Frankly, potentially unpopular opinion here, but all three adults in that particular situation were complete and utter pieces of shit. The OP could have been an adult and opened her fucking mouth and said “hey this shit sucks and I don’t like it” instead of shitting herself and doing nothing, fuming internally like a pissed off child. She admits that she didn’t even try to communicate so she’s not much better than the selfish asshole husband and the side hoe.
The aborted unborn kid had the best outcome, the side bitch’s child had the worst, having the misfortune to be born into a “family” of three assholes who shouldn’t be in a relationship with anyone at all, let alone bringing a kid into the world to fuck up her life before she even got a chance. Poor little girl.

So after dating for ~1 month, he dumped her because some other hoe wasn't okay with more than one other girlfriend.
I don't know what to take from this, maybe she thinks she matters more than she actually does? Or that his ex was hotter than OP and he only cares about getting laid? I don't know, but I thought this little fact was pretty interesting.
But it's a poly relationship so they're probably all crazy.

Another place in which the bitch showed her immaturity. I surely don’t advocate for anyone to carry a pregnancy to term if they don’t want it because the resulting child wouldn’t have asked to be born and yet would be a target for resentment and potential abuse (especially with these asshole crazy poly types). That said, this woman very well could have gotten birth control if she didn’t think she wanted to bring a child into this dynamic. Although considering that she wouldn’t communicate her unhappiness and feelings that the relationship wasn’t working, instead hoping that her husband would pick up on it and take the responsibility off her... she probably felt like birth control wasn’t her responsibility either.
After reading the whole saga, I get the feeling that she probably resented the little girl for existing because she was the side slut’s kid. Poor baby... maybe it’s for the better that she only has two shitty adults screwing her over without adding this selfish bitch’s influence as well. She’s still fucked with parents like the husband and the girlfriend but at least she won’t have the OP silently resenting her as she grows up.

Don't shame people for coming to their senses. I want to say "shame them for losing their minds in the first place" but even that is unfair to her. Good, she already has a mother who should be taking care of her. If the girl's being criminally neglected, there's the courts. If the woman wants to take care of a child and have more input into his or her upbringing (rather than have one forced on her and have no input that'll withstand a challenge from a shitty person), she can adopt or foster one and make a bigger difference.
It's neither invasive (there are more invasive fertility diagnostics procedures) nor traumatizing, and certainly vastly less so than pregnancy and childbirth.

what? at 16 weeks they have to use tools to dilate your cervix and physically remove the fetus, you can't do a medical abortion at that point. that's still an invasive procedure. abortion no matter how it's performed can traumatize a woman because of the potential social repercussions (or fear thereof)... though maybe traumatize is a harsh word. i don't think that it should be that way, but plenty of women have to deal with the shame of having had an abortion by themselves, and it can mess them up.
i think women should be allowed to get an abortion for literally any reason, but i also just think the idea that the woman got an abortion purely out of spite when she was in what seems to be a loveless marriage (that was opened up likely because the husband cheated on her and wanted an excuse to continue doing so guilt-free, and in which having kids was not considered until 9 years into the marriage itself, and only after the sidepiece had a kid first) is hilarious. even if that was the reason, the dude deserved it.
ETA: if you look through the woman's comment history you can find posts where she mentions they initially did not have kids because she has PCOS. she somehow lost 100 lbs in the last year -- going from 225 lbs to 125 -- and got pregnant afterwards. it's not the pregnancy itself that was a miracle, it's the fact the woman came to her senses before the kid was born.
