I’m a newfag so take what I say with a grain of salt.

1. Lurk and learn the culture. I lurked for a few years and made a list of my favourite threads so I could follow them when I finally made an account.
2. Listen to Josh’s podcast Mad At The Internet. If for no other reason than for updates on the inner workings of the forum. You get to really appreciate what goes into keeping this website alive and the forces trying to take it down.
3. Donate if you’re not poor and if you want the website to last. At the very least get Brave and donate BAT.
4. Don’t spend all day here, live your life and laugh at retards in moderation otherwise you’ll be in a constant state of MATI.
5. Limit how much you tell your girlfriend otherwise she’ll think you’re obsessed with trannies.

It feels like a lot of threads can devolve into users getting embarrassingly heated over- or even jealous of- the cow in question, like an autistic version of Mean Girls. It's as childish as people getting earnestly mad at reality TV. It also has a knock-on effect where any newcomers to a thread are driven off by the back-and-forth of retards mad at the same shit as last week.
