You see, stickerchild, that there are certain users that did not like their posts being rated "dumb" or "autistic" and being notified of this constantly caused them an immense amount of stress. They could not disable sticker notifications (an existing feature) because they need to know when their posts are being rated and would turn the notifications back on even if it were disabled for them. Mind you, some of those users are in this very thread and making only the highest quality posts.
So the answer is to remove notifications for everyone, including the option to opt in to them, so these users will not be tempted to turn them on anyway and can finally feel safe posting about whatever it was that caused them to face such unjust ridicule in public threads to begin with. Not to mention, restoring the option now would be a sign of weakness and we can't have our Dear Leader showing any signs of that in these dangerous times, now can we?
If you find yourself skeptical of the believably of this explanation and feel motivated to speculate on whether or not these same users who cannot handle neg-rating notifications are also users who donate heavily to the forum for such special considerations or have some other form of leverage over Nulltax . . . well, fuck you! That just means you're a dopamine addicted stickernigger. You just don't understand that by protecting a specific cohort of users from the consequences of their own bad posts, engaging in arbitrary decision making and mod-favoritism, all that stuff makes the website LESS like reddit somehow.
