Someone advertised their own comicbook Kickstarter on the forum and this has literally never happened before. It has never been wise to ever admit to posting on the forum or associating it with your projects, so I've never had to think about it before. On this path of LEGITIMIZATION ™️, it's now less bad to be on the forum.

It raises the question of if this is actually against the rules. Spam is not allowed and I nuke spammers all the time, but actually participating in a relevant thread and then saying you're making an alternative that you're selling (and have successfully sold; his kickstarter is already funded) is a new one.

On one hand, total advertiser death.
On the other hand, entrepreneurship is based,

On one hand, advertisements are annoying and we're not being compensated for ad space.
On the other hand, allowing people active in certain industries to utilize the forum to discuss their work in relevant threads is probably a boon.

I'm actually leaning towards tolerating it as long as it's gentle or relevant. Something Awful had a lot of people pitching projects at its peak.

Poll results not binding. Discussion encouraged.

I approve but for selfish reasons. Occasionally some retard will show up to pitch something extremely lulzy and we get a new lolcow thread out of it.

Last one I can think of was that autistic black guy and his manga where he was a Korean high school student fighting zombies or some shit.

That was funny.

I'd say yes. Either it's good and relevant and the creator is a brave motherfucker for publicly hitching it to KiwiFarms, or it's shit and everyone gets to laugh as the dumb bastard gets torn apart by the baying hordes.

It's a great chance for us to see based content, and support our own. But you got titanium balls to do it.

As long as they're unobtrusive I don't see the harm. Maybe a designated thread on the economics forum for shilling your shit would do.

If they want to voluntarily let their stuff be associated with da ebil terrorist site known as Kiwifarms sure. People have made far more dumber decisions as documented here

I think this would pair well with the new self-sufficiency board. People want equipment or a tool to do X and a lot of folks in that space make a lot of cool stuff specific for that use-case.

I think it falls into the military argument that anyone dumb enough to use this platform to advertise on gets what they deserve?

Unless it’s super annoying and interrupts or distracts from actual discussion then I see no problem with it. Let the autistic entrepreneurs have their fun.

I'm voting no because some I've seen get very complacent and become a lot more aggressive with their self-promotions.
Also, wouldn't this inevitably unban Kinochet? He was one of the most prolific and annoying self-promoters even if it was funny for maybe 3 posts. KAP on the other hand lets his work speak for itself, the same as Jarbo the Hutt. Not saying they've promoted their work but they are members known for good work.

Dunno. I'm fine with it, just don't be an annoying faggot.

Yeah, it's not only good for the guy advertising their work but it shows other kiwis things they might not find otherwise. You could find non-pozzed webcomics and such, support like-minded people. As long as it's relevant and isn't spam, I don't see the harm.

As long as it's a cool project. I wouldn't want a bunch of faggy youtubers/streamers shilling their stuff but if some small time game dev wants to hang out in a place that's more open for discussion I don't see a problem. Like that Palestinian guy who made the jew killing game, he's pretty cool.

seems like it would be really easy for the userbase to chase out retarded niggerfaggots just trying to shill garbage here. it's already a death knell to be associated with us by proxy, so anyone willing to put the kiwifarms on a list of places their product was advertised is either insane, agrees with the forum, or will be instantly filtered by being called a retarded niggerfaggot muzzie kike.

the bottom line would have to be 'don't be an annoying faggot about it.'
