Not trying to say anything about the quality of the drawing, but at what point does a pixel art drawing stops being pixal art and starts just being a regular drawing but with no anti aliasin?
In this case for example you didnt really have any real linitation with the stuff you could make other than maybe gradiants.

I am not particularly sure, because I am not much of a pixel art specialist, but that case is when there is jagged lines that resembles pixel art, but with shading that resembles ordinary drawings more. It regardless still counts as pixel art because of the jaggy oekaki-esque lines and shading that resembles airbrushed textures or gradients.

I see, I think my point was mostly that I dont really see much poiny of keeping it pixel art at that point, but if its just to make a piece while making it more challanging or something that is a completely valid reason

I'm going to congrats you though, you made me do more art and I appreciate the motivationm so here, this is my attempt today:

I started on Illustrator, tracing my drawing, then added the stroke and heavy lines, while also adding some guide shading and basic coloring

Finally on Photoshop just added more light and shading

And the final export. It came out a little rough but I like it when it comes like this... To me is more natural and more my style.

Now, you don't really need to spend hundreds of dollars to do digital art when you can get the software for free and being elitist about it is dumb. You can do really cool shit in MS Paint if you want.

Illustrator and Photoshop are great for doing this kind of things and you can do even more stuff if you put the time.

I'm fucking picasso? Fuck no! But it's passable? yeah, sure whatever, I like it and there are the fundamentals of lighting and proportions., so there's that.

A couple of months ago I entered a drawing competition and made a worst version of my link drawing in like 40 minutes or something like that, at the time I forgot to take a picture but a friend managed to get me one(tho sadly the quality is a bit shit)
