This is just a thread for talking about potatoes, whether it is eating potatoes solely as a diet like Penn Jillette, recipes with potatoes, or the sheer awesomeness of potatoes.

Potatoes are the shit.

If you disagree you are retarded.

I've actually done the potato diet that Penn did. I loved it. If I didn't have to be around other people and eat socially, I could easily see myself mostly eating on the diet. I will say, potatoes with sour cream, butter, salt, and/or fat it better.

Sweet potatoes are a daily part of my eating.

When I have potatoes that sprout, I half-assedly plant them outside, on the off-chance they will naturalize. BE FREE

I did a plain potato only diet for a few weeks to become less fat, it worked well but I was so sick of potatoes by the end of it. I think it definitely needs sauces to be viable.
I recommend Tabasco sauce, 0 calories. Pepper is also another go to.

There are two major goals of the potato diet: losing weight and getting off your sugar cravings. Sweet potatoes or any type of potato is fair game. If you are just looking to lose weight, low/zero calorie sauces, seasoning, and mixing up your potato variety are highly recommended.

I grow potatoes, for fun and profit. Also I eat them. I don't even like going out to get fries anymore I just make my own. I can make whatever shape I want, I can cook any style I want. If you grow your own potatoes you learn to go off grid with your potatoes.

Potatoes are great because not only is it $3.50 for 5 pounds of them, but toss one in the microwave for 5 mins and you have a tasty snack. Discovering that has literally changed my life and revolutionized my cooking

I love potatoes but hate peeling them. The potato ricer was a game changer for me.

Last few years I’ll only buy the gold/yellow variety because they’re so dang naturally creamy.

I cannot think of a single form of potatoes I don't like.
Never been crazy about curly fries or waffle fries for some reason. In the UK they sell potato waffles that are like regular waffles but made of potatoes. Those are slightly less off-putting to me but not by much.

I love potatoes so goddamn much.

You can just bake them and eat them and they're delicious.

Plus you can put them in pot roasts or any other dish and they're delicious. I love potatoes so goddamn much.

Anyone who hates potatoes is ontologically evil.
