Open relationships are respectable treaties between reasonable adults. The 'relationships' in this thread are just straight up cheating from one party and the other being so mentally fucked they try to reason it.

Look at that other story. Two fatties; one gets fit, the other stays a fat neckbeard. "Oh shit.. I can actually get a boyfriend who satisfies me in more ways than "we're both losers, at least we're less of losers if we're together". 'Open' relationships exist in two extremes: Fatties who don't care cus their life is in ruins anyway, and the hyper-confident stud who travels for work and fucks left and right just like his wife, both knowing they can't find anyone better than the other but still want to get off.

Reminds me of this EDM festival documentary I watched. 4 mid-20s getting 'married' because they thought the acceptance of fucking left and right within their group must equal they can be lovers forever, and not just hormone raging retards on crack. Like, do these people enjoy struggling with their relationship til it ends? Isn't the whole point to get together with someone you can be fat and lazy with, yet still dress up and put on a mask when you meet up with friends in public?

What if a woman had that arrangement with two men who are identical twins and had identical twins from one of them and then got the two adult twins to raise the baby twins? How that be cuckholdery?
Depends on who the judge puts on child support.
If both, then one is getting kind a cucked but since nobody knows for certain it does not count I guess plus the mother gets double the money. So if you can get 2 twins to bone you, go for it for extra cash, if you are poly anyway you got a good excuse.
If just one because the judge relies on the testimony of a very unreliable witness, someone is a cuckoldess without even trying but then who is cucked?

@Cryonic Haunted Bullets How do you get that graph?
Is the similarity score based on overlapping user bases?

The core principle is "guilt by association" - if the same user comments in two subreddits they are likely to be linked in interest. So, each subreddit can be represented by a mathematical vector that summarizes how often users commented in that subreddit and also each of the other subreddits.

Oh, gosh, the subsequent pages are even better. You've got everything in there at the .5 or higher similarity mark. r/BPD. r/Wicca. r/Divorce. r/rapecounseling. r/Fibromyalgia. r/autism. r/SexWorkers. r/crochet. It's every poly stereotype at once.

:story:

Just imagine how many polyamorous munchies there must be to give this result. Simply amazing.
It seems like almost every poly I run into online or otherwise has the old "fibro." The only thing that surprises me about all of this is that some of them have the self-awareness to actually know they have borderline personality disorder.

:stress:
I don't want to know why this is connected to poly. The best thing I can think of is going poly is a response to trauma, and that makes me sad.
Environments that allow arrogant men to do whatever they want without consequence will have higher rates of sexual assault. This is especially true in alternative sexual environments where the percentage of men who don't understand social rules is significantly higher than normal.

Here's a very good post: http://archive.fo/kyLNV. The title is 'Time to Put Ethics into 'Ethical' Non-Monogamy: Polyamory Shouldn't be an Excuse for Narcissistic Behavior--or Libertarian/Objectionistic Politics'. The overarching theme is a complaint against what we see here all the time: polyamorists not caring about anyone else's feelings and thinking this is morally acceptable.

One of the comments and its subsequent mini-thread is predictable:

(I had to stitch these together because my screen isn't big enough to get the whole thing, but the final comment was nested directly under the penultimate comment.)

She posts more further down the thread and gets a similar but equally dismissive response from other polys. (It's a long comment chain, which is why I'm not posting more screenshots). There's another sad normie married to a poly too.

One person writes:
Poly communities seem to be a candy store for particularly disordered personalities.
You don't say!

The post is mostly all right. The attempt to connect it to libertarian politics is mostly wrong. The poly community is full of people who abhor libertarianism, many of them self-identified socialists, who behave more like the author's stereotype of an objectivist than any objectivist could. This requires cognitive dissonance on the order of an MLP-hating CWC fan, but if anyone can manage that kind of idiocy, they can.

I hope this isn't PL since it's relevant to the topic at hand.

Years ago, I went to a NYE party . My bf at the time pointed out three people, two dudes and a woman, and told me they were polyamorous. They looked pretty much how you expect; one of the dudes even had a fedora on.

The entire night the woman and one of the men made out and were grinding on each other, completely ignoring the third dude, who was sitting on the sofa, glumly nursing a beer and looking like he wanted to off himself at the nearest available opportunity. Didn't even get a kiss at midnight.

Kinda when I realized poly people were inherently selfish and fucked in the head.
