Police report shooting near rally site as event concludes

Kansas City Chiefs fans took to the streets of the city for something NFL fans hadn’t been able to do in 20 years: celebrate a second consecutive Super Bowl championship. Kansas City saluted its third championship in the Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid era on Wednesday, with a boisterous parade in the city’s streets followed by a victory rally.

But the event ended in chaos, with police reporting that shots were fired near the site of the rally. Local television live streams showed parade-goers running in the area around Union Station, near where the rally was held, and police entering the building. “Shots were fired west of Union Station near the garage and multiple people were struck,” Kansas City police said on social media. “We took two armed people into custody for more investigation.”

Police said the shooting occurred west of Union Station near the end of the rally that followed the parade, according to KMIZ, the local ABC affiliate.
Local television live streams showed people running around the area and police entering the building. Some officers around the perimeter were seen with guns drawn.

Three out the top ten posts on /r/news is about the Kansas City shooting
One is a out the radio DJ being shot.

The other is the original post about the shooting itself.

The last one with the least reaction is about the shooting resulting from a personal dispute.

Nowhere does it mention the suspects identity or that they were youths.

The goal is to run out the clock of public attention on this shooting and have a pavlovian response set in the majority of people before revealing they were Youths with Criminal Histories.

As such, when the bell is rung about Muh Constitutional Carry BAD! you get the emotional response instead of people asking how Constitutional Carry is related when they were prohibited possessors.

P.S. People need to pay more attention when firearms are discussed in public. I have heard that in relation to defensive gun use, that guns are used X many times to threaten or rob.

My response?

So what? Do criminal threats of armed violence not occur in other countries? Are battered spouses making up their abuse claims in the UK?

If a wife beater threatens their partner with a knife instead of a gun does that make the threat moot?

If a shop keeper is threatened at knife point instead of a gun, does that mean the robbery did not occur.

A lot of the talk around guns is just emotional bullshit to get you to use feelings instead of facts.

Two juveniles are among those detained in connection with Wednesday’s shooting following the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl celebration rally, which left one dead and more than 20 wounded, according to Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves.

Isn't the /pol/ meme essentially if no niggers, we'd be safer than most European countries?
You can do that with areas with metro areas higher gun ownership and low nigger rates.

As an example, Orange County, California has more guns that Los Angeles County but has less criminal gun homicides.

I've been really enjoying seeing the corporat media shills getting more and more desperate over the past few high profile shootings/planned shootings. First it was a long string of trannies either going on spree shootings or getting nabbed before their planned spree shooting was carried out, now it's another nigger moment. They're hungry for something they can use to push the narrative and paint white Conservatives as murderous monsters.

This incident also proves how worthless gun control is. Yes, Missouri has pretty lax gun laws. But from the looks of it the shooters were all prohibited from possessing firearms, yet here they were out in public, bold as brass, carrying AR pistols.

I see three out of the top five stories on the front page of /r/news are about the Kansas City shooting
With one of the articles being an emotional story with no real evidence on the shooters.

The second being being from the time of the shooting with the last news story being at 2/14 @ 1801.

The last news story with relevant details being locked to limit engagement so it fall off the page faster.

They will most likely pull out:
>If we didn't have Constitutional Carry cops could have noticed something then detained the shooters to investigate them.

Of course, a year later they will complain about the same cops disproportionately detaining Blacks for suspicion of carrying a firearm while prohibited.

>Guns need to be locked up!

This only works AFTER the shooting has occurred and normal charges of involuntary manslaughter works fine.

I have to applaud the police and prosecutor in their ability to kick this story to the Friday News Dump.

This is because Missouri requires charges to be filed within 24 hours or for the suspect to be released but here we are about 30 hours out and not a single charge has been filed.

An additional note is that the adult detained has been released so now it's just youths that are responsible.
