What if the real sticker notifications were the friends we made along the way?
Follow along with the video below to see how to install our site as a web app on your home screen.
Note: This feature may not be available in some browsers.
And make those notifications forcefully turned on. So now you'll get notifications against your will when:Fuck yes. The malding will be wonderful
Your fucks are in another thread!Where is the third option of don't give a fuck either way ?
I would vote for this Hitler guy.
Prove it. Give us a good reason why we're delusional null.
I got it before even voting, so I doubt it was a reason.
Cant say I quite care, I turned off sticker notifications because they can get obnoxious, specially when drive-by posters shat up the more niche threads.
I'm fairly certain I read that I read in one of Josh' posts this was one of the reasons the chain DM's were popular before people started making them just for generating kahntent. The former is an issue, the latter is just mild trolling. I'll try to find the post.
EDIT: it wasnt a post, he said it in this weeks MATI.
Motherfucker if someone kills themselves over fucking stickers they didn't have much to live for in the first place
You're shit's all retarded and you're talking like a fag.
Ultimately it's your site and you can cry if you want to, but don't you think it says something if a sizable portion of your userbase found a feature useful, even if it didn't fit the autistically rigid way you'd like then to use it? This is a hell of a meltdown, nobody is crying that they lost their reddit karma, they're upset a useful feature got removed because you got MATI.
This is how i imagine the kiwis that don't engage in meta discussion have been for the last 2 days

I like the sticker reacts because it's a way to interact with a thread when you have no actual information or comments to add. Plus the highlight feature is super useful in bigger busier threads. Getting notifications is nice because I'm a human and humans are social creatures and it is nice to have my posts acknowledged with stickers of people agreeing or disagreeing or just expressing appreciation for providing information.
Frankly I don't really see why the entire userbase is being punished for the retarded actions of a handful of faggots, that's just retard public school behavior. That sort of punishment is used to make the majority peer pressure the troublemakers into behaving but that can't be done if they're doing all their faggotry in private DM chains in the first place.
Anyway

just throwing in my retarded 2 cents; i don't give a fuck about the loss of post points or whatever shit. i liked the interaction that the notifications gave, showing you that people are seeing what you say and having some kind of thought about it.
unlike on a shithole like reddit, i can see that people - good or bad - are actually seeing what i say. it's always been one of the things i enjoyed ever since moving to KF. if ya gotta keep 'em gone, i'll get over it, but it's a feature i liked as one of your users.
Then it would make more sense to take your problem to the actual people causing it, the faggots making reports about stickers and mass inviting everyone to DMs against their will. Even though the site already had functionality to deal with both of those issues that users refuse to use. But apparently 80% of the site is in the wrong, not the small minority of faggots that actually cause you problems.
I don't report people or clog up talk to staff because my feelings are hurt. I stay loyal to this site even though it's constantly down and broken and for some reason I'm being made out to be the retard for not wanting to be fucked with. I don't appreciate being gaslit for speaking up about valid complaints. Not that you care.
User safety has absolutely nothing to do with withholding posting because people are afraid of criticism. Getting notifications that you have the ability to turn off or getting mean stickers does not make a user more or less safe on this site. This is the same stupid cop-out that the woke play and I am shocked to hear this cognitive dissonance from you.
I feel like sticker notifications have been a positive overall and I don't understand the outrage. If someone posts something dumb, they deserve the negative sticker rates spamming them. If they get assmad over it and leave, then they weren't fit for here in the first place. I've been rated nothing but like 20+ negrates on posts sharing my opinion and I haven't given a shit. Only a coward would.
Along with this it also lets people see how their post is being received in general by the site's userbase. I feel like it just leads to the average newfag turning into a better user more.
I just liked knowing if people were reading my posts without having to check back on the page itself. A lot of people aren't going to type out full replies and that's what stickers are for. I just want to browse other parts of the site after doing something like updating a thread I'm working on and not having to sit there and monitor if people thought how I changed update formats were positive or negative or things to that effect.
Yeah and I was on your side because I also use received ratings to remember which threads I've been looking at recently and I didn't see why people shouldn't be able to get it as a bell note if they wanted, but now my enjoyment over how mad and dumb so many people are getting over stickers has taken the wheel.
My worthless 2 cents is that stickers might have prevented low-effort posts like "I agree!" or "disagree," people can express a thought without responding. IMO if server load etc isn't a factor then a compromise might be only positive, complementary, or neutral stickers.
Either way, people should appreciate that if it makes null's job/life easier, it's also a good thing. You guys have to realize that if null gets too fucking annoyed at the community he can tell the site to go fuck itself at any time and use his skills a much more profitable way. Managing a "mostly free speech" community is far, far more hellish than intuition would suggest. Don't get under null's skin more than the trannies do, he doesn't have to do this. This entire website runs on his back, not yours, and he has to worry about more than just the userbase itself.
I don't really have anything to say that hasn't already been said. Sticker notifs were mildly useful and I won't be crying over their removal, but I think it's a bad call. Up to you, though, Josh.
What I do wonder is who complained about it. Say what you will, but people running into DMs because of negative stickies are massive faggots.
Everyone keeps bringing up reddit or X, but wouldn't the main difference be that a forum is linear? It doesn't matter how good or bad your post is; it will remain exactly where it is. Reddit and X push posts/comments based on engagement, which is what builds the idea of false consensus, and a forum doesn't. You can get a million little stickers, but it won't make your post more "special" in terms of visibility.
But I've said before, I just like knowing people read what I post, and found the little sticker notifications useful in that way. It's not a huge deal, but it was nice. Is a wee bit of dopamine on an internet forum because someone liked something you said that terrible?
I really don’t follow forum metadrama that much. I just get surprised by the changes and end up confused, trying to figure out why or what changed, if it’s me, something I did or someone else…
I will figure it out but I guess I’ve been using it wrong- I use the watch feature but sometimes don’t get back to a thread before it disappears down the list, and I only have so much time to browse. The notifications remind me of where I’ve been having active conversations at least.
Also, who has their feeling hurt by stickers? Learn to self-regulate your emotions. When I get the dumb or mati stickers, I just shrug, other people can have opinions, thanks for the feedback. Sometimes I am dumb and mad at the internet, it happens.
I wish you all well and hope you have a great day, and once I figure it out I hope to see you out there in the threads.
people getting mad about being neg-rated was a non-issue to begin with.
I remember Null once saying something to the effect that Lowtax and Moot went wrong once they started to lose the pulse of the everyday user experience. Stickers are too minor to doompost about, but Null clearly didn't understand how a sizeable portion of the userbase uses the website. Now he knows but he's too stubborn to let it go. He'll have it be a trail period to see how the forum is without the notifications and if everyone has gotten tired of bitching he'll say "Told you it wasn't so bad, you big babies" or if people keep complaining, he'll acquiesce and say something like "Fine, the mongoloid masses have won. Everyone gets stickers back and here's some confetti you drooling retards."
i will say, i found the various notifications to be a major advantage of actually making an account rather than just guest lurk. this led me to be more engaged in the forum, and ultimately led to me donating to the war fund.
but that's still just a relatively small complaint. this forum is great, and i'm glad i had the opportunity to benefit from that system while it existed. if null says it's best to do away with it, well, it's his site. dude put his whole life into it at great personal cost. seems to be a weird thing for us as users to get tilted over. a reasonable complaint to an extent but nothing to fight over

what the fuck stickerbros, 2024 was supposed to be our year. it is SO fucking over.
Like I said, it's his site and he can cry if he wants to, but knee-jerks like this are why I've never donated to anything Josh has asked for. He will make brash and retarded decisions, and then call you retarded for trying to explain to him why what he did was retarded.
if i had the power to delete your image and replace it with a thumbnail i would have without a second's hesitation.
While this is not a sticker boop I gave you aI just wanna see the sticker boops in my notifications but if can’t have that, that’s okay. I’m just happy I got a place to hang out with my frens.
I think some people are not understanding how this could lead to less engagement. I am not saying this in a threatening way to Null. It's not like most people will leave because of this change. I'm certainly not going to leave because of this. It's not THAT big of a deal.
But I think it will lead to less engagement accidentally. For example: usually when I make a post, I'm trying to kill time at work. I'll make some comments on a thread, then leave, never thinking about it again. Hours later, I'll come back and see my reaction notifications and then think "oh yeah, I made a comment there, guess the thread is moving" and click back to it, usually replying some more, which in turn keeps the thread active.
With the notifications gone, I'm not going to do that anymore unless someone is replying to me. I can foresee this happening to not just me, but all the other users who also use notifications as a reminder. Overtime, you'll see less comments because people aren't being reminded and they forget about the thread.
Some people will say this is being lazy. I agree. I am lazy and busy, and opt for the easiest route with the least amount of clicks. Again, I'm not going to leave KF or stop posting, just pointing out that a lot of people have attention spans the size of ants and will not put in more effort to use another feature, even if that extra effort only takes an additional 3 seconds. That's just how a lot of people are and this has always been a problem for other platforms that make subtle changes and then end up walking it back when they realize a big chunk of their user base has ADHD.
I'm starting to think Catler got the last laugh
IThere's no better way currently to keep track of threads on a short term basis quickly and easily without them. I don't give a fuck about all the other gaynigger options people keep kindly offering. Those options take longer. That shit is user hostile and in this case it's because some faggots cried because stickers made them hide in dms whether you are personally affected by it or not it's an absolutely retarded thing to do for an absolutely retarded reason.
Your comment sounds very educational so I want you to know you get aReaction stickers have become an essential component of modern communication, revolutionizing the way we express emotions and reactions on KiwiFarms. These stickers transcend language barriers and cultural differences, allowing individuals to convey complex feelings in a quick and straightforward manner. By providing a wide range of emotions such as love, laughter, anger, and sadness, reaction stickers enhance the emotional depth of digital interactions and promote empathy and understanding. Furthermore, they have become a significant tool for retards, trannies, and individuals to engage with their peers on KiwiFarms and convey messages effectively. In today's fast-paced and digitized society, reaction stickers have fundamentally altered the way we connect, communicate, and share our emotions with others, making them an indispensable part of our daily lives.
There is apparently a new sticker out now but it is not available in the emojis. Therefore I can only give you aI can't see join dates anymore![]()
I am giving you aGood evening sir/ma'am. You may be wondering why I rated your post "thunk provoking," that is if you have seen the rating. If so, or if not, this post will serve to explain why I rated your post thusly, and will hopefully defuse any anxiety or tension you may have felt at such an ambivalent rating.
You see, I don't really agree, or disagree with your post. I think Null would still hold onto the site, if only out of sheer will, spite and begrudging attachment. But at the same time he is a bit of a loose cannon, this Null. So I cannot say for sure, and this may in fact simply be the last day for Kiwifarms. I'm not a mind reader. In any case, I just wanted to alert you to my thoughts on your post and give you a heads up that there is no reason to feel like I targeted you or disagreed with you, in fact I think you're a great poster and even admire your pfp. Hope you have a great night!
I gave you a
Quick reminder this is why everyone is mad about losing their stickers.

I like notifications because I can click and go to that thread quickly, but I don’t care about the score.
Only one person would receive that sticker, and it would be BoxerShorts@Null if you're gonna be adding entirely new stickers you might as well add this one

Less engagement from people who only post to get stickers and not because they have something to say is a good thing actually.I think some people are not understanding how this could lead to less engagement.
No, that's when Null redirects "by mistake" every page of the forum towards the Catboy Ranch. Is this what Keffals meant when he said Null would get sloppy?
Says you JoshLess engagement from people who only post to get stickers and not because they have something to say is a good thing actually.
That is a sticker for absolute pozzed threads. I love it@Null if you're gonna be adding entirely new stickers you might as well add this one

You guys did not make this easy with your constant posting, but I've made it through almost another 30 pages to give some of you quote notifications to some of your posts.
