all the remaining Pokemon and maybe some other features and make it as a nice baseline for future Switch titles to screw over those who paid a lot for Sword/Shield and its DLCs in contrast with a future similar quality with a lower price. Yeah, it would be another "create problems, sell solutions" strategy but I'd rather see Sw/Sh to be more complete than moving on to one rushed title after another.

You are thinking very wrong about what they would do with a remake. It is possible that it would have an entirely different pool of usable Pokemon(as in having ones not in Sword and Shield buy missing ones in Sword and Shield), and they could do the same with moves as well. The other Switch Titles, Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee, have both Pokemon and moves in it that are not in Sword and Shield, why couldn't they, for example, only have the first 493 Pokemon and have all moves that existed in Gen IV available(similar to how Let's Go had all of the Gen I moves available), on top of newer moves from after those games. Many of the missing moves in Sword and Shield are still partially or fully coded to work, they just have no programmed animations and an arbitrary lockout flag preventing their use without romhacking. Missing Abilities are also fully functional, and there is still data for the missing Pokemon, they just have no models and their Gen VII level up moveset(including moves missing in Sword and Shield)

LGPE is also grouped in with Gen7, so that argument really doesn't hold water. Not to mention LGPE is literally Pokemon Go on a console. It completely separates itself from the mainline games until Sw/Sh came along.

The fact that the shit is still in the code and (as of now) can only be accessed via hacking is part of the problem with Pokemon now. They literally broke everything into pieces to nickle'n'dime it to everyone little by little.

But then it wouldn't exactly be Diamond and Pearl, would it? It would be a Pokemon game that just calls itself Diamond and Pearl and would wear the skin of Diamond and Pearl but everything that made Diamond and Pearl great would be non-existant.

That is the same thing that FireRed and LeafGreen did after Ruby and Sapphire cut a lot of Pokémon.
