Probably fine, as long as it's limited in scope and clearly marked.

One possibility would be to create a restricted thread for self-advertising. Although that might backfire. People making a webcomic (or whatever) will want to advertise in the webcomic thread, not Shill General.

@Null.

Create a new board for people to advertise whatever deranged shit they want. It will raise the profile of KWF in a positive way. Make rules that only PERSONAL products are advertised, not ones created by another company.
Maybe create a new free tier where they can only access the advertisement board, as a way for people to have plausible deniability. "I didn't know they could say niggerfaggot! I'm just here to self promote!" and give them their own tag.

However, do not let these people dictate what can and cannot be said on the farms. If some shit-weasel wants to advertise a massive product on here and gains serious popularity, don't also let them begin to dictate the direction of the farms because "it hurts my product."
This.

Also Null needs to make sure that he clamps down on people trying to claim “Kiwi Farms supports X or Y” without any evidence in their advertisements. I think the reward is high, but so is the risk because it’s so easy for bad actors to take advantage of this to hurt the forum.

I dunno. On one hand, there are definitely based cases and doing it is ballsy. And potentially funny if its cringe.

On the other, I've seen this destroy communities because someone gets popular as a seller and there's like 20 ways it goes sideways and stupid. The potential risk to the sort of cultural cohesion we have here is big in the long run.

It also will probably encourage some retarded powerlevel stupidity which, seems to be more of an issue lately. I'm gonna go with no.

I think it's fine if it's from actual contributing members, not just people who signed up to shill.

I think something casual like name dropping your book, or fanfic should be fine. But spammers or people derailing conversations to spam products should be banned.

I do think people should still think twice before promoting something, Don’t bleed among sharks. And don’t forget many communities will shun, just for posting here.

In the golden years newfaggots like you would have been halal'd within the week of registration and sent running back to the safety of your reddit and tumblr pages.

To type up giant walls of text about how the big bad K-Farmers are evil and you totally aren't bad like them, that your curiosity got the best of you. That you've let the rebellious urge to be naughty and edgy run through your veins, but at heart you are truly a good Christian boys.

Newfaggots like you and this kind of newfaggotry like thinking is what is ruining this website. You and your kin are the nail in the coffin of what was once the great Kiwi Farms. You should be ashamed to call yourself a K-Farmer. In fact, I bet you don't even call yourself one, do you? You're ashamed aren't you? What would mommy and daddy say if they found out?

What about your friends, your popularity? No, a newfaggot like you would never feel pride in their interactions with this community, would never proudly wear their K-Farmer shirts in public. I have 4 official and 1 counterfeit, but that's besides the point because a newfaggot like you would never own a single one let alone wear it outside of the safety of their bedroom!

Fuck off newfaggot, fuck off all of you newfaggots. You sicken me.

Go do a kickflip into traffic.

I got a project I'm working on, keeping it lowkey so I don't get too invested in it but once I have enough to put up on some site I may share it. And put archives here. FYI it's a western (wild west) type comic.

I like that it might give kiwifarms money, that's good.
But it doesn't take the ads away from other people, it just makes you a part of the platforms people advertise on.

I would love for them to ditch reddit in the off chance though

I think it should be based on the age of the account, or post history. If they are just joining the farms to milk the users for engagement or datasets for ML, fuck em. If the guy posts regularly in the programming thread, posting a relevant project they need contributors to is fine.

The farms is a website with thousands of concurrent users. A creator should only be allowed to request people's time or engagement if they've given some of their own.

CrunkLord is an active user and Terry is a major part of forum culture. His posts about the TempleOS game engine should be allowed to stay. A user made yesterday called KiwiDatingAppOfficial with 0 posts should not be allowed to promote a dating site they are developing even if posted in the incel or Man Hate Threads where it might be relevant.

This is really unique and could probably benefit lolcow-related activities too. Let's say someone programmed a scraper that grabs public information and presents it in a clean, easy-to-read form (think Doxbin, KF and 4chan archives rolled into one package). That could make documenting people much more easier. If someone advertises a tool like that, it would be good for what most people are here for.

On the other hand, it would be really great for PR. Instead of KF being seen as a shithole, people might see it more as a mental health discussion/self-improvement website. I know it sounds cliché but it could be good for the world, the opposite of places like Discord and the sharty.

With fair moderation, this will work.
