I'd have no problem with this game if the marketing department wasn't deliberately giving metaphorical free hand-jobs to pedophiles. Which let's be frank, they're 100% doing that.

Not to split hairs but I think it's a jarring contrast because in season 2 you are also playing a child, one younger than the one you're talking about. So when the story already contains an example of a child not acting like a child, every other child in comparison just looks like a retard. The first thing you see of Clementine is her more or less recognising the situation isn't a good one (hiding in her tree house. whispers over the walkie talkie with Lee) so seeing a character a couple years into her teens displaying less awareness than a pre-teen just makes her far more annoying.

People fantasise about having the perfect family, and like any other fantasy, it tends to skip over all the steps required to get to that point. "Don't let your dreams be dreams" and all that.
If you want to start a family, you need to go outside and actually put the effort in.
But that's because Clementine comes from a way more hardened background because she's actually put her life at risk walking with Lee, she's had to make a decision she can't really process (killing or leaving Lee to die), she's never fully settled down anywhere in the apocalyptic landscape, something like that would probably harden someone.

Sarah never had that. As far as I know and recall, again, long time since I've played Season 2, she's never stepped outside of her house or her comfort zones. She's always an admittedly spoiled life so when she's thrown into an ocean of conflict like the apocalypse is without her dad or at moments where her dad is compromised, she herself gets compromised as well. She's a fucking child.

That's part of what I was saying in regard to the fantasy/idealised stuff. If you want a daughter like Clementine and not Sarah, you as a (wannabe) parent are a large component of that.
Sarah doesn't represent the default necessarily, she's what you'll get if you're shit at your job raising her like you said (overly sheltered). You could also get a Ben.

The only other child to compare her to from memory is Kenny Jr/Duck, who to me is a better representation. His obliviousness to what's going on by and large feels more reasonable. His death is more tragic though (and he high gives Lee and Kenny is a GOAT) so it doesn't feel right to shit talk him, not that there's really anything to shit-talk aside from sounding a bit retarded.

Sarah = bad parent / exceptionally bad parenting
Kenny Jr = neutral / most normal or typical parenting
Clementine = good parent / exceptionally good parenting

Personally, whilst you could see more nuance/intention in it, it almost feels like Sarah's role in the story was just to be a Ben 2.0 or something, although I genuinely felt more sorry for Ben than Sarah, but that's just me.

I saw a clip of a nigga on X playing this game, he kept referring to Diana as "twin". That said, the only Pragmata gameplay I will now tolerate is that which refers to Diana in the same terms you would a real nigga straight from the hood.

Considering she's voiced by a black woman, not much of a stretch tbh

Please tell me I'm wrong.

>full of AI
>nobody minds cause either BASED??? from pedos or xddd daughter!! from parasocial drones
I can't even tell if the game is good or not. I don't know what it's about. I just know it tried making an endearing daughter figure but she's an annoying cunt.

Considering they took the hyper-realism route like the recent RE games have had, Chris Redfield doesn't look unrealistic at all. The others are from stylized games that aren't realistic so feedback discarded.

It's obvious they're capable of designing somewhat natural faces for kids, look at Monster Hunter Wilds or Dragon's Dogma 2. They don't have to be mongoloid ugly to be realistic, but Diana is so far deep into the uncanny valley it's embarrassing.

Hyper realistic Mega Man in a more upbeat cyber world would be a really interesting departure.

Game is dogshit because Capcom made it. Case and done.

Now, I will return to playing my pirated version of Master of Chess.
Remember the 25th anniversary Streetfighter chess set?

So how black does she sound on a scale of 1 to 10? Like are we talking Charlie Murphy black or Sammy Sosa black?
Hard to be specific given the capabilities of a 6 year old and fully grown black woman are virtually on par, making her either a really good VA or they just followed her around with a boom mic as she went about her day, so... I'd say somewhere around Kevin Hart/Chris Tucker.

The whole discourse around this game confuses me. When I first saw the marketing I assumed it was just gonna be another Father/Child relationship game like God of War (which I also didn't play), except this time the girl is a robot or whatever. Now people are sperging that it's pdf bait?? Are we sure this is not just another case where 99% of people playing it will just enjoy it and not give a fuck while the remaining 1% bash each others heads in over who's the REAL pedophile?

This shit is so fucking weird man.

Just to remind everyone that Capcom is not one's friend.

This shit is reminding me how despite the collection being sorta high effort capcom in their infinite wisdom added a disney+ racist/problematic content warning to the beginning of their megaman battle network dcollection. And much like disney, they fucking lied about the contents of the actual thing being unaltered. Several lines are cut and a country variable that says "Country R" was removed because of the ukraine situation because they thought people would immediatelly think russia bombing ukraine or something fucking stupid.

Capcom in general is an interesting example of how even the "smaller" companies are infested with the current year eternal mindset.

I apparently forgot to hit send on this. oh well. (above stuff specifically)
The VA for Diana is Grace Saif, she was on 13 Reasons Why I guess, explains why none of us know who she is lol
I don't really give a shit who voices the video game child and it's really weird to me how much people are focusing on the VA's race like the prozd/problem with apu guy shit with the team color flipped.
