Sorry for the late reply, irl shit
its a bit of hyperbole but it really stresses me out as to how much I draw but I cant git gud. I draw everyday, I do pencil and inking over 3 days for a single page and Ive been drawing on a tablet albeit quite irregularly for 3 years. Its demoralizing, ofc there has been some change but its extremely minimal and at this rate Ill be 50 by the time Im actually good.First of all you should chill out and lose this attitude of "I NEED TO GET GUD OR KMS PAPER IS FUCKING DEAD", that's some ignorant low self esteem shit.
Its one of those XP Pens without a screen, so I have to look at the monitor while drawing. And my setup is pretty bad posturally so Im having to draw with my arm suspended midair. I suspect its because of my terrible posture while drawing cause my hand has no space but Im able to draw on my books very well. Also tablet is the one causing microsquiggles when Im outlining stuff, not paper, Im able to ink pretty well on paper.Idk what tablet you have
Its there in the middle but Im worried I wont get thick lines if I tamper with the graph. Also I dont get much time to draw with the tablet as setting it up takes a bit and I have that kind of time only on weekends so I dont want to waste it trying to fuck with settings for hours on end. It doesnt help when your eyes hurt after staring at the screen for long. I know its whiny but I unfortunately have little to no choice.Try decreasing your tablet's pressure sensitivity
I mean even Japan is starting to go digital with all the webcomic shite which is coming out. I would be glad if its not dead but people are not willing to take a chance with physical artists anymore, thats abundantly clear. Ignore America, America will go for the easiest low cost portable shit like digital anyday but even Japan is shifting to digital with the majority skewing that way now.which isn't "dead"
I would like a crash course on all these software like stabilizers and how to use brushes paints and stuff. I dont know how color works and I dont understand how people create stuff like blending bloom and highlights which are way out of my league. I know its doable but I dont have the faintest idea where to start with Clip studio and its endless complexities. When I try fucking around with Blend or opacity it looks like crap. I tend to use Clip studio like I do MS Paint, just pick a color and go ahead. As for linework, don't listen to anybody who says you shouldn't use a stabilizer, it's not "cheating" and nib pens and brushes IRL come with built in stabilizers so that's a dumb argument. Eventually you'll build up the control and confidence to draw clean lines when you want, but I still like to stabilize certain brushes for an authentic effect.
3d forms is definitely a thing I should do more but Ive got inking under control for the most part. Im still no concrete expert but its one of the only places where Im good enough to have some degree of self confidence.Consider your light source as well, a general simplified rule of thumb: lines opposite to light source are thicker, lines that are closer to the viewer are thicker, outlines are thicker. Inking takes time and it's easy to underestimate how much attention to detail is involved with sculpting each line to make it dynamic.
Right now, if I were you, I'd focus on making sure that you're drawing with 3D forms and thinking about the light source.
