Doodled some Mari during a slow day at work. She’s a shit character but so fun to draw because she has big boobs. I’ve gotten considerably better at sketching simple facial expressions that don’t look like ass cancer, got all these faces in one try. I’ve also gotten better at imagining a pose in my head and being able to translate it into paper.

Might digitize the plug suit one, probably won’t finish the other two though.

E: Started tracing the plugsuit sketch. It's weird how many large and small proportionality issues start popping up once you start tracing with thinner lines - I had to move the head and shoulders down a good bit to make it look right. And wow, drawing the details on the plugsuit reminds me how much I dislike the Rebuild suit designs. There's just too much crap stuck to them.

E2: Did a rough paint and I'm pretty happy with how it's turning out. I've discovered the technique of using gradients to make your shading look like it has more depth than it actually does, and I have no shame in using it to full effect. Going to go in and do a proper paint with an actual blend brush, and I'll call it done.

I think Catmum is becoming my spirit animal or some shit. I've only a draft to share for now.

And a bunch of expressions i couldn't help but add in. i love making faces for my characters.

I'll fix the couple errors in the draft and fully render it tomorrow after slep.

So i had this bright fucking idea to go and add a section to my website, this took my whole day, now Svoli, dear precious Svoli, is left wanting.

How could i be so SELFISH??

So yeah dramatic recall aside I didn't finish fluffy fuzzy soft catmum.

I did manage to make a nice looking addition to my website that completely fucking breaks on mobile though.

I'm going to bed before I grump myself to sleep.

Finished the drawing from a few posts up, to a level of fidelity that I'm happy with. Still lots of places I can clean up or add more detail but I'm going to call this done for now.
Tried out the thing I've seen some people do where they crop the background into a rectangle. I kinda like how it looks, dunno if I like it more than just a boring ol' normal background though.

E: Showed someone the drawing and they pointed out that the shoulder anatomy was awkward, so I went back to fix it but then I realized the way I did the colors made it ridiculously hard to alter, so I went back in and repainted the whole thing and added in some more details while I was at it. It was at least worth the painting practice, I've been able to reduce it to a pretty efficient system now and it only took me about two hours to repaint. It's truly difficult to decide that a drawing is "finished" and to just put it down for good.

OKAY I REDEEMED MYSELF TO ME SOMEWHAT.

After making some fixes to the draft, i did the proper linework, flatcolor for background layers the character layer, now I'm drawing background detail.

It was surprisingly fun just making all this fluff. While Svoli is Moscow born, and she relocated to england in her teenage years, her lover was kind of a dorky WEAB so I can see her getting attached to the more irresistable parts of the east. She's all got salmon niguri, miso soup and a bottle of kikoman soy sauce with a tray. Then there's all kinds of things. Fruit basket, ribbons (which are the currency in post-exodus earth), sticky notes, a magnifying glass next to a tome containing information about Heldathian crap. There's a legally abided tic tacs knock off called Nic Nax, a "Shafted Heart" candy, a thin slice of fudge still in it's wrapper, some Pandermedica:tm: brand Tissues which are made of kelp and advertise being in avocado puke color. There's also a Settle Kettle:tm: brand Kettle because no kitchen counter is complete without one!

Sure is me being autistic as fuck tonight, but yeah I've gotta stock the cupboard with more legally-abided knock off shit like a bottle of Cat-sup right next to a can of Up-dog because I'm 10 years late to the unfunny meme. Probably some books, a feather duster and other shit in line with Svoli's character. I've also gotta give the wall some hangings, the ceiling a luminsecent fixture and the floor some loot. Gonna be my most detailed background yet. This piece won't be done in one session, it was a good idea, it deserves to be perfect like I wished.

Another upside is I'm super happy with the Svoli, who is the centerpiece of the whole art, I even had the balls to check my proportions (I usually don't because it gives me the bad self-esteem but honestly I just mostly forget.) and everything was on point outside of her head being a little bigger, but that's on purpose for a few reasons. More room for expression, makes sense since housepets that became the dominant species of earth got a boost to their intelligence, so svoli is big brain. There's also just that my cartoonish characters have always had slightly larger heads than would be realistic.

But that's enough muttering out of me for one day~! Toodles for now.

Been stocking the cupboard, now. Finished that and about to start with floor, ceiling, window and wall details when my tablet said 'fuck you' and stoped detecting input, meaning I'll simply have to restart my PC before i continue-- coloring all this stuff is gonna take me a while, lel. Here's what is there so far.

Yes I added a tiled floor as that counter is meant to be a kitchen/living area divider. The tiled floor is poorly evened out but I'm not fussy. I'll just say it's intentional like i do for most mistakes I care less about correcting.

That hair is a really good idea. Should put a few stars in her blue eyes, or given her a vest with the star-spangled section.

I didn't get to draw an america-chan for a few july 4th's now, a day I celebrate more than my home nation's day of genocide.

But while I continue to procrastinate on the Catmum drawing here is a drawing I did a few years back.

Equipped with Freedom Fries Fireworks Launcher, Patriot's Flag, Uncle Sam hat, Bandolier, star-spangled bikini, and hosting a set of bald eagle wings-- i think this is the most steretypical piece I've ever done depicting proud america-chan, even if her character model is based on a cloud nymph a whole galaxy and several dimensions away in the esoteric history but it makes the gag funnier considering the artist.
