Money Problems/Success with Ordering From CWCVille Etsy/Ebay

Couture means it was created as a one of a kind piece of meticulous quality and the results are so smart you'd shoot your grandmother to wear it.

kinda...I mean that super meticulous quality is actually haute (high, like someone being "haughty" is being all high and mighty) couture. Couture itself is really just dressmaking/tailoring by hand, but since in France, as with everything, they regulate that with accredited "haute" houses - and there are all these rules like you have to do this many designs per season, etc etc -- people shorthand.

"Time, love and courture" is a lyric from this song, because of course Chris didn't come up with it himself.

ETA: basically I don't think Chris knows what couture means, it's just another word he's absorbed and decided to slap on his products

I was actually impressed by the sleeve and cardboard.

Let's not jump the gun. Who is to say Chris isn't just ordering comic books from Lulu/CreateSpace and re-mailing them out to his customers in the same packaging sleeves that Lulu/CreateSpace used to ship the comics to him? Unless someone can show what packaging those companies use to ship individual comics, we can't be sure Chris did them, it sure appears a lot cleaner than he is capable.

Hmmm...That's a very good point.

I don't mean to powerlevel, but in my experience, businesses that sell comic books with the cardboard sheet in the back will often stamp their logo on the cardboard itself. So if he did, then there is a chance those company's logos would be stamped on the cardboard.

It would be much appreciated if anyone could verify this theory.

Not even girls are safe from hairy disgusting men appropriating the symbols of their innocence, that sounds really disgusting and creepy! Chris would not know Couture if it was a Boyfriend-Free Girl who's favorite past-time included bathing in Fanta naked.

How is @Asperchewy 's post off topic?

Strange he's still shipping Lulu stuff if they banned him already.
I thought he switched to Ka-blam or something? Or was that before Lulu?
I agree, considering he started this thread

If I remember correctly, he did post on facebook saying that he was banned from Lulu, then a week or two later he posted something else saying that Ka-blam was publishing his comics. However, the fact that people are still getting Lulu books means that a) he didn't even give people the books they ordered b) he has a surplus of Lulu books or c) the whole Lulu fiasco was just a ruse. I don't know, I'm pretty new to Chris.

Knowing how Chris thinks, this is my thought.

When Chris announced the first time that he was printing and selling books on Etsy, he said he was using Lulu. A few days later on Etsy he pulled the mention of "Lulu" off of his book descriptions on Etsy in fear of trolls attempting to make false claims or to report him to Lulu.

About a month went by, then he said that Lulu cut him off due to being copyright infringing. (Yet he still offered the books for sale at a discount on Etsy)

About a week or two went by, then he pulled the book listings all-together from Etsy.

A week later he announced that Ka-Blam was his new "publisher" and re-listed the books again.

By the time that he claimed Lulu cut him off, he already owed a TON of books to customers and offered coupons "in-liue" of refunds.

BUT people are still getting Lulu books???

My opinion is that he faked the whole "Lulu cutting him off" thing to distract trolls from Lulu and to bring attention to Ka-Blam instead. But that's just my opinion. (Until a picture of a Ka-Blam book surfaces)

EDIT: For those wondering... Ka-Blams books have a spine that resemble a comic book (stapled, folded) Lulu's books are more like a magazine (squared, glued)

If that's the case then that's actually kinda clever for Chris. Just as likely that he either printed a surplus, or is just straight up screwing past orders to fulfill new orders.

Is it possible to search the Ka-Blam and Lulu sites for Sonichu? I mean, in my mind that would be the quickest way to find out if Chris is now using Ka-blam or still using Lulu. I'm not real familiar with how the whole publishing thing works, so this may be impossible, but has anyone tried that yet?

These self publishing companies basically say "give us money, we'll print your comic and mail it to you", so they don't necessarily list it.

Some services (like Lulu) optionally offer to sell stuff directly for the author. That would be searchable.

I'm pretty sure got kicked off Lulu (that is, they took off both his private printing account, and any public selling lulu did). I think Chris intended/tried to go to kablam.

Chris might've managed to make a new account with lulu, and snuck in his comic, without them noticing. I'm guessing lulu is largely automated.

Or Chris might've just had a supply of lulu printed books.

I think the latter is mostly likely. But it could go either way.

So what was up with the whole "I can't send you a book or give you a refund, but you can have a medallion instead" announcement?
