Should sticker notifications be brought back?

No, that shit is fucking gay. All is needed is like/dislike, and agree/disagree, and it definitely doesn't need notifications.
I say this as nicely as possible, but holy shit you're missing the point.

Forums have had reputation systems for decades, long before Reddit or Twitter existed. They led to spergouts like this all the time too, which were hilarious.
Yeah, shitty ones did later on. They weren't universal and were more of a novelty, and the impact is different when the userbase wasn't a horde of zoomers with these systems pre-etched on their brains. Not that I ever saw the point outside of maybe certain uptight tech boards back then either.

It is beyond optimistic of you to think stickers are why groupthink happens.
Exclusively no, but what we're specifically talking about here is whether our forum should continue using basically the same mechanism that turned Reddit into a tedious monoculture inside of a year or two.

How is it that some gay furfag I have never heard and will never hear of again has damaged the site more then DDoS attacks?
Right, almost every forum these days has some type of rating system to gauge who's actually adding value to the place, ffs even my boat forum has rating scores. Only one that doesn't is something like 4chan or some niche technical car forums which really don't need them. A site dedicated to internet drama def needs some scoring system. The spergouts over scores comes with running a forum.

Edit: I will say removing the group DMs was a good idea, they seemed to be becoming degenerate discord grooming dens lite.

Like, boohoo for the people struggling with having to use a forum the way every forum used to work, but if this shit sticks it's going to be a great thing for the site.
You mean like how everyone stayed in their niche subforums?
Yeah great thing totally.

No no let him cook.
I want to see the excuses after that one.
I just want to reiterate that I'm absolutely floored that there are apparently a sizable chunk of people that weren't using reaction notifications to navigate the site.
Bet if we look at their post historry they literally only go to like one subforum of a subforum.

This is a weird nonsequitor because people do that now; Null talks about how people do it all the time so I'm not sure how you'd expect anyone to buy it; I don't see how sticker pings constructively change that given they never have; and I'm not sure why it's meant to be a bad thing? It's a big forum dude.

Yes people do it all the time.
Want to know what the people that didn't do it all the time use to keep track of shit?

Not bookmarking some random-ass comment that's for sure.

In "old forums" I have to keep track of like a few threads max. In farm smaller niches than "lolcow salon."

In here. I have to keep track of multiple lolcows, not just threads. Then specific threads in specific forums that might not get updates for years because they're about games/food/law cases/apparently fart porn OF releases.

To make no mention of lolcows that DFE and then someone has some revelation that they're on an alt or some shit. Like the shit with byuu and the urn. I got reminded of that solely from updoots.

And then there's Felix.

Want to know the alternative to sticker notifications I'm probably going to be using?
I'm probably going to be using the system that shows when I replied to a thread on the first page and checking each one manually.

Meaning, to unclutter this shit. I will actively avoid going into threads OR going to the second page of the subforums. Which is apparently what our ooperator doesn't want?
