As a Roman Catholic, we got ours too. I think if they are doing it to 'show off' how religious they are, they're doing it wrong, because Jesus spoke negatively about those kind of people. It becomes more about them then it is devotion to God. If not, then it's a different thing, although nothing in the Bible ssys 'Dress like a 1950s housewife' but more of transvestitism being forbidden and or looking disreputable or worse.Υ
As an Orthodox Christian I agree, but it seems we have our fair share of fundies.
Also, I never understood why women roleplaying as Orthodox wear veils. In Greece you won't see that. Old ladies wear a scarf in their head, in remote villages, but it's cultural, it's not a religious symbol, and they can show their hair, it's just an outdated fashion statement
As for veils, I'm guessing she's thinking of Paul's ideas on them, so not so much Greek attire but Paul's thinking on them, but I dunno.
