It makes writing posts a game of "how can I make this appeal to as many people as possible?"
The existing like system already did that. You had likes, and the people who garnered the most likes were the ones who made simple one liners with no regards to the actual conversation of the thread, usually on the firsts page of an update post. CatParty holds the record by saying something like "Chris is retarded." as the first reply on some recent update.

The like system is a feedback mechanism. If you do something people like, it tells you. The main flaw here is that: if you do something people don't like, you have no idea unless someone takes the time to make a reply and instigate an argument with you, detailing your character flaws. Chat has been ridiculing several people for months because of how they post in the Discussion board, and they're people with the most likes system-wide. With high visibility and zero negative feedback (because nobody is going to sperg hard enough to critique a le funny meme post), you get consistent, patterned behavior that is negatively received yet positively reinforced.

When simmered down to its essence, the like system had these issues.
  • A "Like" is ambiguous. You can empathize with a post about a grievous event, and not like what the post is about.
  • People are "Liked" for various reasons. Someone who is constantly well-thought out and informative is measured the same way against people who are funny.
  • There is no negative feedback to go alongside positive feedback for certain people who cater to the dumb clapping seal demographic.
The only real issue I can see with this direction is that people may get discouraged for no reason. The people who write incredibly long posts will probably get rated "Autistic" just because people don't want to read it. I don't want to encourage this, but I also can't really determine what people want to see. I've tried for ages to get people to post less shittily, but trying to enforce a "you must be less shit" rule is impossible, especially on a forum like this. This may help with that.

There's two possible outcomes here.
  • People are more likely to receive negative ratings for making zinger posts and stupid shit, discouraging shitposting.
  • People are more likely to receive negative ratings for verbosity, discouraging discussion.
From very early reviewing of the system, I've seen the former. I see very little abuse outside of this thread people are carefully applying the ratings.

I'll remove the hiding post feature because in retrospect I don't see any valid use for it. I'll continue to see if I can tweak the rating system.

It's a fun little toy, but now I feel like I could rate every single post something. Maybe this is intentional - there are so many options, you only want to rate messages that truly stand out and not waste your time with the rest. Hey, this may work.

I like all the new pretty colors. The autism one looks like the AVG logo.

You should probably just have mods check any posts that get a certain number of Dumbs/Alogs (assuming there's an easy way to do that)
