ProjectMoon Megathread - Lobotomy Corporation, Library of Ruina, Limbus Company, etc.

So what's the rundown/tl;dr on Limbus? Asking before I fire it up and get disappointed that it's shit. Is it more like Library of Ruina or Lobotomy Corporation?

More like Ruina but you'll feel like you have no control over combat.

Looked through the announcements and there are a lot of apologies, an interesting one was that people were able to claim dupes of the compensations gifts they sent out. The director admitted they don't have the technical ability to retract them all evenly or distribute more to everyone else who didn't get them. Now they're going to run live bug fixes with the mail system just by sending people small amounts of currency. Its neat they're honest but it seems like they had no expectations for a playerbase or didn't do much testing.

I've recently discovered that you can redirect clashes by setting bad matchups on defense.

Imo they should give the anomaly target system to humans and give the human target system to anomalies.
It's utterly bizarre that anomalies are ez mode compared to humans kek

Sadly, no playtesting seems to be a common issue with ProjectMoon. In fact, when this game came out and a number of bugs where found, many of them were fixed by the player base because PM not only forgot to encrypt their code, but also still hasn't learned that, depending on the country, dots and commas are read differently in code. Players ended up fixing the dlls themselves.
Also, before release, Limbus had ridiculous minimum settings, likely because they only tested with the weakest computer they had on hand.

Limbus' UI and some game mechanics are not explained at all in the game. If you want to play, I think it'd be better if you searched online for an explanation of everything first.

I second what Dongs said: the clashing, damage type, and speed systems are the same as LOR, with the ability to pick your target (manually) being limited to vs Abnos. Instead of rolling a dice range, cards now consist of Coins that flip either Heads or Tails to give (or take away) extra power on top of a base value. So it's kinda a 50/50 and supposedly SP affects the weightage of that, but honestly I haven't noticed a difference. See edit.

There's nothing that reminds me of LC beyond the "oooh pick the right option for Abnos! (then it forces you to get the gift anyway if you pick the wrong one on purpose)"

Still seeing a lot of people having to change their language to English to fix the dungeon issue lol.

RE: UI: The four tutorial stages does explain the combat UI, albeit horribly (but is it really a Project Moon game if the tutorials make sense?) You literally can't miss the "how story dungeons work" tutorial because the pop-up shows up every time you start a story dungeon, ditto with mid-combat Abno choices.

Though skipping the tutorial is what I'd recommend to new playes anyway because you can't get the 0-1 clear (and thus the Chapter 0 progress / EX rewards) if you don't. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

ETA: Turns out someone dug through the code and posted the exact numbers + how the modifiers stack (or don't). Here's the reddit post.

High SP pushes the weightage to Heads, so if you're using Sinclair's EGO from the current BP you'll want him to lose SP as it's a -8 to the base value if you land Heads.

I think they'll double down on the Mirror grind; 3-22 (the final stage atm) is asking for level 30 (yes, the max), and that's not accounting for dice roll increase you'd have to get from Uptying, which would also mean more Mirror grind...
The "recommended level" is 30, but I was able to beat 3-22 with my main units around level 20 and Uptie 3. You don't really need to grind all the way to level 30.

What do you guys think about Abnormality fights? I found that the only gimmick I've had to consistently put up with was You Must Become Strong since it was "infinite" revives (actually 5 if I understand the Surgery passive) if I didn't destroy the factory.
The unique abnormalities and especially the 3-22 boss can be quite fun to do, though I don't think they have much replay value. They have very fixed patterns, and once you figure out how to abuse them, the puzzle is solved and doing them again is a bit tedious. The nerfed versions in mirror dungeon usually get steamrolled before they can do anything.

The generic filler abnormality fights are quite boring, though. They don't really pose any sort of threat as long as you know their abilities.

3 is rough for the EX, especially the 3 wave stages. I had to dump most of my exp tickets into units I never really used, its worked out but I feel like I wasted resources.

I remember trying to get into LC and Ruina a few years ago. LC stopped being fun when it relied too much on employees surviving in a game where evry other scp will instagib the entire map just looking in their general direction.

Ruina was the most nihlistic and chinese piece of shit I have ever read parts of. Like holy shit if life is so bleak just fuck off and kill yourself already pussy. Dont bring that shit into your work. God forbid people feel happy at least once in a while. Around the halfway point it just devolved even further into rng hell and naruto edgelord bs with the characters and worldbuilding. So I dropped it

The fanbase is largely nothing but the same banhappy discordniggers and edgelord weens that infest everywhere else. They especially love to bitch and moan ad nauseum about how things are shit and can never be better. While of course, actively going after anyone who disproves their bullshit with their own fan mods that arent retarded shitposts or earrape.

Looks like they are trying to get the hunger games crowd with the city districts in that mobile game? Idk, haven’t kept up with PM since the woke art style “wonderlab” comic.

Wew.

What ragged me more in LC was having to reset for the Perfect RNG with abnos since you can't afford having to babysit too much while fighting off mentally ill goth girls. The instagibbing was much worse in alpha where you couldn't even fight back because EGO wasn't a thing so a single escapee which isn't Punishing Bird meant a reset. Oh, and One Sin being able to RNG nuke you...

I honestly don't have an issue with the dystopian stuff (hey, it's the supposed last surviving colony of humans after an apocalypse likely managed by an AI, I think they're allowed to be fucked up and sad. In contrast, Wonderlab was too happy and ignorant of this setting until the last bits that it annoyed me more so than the SJW bs), but you're that angry at Ruina you'll hate Limbus too since 1. same setting 2. they got their M rating and sure as hell they're gonna use it.

The part of the fandom you're complaining about hasn't gotten any better lol, I think it even had some internal drama after Limbus was revealed to be a gacha. At least, some bigwigs I was keeping tabs on freaked the fuck out about it (if you know, you know) while the majority were already major whales in other gachas so no difference was made.

The Districts were always a thing, it's the City's equivalent of countries/regions.

I also beat 3-22 with sub 30 (but max uptying) but I'm feeling the level recommendation is gonna get even higher and with how PM handles stuff, they'll turn that into a level requirement soon enough. The difficulty spike is vertical, after all.

Yeah, there's no reason to repeat Story's Dungeons. Also fully agree about the absolute neutering they do to most abnos in mirrors: Guido getting 2-3 turn'd feels so good though after the suffering in story.

Four Legged Beast and Crawling Inquisitors can fuck right off though. The one time Evade isn't garbage and it's on the enemy.

Game related: We're due to get a 3* Guaranteed Ticket soon as they mislabeled the beginner gacha. It says a 3* ID is guaranteed, when it also could be an EGO. So they're changing the labelling and giving us that ticket as compensation.

Chill, it's just a game. I for one really enjoy nihilistic settings.

Idk if I'm just stupidly lucky or my go to team is broken but, mirror dungeons seem really easy.

It's easy until you decide to click that one random choice in event node.

The gifts snowball really quickly, yeah. Getting both Battery and Crown of Roses for example: Rupture everywhere. Even when my team was lvl 15-ish with no uptie I'd only die on the final abno of Floor 3.
Hope you aren't getting tired of spamming it though. We won't see the next stage until June...

Those same units will probably become useful in the future as the enemies have stronger resistances and less weaknesses. Not to mention, you'll probably get those resources back after a bit of grinding.

The 9th's extractions have been revealed.
3⁰ Big Hammer Meursault
2⁰ Middle Hammer Rodion
It seems that what allowed Guido to be so persistent was a constant dose of K serum, or something like it.

Yeah, can't disagree with you here. PM Games are one of those things where the gameplay is fun and engaging but the story is Urobutcher tier of bad

Pretty sure it was implied already, since before we set off for the town the LCCB people tell us that KCorp and NCorp (who the Nails people either work for or are affiliated with) had signed some sort of underhand deal.
