@Null, I have a suggestion, if it is technically possible to implement. We should be able to search through our ratings based on what threads we have rated posts. People like me tend to rate posts a lot, which allows us to see where exactly we stopped reading a thread. This is especially more noticeable in threads with 100+ pages we stopped looking at but want to get back to. It's kinda annoying to go through every page to get back to where we were last time we read the thread, especially if we forgot the number the thread was at.

I know that we automatically go to the latest post when we visit a previously read thread, but our computers and browsers can change a lot over the years and thus we have to turn back manually every time our stuff changes. If my suggestion is possible to implement, I'd appreciate it.

And yes, I know the Watch Thread mechanic exsts. But it does not work every time. I know of threads that I know I watched but it does not always give me an alert when a new post is made.

I think a fish hook rating is about the only rating we're really missing. Well, maybe a Ween rating too. Threads get derailed all the time when someone buys another user's bait and it spirals into a slapfight that ruins the thread, and those posts usually get erased in thread cleanups anyway. It's usually at its worst in Community Watch threads.

A few years back, Null added fish hooks to posts to send a clear message to idiots that "this is bait". Making it a rating would send a heads-up to users who would normally fall for it and shit the thread up for multiple pages.

But that's just my pitch. Good idea or bad idea?

One thing that I find confusing (sorry if this has been discussed as I haven't been able to read the thread yet) is how ratings like horrifying and islamic content are often used both for rating the post itself, and also the content someone else posted that the post is referring to. For example, this happens often when primary content posters in certain threads or forums post something new that a lolcow has put on social media. I know the ratings are ultimately irrelevant, but I wish there was a way to rate a post horrifying/islamic content in a way that denotes it's the lolcow that is being referred to rather than the poster themselves being exceptional or something.

If you don't want to get Islamic Content ratings because the cow you're following just posted their latest chapter of hyper anal vore scat fanfiction then let someone else post the update, lmao.

Also, Islamic Content ratings are actually a badge of honor. Inshallah. Or whatever those terrorists fucking say.
