Damn nigga they just wanted art advice
That aside going from the still life picture I say it's not bad, but some of the textures like on the leaves and the bottle are really blurry and everything doesn't seem "solid"
Also, this shouldn't really be it's own thread there's a show your art thread here and you can ask for criticism there

Just a dude looking for art advice learns how to use the site in a hard way I suppose.
Yeah, I’m working on making my textures not just blurry grainy messes. That was my first true still life attempt. Still working on fleshing my work out. And can you link me the thread please?

I think you would have benefited here from inking the edges here to emphasize them from the backgrounds as the eye sort of just slips over them.
Your stuff looks quite nice in thumbnails because they eye is implying these emphasizing lines.
In the full size image it looks wonky. It looks like you've used a line select tool to cut off the edges rather.
Your character artwork suffers from this as well with characters who are not black falling out of the foreground
Also, be patient with them, they as autism.

But that aside, thanks for the solid advice. I do agree that my work tends to be better at a smaller viewing / thumbnail size. Do you know a good way to fix that?

I thought I did post this in art and lit.
Felt like shoving my identity and mental health right away into my criticism post would be not the best of ideas. Can promise you I’m not one of those tumblr system faker trash. As for my gender stuff, I acknowledge I’ll never be on the same level as other men. But anyways, Just wanted to get art criticism from people I don’t always agree with, start up a good conversation on something that isn’t politics.

Well, specifically coming to the Farms for art advice and making a new thread while broadcasting that you’re from Tumblr instead of just, ya know, posting in the critique thread or the “post your art” thread.
Lots of people post art there that would get mocked elsewhere on the Farms, but nobody gives a crap because we’re all just autists sharing our autist doodles.

OP you’re just wanting negative attention. If you wanted actual criticism you wouldn’t mention tumblr and would ask for it in the Farms Art thread. Just be honest that you’re bored and feed off of negative attention instead of acting you aren’t.

My title was to catch the eye, but it wasn’t just to grab negative attention. It was to sorta say “I came from tumblr and my art used to look straight from Tumblr, but it’s grown”
I am honest when I say I didn’t think or know till I was linked to the other art thread. I replied to some art there, and I’m making a before and after pic of my art then and now to post.
Sorry if I’m coming off as attention seeking. I didn’t mean that. I am enjoying having this conversation tho, and I think I’m learning how to use this site correctly from it.

What motivates someone like you to come to the Farms in the first place? Based on the way you’ve reacted to the pretty overt hostility you’re clearly not the average Tumblr ‘tard, but I’m just a bit confused as to how someone from those communities would ever be interested in the Farms as something to engage with neutrally, given our (slanderous and undeserved!) reputation as a hive of scum and villainy.

I wanted to see what this site had to offer to people who used to be a Tumblr ‘tard. I used to be very unhealthily into Tumblr, so I thought taking a look at its polar opposite would be interesting. Tumblr honestly had much more ruder people than I’ve faced so far here. People their are nuts. If you don’t agree with whatever’s correct, they assume your a white cis scum or whatever the new buzzword is. Been accused of being that many of time, while simultaneously being called a sand monkey LOL.
But I digress, this site has more people who aren’t afraid to say what they think is actually correct to them, not the hive mind.

That I can agree on. If people do stupid stuff on this site, they get mocked and the individual can decide whether to carry on or correct their weird behaviour. No vendettas when one would wait for a 'Gotcha!' moment, just straight up honesty.
Just don't go telling other members that you're a plural and trans or you'll get your arse handed to you.

Agreed. Just don’t power level or give a lot of personal information in general. See the Farms as a new way to interact with others under some anonymity.
If you want to post the redraw of your old art then it would be best if you uploaded it to the Farmers redraw Tumblr art thread but it's fine if you want to upload it here too.
Also since you came here from Tumblr this thread might provide some useful information to you (if you haven't seen it already).
