I had to go check the largest group I'm a part of on Facebook to see if more people were interested in art than polyamory.

The answer is yes. Thankfully.

Not going to lie the idea 18k people like polyamoury enough to join this group is mind boggling. Especially with a community as toxic and micromanaging.

Holy shit these are amazing. In that one about sex workers every person except Kylie is in gray meaning they either got banner or left the group. So it's basically just fucking Kylie ranting until everyone else is forced out of the room.

I love how obsessed they are over privilege. Because nothing says healthy relationship like flipping out over one person having more of something than you.

In my experience open relationships are built on a whole lot of not giving a damn and all this 'check ur privilege cis scum' just screams insane jealousy.

I admin a few medium sized groups and pages on facebook, and I get burnt out just doing that. I can't even imagine dealing with this. It's like they like having to deal with all of these ruled so they can act like they're so oppressed and and they have to put up with so much, etc., etc., when really, most of it's within their own control and if they weren't so unreasonable, it would be just fine.

This one might be the best of them. The idea that using a few lowercase letters will 1) change people's perception of you and your ridiculous virgin-with-rage sex jargon, or 2) DEGRADE you as a PROUD WOMYN is just hilarious to me.

Who would want to date any single one of these people, let alone en masse?

And is the Kylie bubble ever going to burst? Will "this scrambled egg of a human took over my forum and now there's nothing but SJ and tears" ever outweigh the desire to consult him as a Professional Token Everything?
 
I've never before seen a community with so many rules that have nothing whatsoever to do with the focus of the group. Virtually none of this has anything even tangentially to do with polyamory. It's like they just picked a word out of a hat for the title then immediately started trying to set up a tumblr utopia inside Facebook. My brain is having a hard time fathoming how they ever thought this had any chance of being anything more than a giant clusterfuck.

Then again, 18,000 members...

Fuck it. Tuesdays are now Hug A Minority Day here. Anyone who doesn't post a pic of them consent-hugging a minority person every Tuesday is banned. Also, the word "they" is offensive to people who do not identify as nouns. Use of this slur will result in you being banned.
