Titanic Sinclair apparently attempted to commit suicide after he discovered that Poppy was cheating on him with "rapper" Ghostemane.

Pop culture Youtuber Repzilla did an interview with Titanic Sinclair's brother Alex Mixter. Sinclair himself is supposedly moved in with family and is still recovering from his suicide attempt. Rumour has it online that Sinclair tried to hang himself using an item of Poppy's clothes.


Here's the part where the brother is being interviewed by Repzilla about his brother Corey Mixter turning into the Titanic Sinclair character and how this affected their relationship:

Every now and then I'd get these glimpses of Corey and it would make me, like, instantly cry. If I talked to him and I could tell that he was there, like, it would get to me in a way that nothing else could because I felt like I mourned the death of my brother. When Titanic Sinclair came home, it was like, "who the hell is this guy, and where the hell is my brother?". It just morphed into this thing where it was a character where it had gone, like, completely consumed everything. It's the same for Brittany and it's the same for Poppy. They became these people that they have to be playing because they have to be "on" all the time. Like, Poppy needed to be referred to as "Poppy". It was never Moriah. Like, my parents called her "Poppy". (...) When I got to see Corey, it would just get to me. And then when he got flown home after the suicide attempt, because he was on tour and then he comes come and then I'm outside with him, and it was like talking to my brother for the first time in 8 years. And that was really surreal. And I feel like it snapped him out of everything.

Alex Mixter also showed up on the Poppy subreddit where he did an AMA (referred to in the above interview) where he gave his take on the situation with Mars Argo and Poppy, predictably taking the side of his brother:

Mars Argo and Poppy are the same person. They're both women who are terrified of being normal people and will do literally anything to become pop stars, and my brother has, for years, been trying to decode the process of "making a pop star," so it was always a great fit. He has a very cynical perspective on the entertainment industry and that's reflected in ALL of his videos.

The reason the two projects are so similar is because it's the same guy doing both projects.

Neither Poppy nor Mars Argo are actually that creative, just very vain, cynical, and negative people who wanted to be famous.

I just wish they never dated, because that's the part that made everything messy.

The relationships were always great at first, Mixters love to fall in love, and then both relationships rapidly became void of anything substantial. It was just a commitment to reaching the goal.

Breaking wine glasses? Yeah he apparently did that, but as I said in another comment, that's just how they fought. They would get blackout drunk and sometimes Corey would show up at my apartment because Brittany just... kicked him out.

But this was after I lived with them, and when I lived with them I learned that Brittany is absolutely out of her mind.

She's the most self-centered and manipulative person I've ever met, and the part where he "viciously punched her in the face" was laughable. My brother and I have been in screaming matches growing up and we never once got physical. Brittany is like 5'2" and I don't give a shit how drunk Corey gets, he wouldn't do that.

Fighting for them was verbal, and they attack things that get under your skin, but Brittany was often the one who needed to be restrained and physically removed from an environment. Fun nights.

The part where he was trashing Borns, man that was hard to watch. I remember when Corey discovered Borns, and he told me, "this dude is going to be huge. He looks like Johnny Depp and he has the voice of an angel." At the time, he had a pompadour haircut and was doing raps on a ukulele. Corey introduced him to the producer he was working with for Mars Argo. We both played the same stage at Summerfest, and while Borns won Best New Artist, me and the other guys in Mars Argo all quit because of how fucking miserable it was being in a band with Brittany. Corey brought him out to LA and introduced him to bands like T. Rex, and Borns completely adopted the Marc Bolan look. Corey also helped write songs, made videos for him, and the moment Borns took off, he dropped everyone.

Poppy is doing the same thing right now, and it's always rubbed Corey the worst way, because he's incredibly invested in these projects.

Why am I coming forward now? Because she aired out the incredibly personal info that my brother recently attempted suicide, and I believe she's doing it as a marketing ploy for her new album, to ride the cancel culture wave that she saw consume Corey from the MA lawsuit.

Look at the language she's using, there is nothing to it other than "he tried to kill himself to manipulate me," when he's actually fucking depressed that she cheated on him after he built everything up to this point.

Notice how he's just a creative partner in that statement, and not someone she's been dating for years?

Notice how nobody knew they broke up, other than photos of her new boyfriend showing up on the internet?
He's not "using her friends as his next experiment," she fired the entire band, she fired the management, and everyone is wondering what the fuck she's doing.

Right now she wants to bury him and prove that she did this all herself. But she didn't. My brother created everything that propelled her to where she is now. I've always wanted to say something but I stayed out of it, and now that Corey is out of the project completely and she is trying to ruin his life, and she found it necessary to publicly announce the suicide attempt that my family has been grappling with? Fuck it. I'm an open book, and both MA and Poppy have a lot to hide.

When I read industrial hip hop, I expected Ghostmane to be like a 21st century version of Fear Factory or Tura Satana or something like that.

So Poppy dropped the alt-nerd for the Soundcloud rap badboy covered in tats. God, I hope Poppy herself doesn't go Soundcloud rap, that'd be sad. I didn't like Sinclair's cover version of Metal though, because IMO rather lazily ripped off from the 2000 Nine Inch Nail cover of the same song. Titanic Sinclair, you're just not Trent Reznor, OK? Don't even go there. Sorry you guys, you know I like industrial and goth, I just don't like Poppy going industrial and goth, it's just too lazy and uninspired. Poppy should do her very own unique electronic music like Bjork or Zola Jesus or surprise everyone and go acoustic as she gets older like Lady Gaga did.

Wow. I'm not sure who to believe. You could say it's unlikely two of his former lovers/collaborators would both lie about him (especially when they seemed to hate each other), but people do tend to pick the same "types" over and over...

Didn't Poppy get into some beef with Grimes after collaborating with her? Seems like Grimes didn't want to be associated with the TS/Mars Argo/Poppy drama, maybe...

Well, I guess we'll see just how much TS was responsible for Poppy's talent/success, won't we? She's definitely going in a new direction.

I thought grimes was on friendly terms with argo. They have a lot of mutuals as far as I know. Poppy is a pariah in some circles, mostly because a lot of semi-well connected people side with mars.
 
I feel the old saying that the truth is usually somewhere in between is spot on for this situation. I imagine all three people are kind of arseholes and we witnessed some kind of arsehole perfect storm. I got into Poppy after seeing a Night Mind video about her and later discovered Mars Argo. I checked out when the lawsuit stuff happened but to be honest I was already losing interest because the debut album was pretty underwhelming for me. A lot of artists reach that stage where they become caricatures of themselves (one of my favourites The Smashing Pumpkins for example) but it had already happened to her by the time the first album came out. Both Poppy and Mars Argo feel like things that could have been for different reasons.

I really loved the new album. Ngl I couldn't care less about Titanic Failclare. Hes been known for being a talentless fuckboy years, it's no shocker Poppy jumped ship and dumped his ass the second they got signed to a new label. Sure she used his already existing contacts to get her career started but she's been doing the bulk of the work both musically and creatively for awhile now.
