Crazy, but me aswell. After hearing it for the first time I thought it was the instrumental and the final stage would give it lyrics. Saikai is still really emotional but I feel like this could have hit even harder.Am I the only one who preferred "Unnamed battle theme #10" over Saikai as a Canto song? Saikai feels more like an anime ending theme than a culmination of the tragedy of Ryoshu's life while the other is absolute S.A.N.G.R.I.A.

You are not infact crazy. I also thought this would be the mili song, but alas it twas not. Still really damn good tho.Crazy, but me aswell. I get it's supposed to be SANGRIA but this line in specific always made me think of cringy redditor weeb types, this one line in the song has done irreparable damage to itS is for Sayonara
Mili sort of feels like if she doesn't really "get it" none of her oddities come together and instead they detract. Children of the City is basically Sleep Walk Metropolis which is basically a femcel negativeXP song and it slaps but "Hero" feels like it was made to only work within the timing of the boss fights. Not a big fan of Saikai either, though that may be because I find Cassie Wei's voice to be like nails on a chalkboard. Studio E.I.M have always just completely shat on the Milli when it comes to music for me.
With Saikai specifically though I remember when the song got leaked around the time Rien's sprites were put into the files (months before the Canto by the way) and there were constant arguments whether or not Saikai was some AI generated song from how absurd the lyrics and song were. I remember all the "S is for Sayonara hana de shiko" posting. Hilarious times.
I'll give Mili this though, the instrumentals are usually good, I don't mind alot of their instrumentals, its just when Cassie starts opening her mouth is when I start tuning out.Mili sort of feels like if she doesn't really "get it" none of her oddities come together and instead they detract. I used to be a much bigger fan of her work back in the day when she made original songs.Mili sort of feels like if she doesn't really "get it" none of her oddities come together and instead they detract. I still listen to this one often. Kinda speaks volume to how well this one stands on it's own. Especially with the smaller lullaby sections that sell the loss more than anything. Does better than most of the dialogue of this canto.Am I the only one who preferred "Unnamed battle theme #10" over Saikai as a Canto song? Why. Why didn't we get this version? This SHOULD of been the ingame version. I mean ffs it sells the feeling so much more to hear the actual characters singing this as they clash one last time. Especially with Rien's part coming in. Would of been fucking PERFECT.The version of SAIKAI made by Ryoshu, Araya, and Rien's VAs sounds way better in my opinion.https://youtube.com/watch?v=0WA2NX4kPSI
There's some really strong ones, like Between Two Worlds and Patches of Violet. I wonder if it's a mix of burnout and just not meshing well with the subject matter. I think SAIKAI works stronger as an outright character VA song (but then again songs by character VAs often automatically turn into top tier tracks in games). And this includes alot of Limbus Company "finale" songs. Some are pretty alright (I actually like Hero, fits the idea well), but stuff like Saikai is a mixed bag. Limbus leans too hard onto Mili when she's more of a specialist (etc LoR main theme she fits)
Inbetween worlds is definitely one of those "Wow this is a morbid twisted concept" which is why it fits so much better for her. It's alot like Bathtub in a way. Showing Kramer's inner sin evoked outward. There's some really strong ones, like Between Two Worlds and Patches of Violet. In general Studio EIM are extremely consistent now with high quality tracks too, especially with the most recent canto, so the standards for Mili tracks has also gotten far higher too.
