question:
does anyone have recommendation for cheap and good sketchbooks/paper? the smoother the paper the better. I usually use a strathmore 400 sketchbook, but the paper is a little too toothy for my taste. I've gone through a few but now i'm about to reach the end of my current one and am open to something else. i just don't like how it feels and makes the graphite look, but they're still the best bang for your buck sketchbooks in my local art store. I have a lot of bristol paper, which is really nice and smooth, but I'd rather keep that for more "finished" stuff than sketches and studies. or am I just blaming the paper when it's actually my own fault or something like that. idk. open to suggestions, thanks
I have procreate and I know deep down the solution is to just bite the bullet and go fully digital, but there's just something about graphite and ink that feels so nice to use.
