Option 3: Make them pay. Make the fee painfully high.

Spammers spam because it's free. If someone has some passion project and thinks the farms is the venue where they should advertise? Bill them.

No one selling filk music or skibbidy faggotry, you want to sell something? Pony up some fucking money.

Perhaps it should only be allowed for established posters who have a minimum proven level of participation, and not just someone who joined the forum just to shill?

Let's be honest, a lot of faggots use the Kiwifarms like their personal directory of topics to cover while never acknowledging or crediting anyone involved in gathering the information or creating the thread.

We have YouTubers on here that only joined with the explicit intent of being able to get info from the farms and who never contributed a single meaningful conversation to the forum.

Kiwitubers should absolutely be a culture on YouTube. I think the idea that mentioning Kiwifarms becomes a death sentence is retarded. I use the farms as a source for a lot of my streams (with credit given to authors etc) because the farms is actually reliable as a source due to the culture of checking authenticity and avoidance of gayops.

I think we've somehow driven ourselves in to this concept that most people have an opinion on the Kiwifarms and its culture because of the same trope of thinking the trannies and journos actually represent any significant majority of public interest.

To put it simply: Everyone else is getting a payday off of the farms yet the farms has consistently stopped it own people from being to share and build an audience. It is counterproductive to building an outward momentum on changing the narrative.

The more visibility the farms gets from normal, not fucking insane members online and openly the better. Someone that broadcasts with the Kiwifarms openly obviously already accepts the risks that comes with it... but frankly the website isn't illegal; nothing we do is illegal; so they can suck a dick about it.

Its kind of a double edged sword. On one hand you get promo....kind of. But on the other hand its like signing your own death warrant to advertise, like the black man that posted his manga attempt. I assume he still is hoping to one day get big enough that Japan will worship him.

 about this over some more, here's another question to ask you null; what do you want self-promotion to look like on this site? I can't speak for you, but for me, self-promotion would, ideally, be structured from the middle out, where all ideas for ventures, entertainment, etc., would start here, gain momentum here, and stay connected here on some level, no matter what, even if they had more than enough offsite support to go completely independent.

I am thinking of stuff like the Kiwi Station server or the game engine running on TempleOS, but on a much grander scale: to use the platform not only as a launchpad for these projects but as a tether, making sure it never completely disconnects from this site & its values. the LAST thing I want is for this place to be a free-for-all where randoms looking for le epic hacker Kiwi clout can shill their grift of the day.

what this would look like in practice is another question entirely.

I'm fine with people promoting themselves on this site but the best thing to do would be including some sort of flag attached to the account. Something that says this man is posting with a possible financial incentive.

If this retard gets to advertise his comic, then so do I

I think it's alright, if their thing is shit then everyone can laugh at them, and if it's good then that's good too. It's entertaining either way.

to be honest if its in its own subforum and requires mod approval to be posted then I'm all for it.
with how many terrible, lazy, faggot infested companys there are, having a few we know are sane, reliable and of good quality, would be a great addition.
so long as they don't post in other topics (relevant or not). if people want your service, they'll come to you.

anyways guys that's all for my ted talk video, don't forget to subscribe to me at NiggerSlayer42069.

I don't mind it if it's relevant to the topic and not excessive. A quick "here's this thing I'm working on that is related to what we're talking about, you might like it" is fine. Constant Kinochet-style plugging for attention or spambots for Chinese dildos is not. Might as well accept this person's goodwill so long as they aren't being a nuisance.

As long as there are guidelines in place to filter out Degenerate Art/Projects then I don't see an issue, so long as people aren't spamming.

What if there were threads dedicated to letting the advertisers talk in depth and promote in their specific genre that people could easily look up after they chime into [insert thread/discussion here]?

For example, if there was a conversation about faggot game devs putting a chick in it and making it gay, and an up and coming indi game dev slides in and promotes themself as NOT fake and gay, they can refer to the game advertisement thread if people want to seek out more information about the project.

I might be a retard and making it complicated though
