I want to get into painting DnD miniatures. I don't have a steady budget yet, so I decided to start practicing with Hot Wheels cars that I have been purchasing at flea markets recently.

This is my first attempt at repaint one.

I used a can of spray paint and Sharpies that I had lying around.

Feedback is really appreciated.

Trying to take painting seriously. My goal for this year is to not take hours to shit out something mediocre. Ref was used obvi.

Drawing I did on my phone. The optimistic girl Suhail, the blind girl Atria and the weird crazy armless boy Castor.

I also drawn Suhail and Atria on a wall where other people draw things on at a blood donation clinic.

Unfortunately the marketplace the clinic is located is gonna be demolished soon.

Concept art for a pretty exciting project I'll be working on:

Also- for all the digital artists here, what kind of tablet do you use and is anyone interested in the Wacom Movink 13? I like the idea of a tablet with an actual screen since I'm mainly a traditional artist, drawing straight on the...well, drawing feels more natural. I know there's plenty of other tablets with that option, but I had this suggested to me specifically.

My current tablet is a Wacom Intuos 4, the stylus is held together with tape and it's crying out in pain every time I use it. I think I heard it say once, "To die, to truly be dead, that would be glorious".

An XP-Pen Deco 01 V2, no screen - it's a larger model than my old Intuos, bought for cheaper, and boasts no noticeable difference in quality.

tablet with an actual screen
The general consensus, even among professionals (Feng Zhu, namely), is that an expensive-ass screen tablet is not worth it, and at $800-something, Movink isn't exactly an exception.

If you're going for one anyway, it won't hurt take a look at XP-Pen Magic Drawing Pad - it's $500 and they allowed calibration of the pointer in a recent firmware update (no OLED display, though). Brad Colbow has a good review of it on YT.

The screenless ones do take time to get used to but once you do, drawing on one feels about as natural as paper.

is anyone interested
nah i'm good fam
