As someone that classes themself as a "kiwi streamer", it would be nice to promote my stuff.

I don't see how this could ever be classified as "not spam". I also don't see how this aligns with the ideals of laughing at retards.

Edit: I also don't want to see KF become a viable advertisement target, surreptitiously or otherwise. If what you have to peddle is good people will talk about it with a $0.00 marketing budget. When I say total advertiser death I mean TOTAL. ADVERTISER. DEATH.

I think there's a lot of fair concerns about site quality. it seems like a pretty surefire way to bring in retards who refuse to lurk more and turn this site into something the likes of 4chan, Twitter, Reddit & other sites that mostly consist of low-quality posting with a shitty userbase & barely any high-quality content, if at all.

with that said, I do think there's potential in allowing people to network using this site. The Farms is in a pretty good position to find people of similar ilk; it has a pretty good userbase, and it has the press brought on by mainstream sources, I am 100% behind the prospect of building up a support web of likeminded websites, entertainment and potentially even businesses as an alternative to the current, mainstream clear net.

I don't know; this isn't an easy question to answer, IMO. This isn't a bad idea, but if we were to go through with it, it'd take a lot of work and effort to build something that wouldn't affect site quality as a whole.

Edit: thinking on this, I think it would be best if we only let standing members come in and promote their work, instead of having it be an open ground for random people to shill. I think there is a whole lot of potential energy sitting around in the userbase, but its limited in application due to the fact that members dont have an outlet to promote endeavours that are more than just thread on one of the boards.

If you do it, pre-emptively range ban all users with Indian or other SEA based IPs so that the site isn't flooded with shitass crypto scam ads and links. Can't yell you how many sites I use that opened up to open ads and they've been near unusable thanks to "BEST FREE BITCOIN GAME PK" or some similar shit.

@Null You should really coin out the rules and boundaries for this. And while you're at it, add something funny, like "if thou shill thine slop in my realm, thou shalt send me review copy(or equivalent)(if applicable). And then you may actually review the funnier ones at your stream if it would be a slow week.

Have some kind of post count/join date rule so newfags don't just join and spam (more than I'm sure they already do).

On one hand, total advertiser death.
On the other hand, entrepreneurship is based,
Advertisers are cancerous middlemen buying eyeshare to shove shit into places it really shouldn't ever be. Autists sharing that they're doing something really autistic for other autists benefit is only a net benefit as long as its in reasonable places - Either its cool and we get to know about a cool thing, or its retarded and we can mercilessly flame them for being retards and wasting our time. And if they're too stupid to stay in the appropriate containment, they eat a ban.

I say try it, its win/win if it works out, and if retards abuse it and waste mods time, then throw it out again. I can't imagine too many will be wanting to associate themselves to the farms still.

Well, we could be. A tiny rectangle as a banner like how 4chan does it, linking to whoever is crazy enough to advertise here could work. As long as they're paying for legit ad space, the ads aren't predatory, aren't targeted, etc. I don't see why not. If it isn't gayed up, money is money.

There are thousands of people perusing this website everyday, and everytime something big leaks there are even more. Even Mutahar admitted to sourcing from Farms. No way the influx of people clicking on relevant links doesn't make at least some pocket money.

4chan has a 250x300 block on the top and bottom of the page. You don't normally see it because you block ads. The ads they have are usually some crypto scam, Discord groups, or some e-thot's Onlyfans page.

As long as it's from a real poster who just happens to be promoting something they're working on it should be fine, it'd only be an issue if people start joining the site just to promote shit, this would be easy but tedious for staff to snuff out by checking post history, but worst case scenario if too many people start spamming or joining just to promote you could reverse it and blanket ban it, opening the gates a bit won't cause any long term serious damage

I'd personally like to have some type of 3D modelling thread that doesn't have floods of people post the same donut they modeled for the first time on blender. It would be a breath of fresh air.
