"Post your Art" Thread

Sorry for the late reply, irl shit
First of all you should chill out and lose this attitude of "I NEED TO GET GUD OR KMS PAPER IS FUCKING DEAD", that's some ignorant low self esteem shit.
its a bit of hyperbole but it really stresses me out as to how much I draw but I cant git gud. I draw everyday, I do pencil and inking over 3 days for a single page and Ive been drawing on a tablet albeit quite irregularly for 3 years. Its demoralizing, ofc there has been some change but its extremely minimal and at this rate Ill be 50 by the time Im actually good.
Idk what tablet you have
Its one of those XP Pens without a screen, so I have to look at the monitor while drawing. And my setup is pretty bad posturally so Im having to draw with my arm suspended midair. I suspect its because of my terrible posture while drawing cause my hand has no space but Im able to draw on my books very well. Also tablet is the one causing microsquiggles when Im outlining stuff, not paper, Im able to ink pretty well on paper.
Try decreasing your tablet's pressure sensitivity
Its there in the middle but Im worried I wont get thick lines if I tamper with the graph. Also I dont get much time to draw with the tablet as setting it up takes a bit and I have that kind of time only on weekends so I dont want to waste it trying to fuck with settings for hours on end. It doesnt help when your eyes hurt after staring at the screen for long. I know its whiny but I unfortunately have little to no choice.
which isn't "dead"
I mean even Japan is starting to go digital with all the webcomic shite which is coming out. I would be glad if its not dead but people are not willing to take a chance with physical artists anymore, thats abundantly clear. Ignore America, America will go for the easiest low cost portable shit like digital anyday but even Japan is shifting to digital with the majority skewing that way now.
As for linework, don't listen to anybody who says you shouldn't use a stabilizer, it's not "cheating" and nib pens and brushes IRL come with built in stabilizers so that's a dumb argument. Eventually you'll build up the control and confidence to draw clean lines when you want, but I still like to stabilize certain brushes for an authentic effect.
I would like a crash course on all these software like stabilizers and how to use brushes paints and stuff. I dont know how color works and I dont understand how people create stuff like blending bloom and highlights which are way out of my league. I know its doable but I dont have the faintest idea where to start with Clip studio and its endless complexities. When I try fucking around with Blend or opacity it looks like crap. I tend to use Clip studio like I do MS Paint, just pick a color and go ahead.
Consider your light source as well, a general simplified rule of thumb: lines opposite to light source are thicker, lines that are closer to the viewer are thicker, outlines are thicker. Inking takes time and it's easy to underestimate how much attention to detail is involved with sculpting each line to make it dynamic.

Right now, if I were you, I'd focus on making sure that you're drawing with 3D forms and thinking about the light source.
3d forms is definitely a thing I should do more but Ive got inking under control for the most part. Im still no concrete expert but its one of the only places where Im good enough to have some degree of self confidence.

"gud" is subjective and if you hold that as your standard you will kill yourself because you will never reach it (as your bar will always change). There are a million tutorials for whatever tablet or software you use and if you need support take advantage of those. Not that I am good at art but I learned from sketching realistic forms and heavily referencing photos I like. My favorite exercise when I was younger was to trace shapes over the references I like and then doing my best to replicate it from scratch. If you focus on the product more than the journey, art will frankly never ever be fun for you. The moment you begin to let go and just focus on learning, improving, and being open to critique everything will work out as it should. Also please remember people usually only post their good art to the internet, do your best to not compare yourself

I spent two hours on this piece of shit and I genuinely want to know, tablet fags
I can say that as a person who has used both it’s still really hard for me to use tablet and computer. My best work was a couple of pages back and it’s mediocre line works that took me several hours. My point being don’t beat yourself up for it, there’s a lot of moving parts and I actually did like what you put out.

I've been busy trying not to kill myself learning how to javascript so I haven't been spriting much, I'm not the main spriter of the project anyway. Not that I would be comfortable sharing any sprites I'm not at least a little proud of.

The last sprite I posted here was niche, so now it's probably a lot more obvious I'm making a NES-GBC pallette digimon game lol. Left to right it's oldest to newest.

Despite the fact that I'm still figuring shit out as I go. I'm a little retarded and I have a tendency to try to sprite poses well beyond my skill level, leading to something like the following:

While I'm decently satisfied with the end result, he is also unbelievably off model lmao.

Draw Tim Avery from son of the Mask and the Rogudeans

His design is purely derivated from a character that was originally originated from a coal with very extreme amount of vantablack nigger brimstone autism. :optimistic: It is your imagination to know what his original design, or the OC's derivated character was.
