r/Antinatalism - "Fertility...le BAD!" AKA Redditors having a rare moment of not lusting after children, and somehow still being fucking awful in the process.

Yes, the Voluntary Human Extinction Movement, VHEMT, is still around, though not as active as they once were. Les Knight, the creator, has all but aged out of his group, which he started in Portland in 1991. As far as the AN community, VHEMT is almost irrelevant these days, especially when compared to the newer and more public interfacing non profit Stop Having Kids, also located in Portland (because of course).

Les is old guard. Unlike the younger generation, he is very nonconfrontational and never proselytized or pushed his beliefs on others. He has always stayed in his lane, and he never seemed interested in engaging with or commenting on the larger online community outside of his group - he did his best to stay out of the drama. I know he wasn't fond of Gary (Inmendham), but he still allows Amanda (Oldphan) to promote her shit in his group, and I believe they are still friends.

Les was one of the very first people talking about AN publicly, over a decade before the word "antinatalism" became the term. He has done his share of media interviews over the years, including Tucker Carlson back in '05 and the New York Times did an article on him in November 2022.

I personally lost respect for him when he refused to address or criticize immoral and problematic behavior going on within his own group as well as the larger community, though he has made some efforts to distance his group from promortalism. He is passionate about his beliefs, but not about moderating and managing the people within his group, which to be fair, are two very different skill sets. He understandably got burned out after so many years and dialed back his online activity significantly in the late 2010s.

There's nothing wrong with choosing to have no children. Just like in the sanctioned suicide thread, nobody should be forced to do anything.
There are two types of people.
1. People who don't have children and just do other things without thinking about the fact that they aren't having children.
2. People who don't have children, post everywhere about the fact that they don't have children, and how their decision to not have children is the morally superior option.

Which of these two is this thread about?

Not to pull a “no u”, but I’d argue that antinatalism is a cult of bloodshed and death.

I have yet to hear any reports of violence being committed in the name of natalism. However, there are plenty of violent acts committed in the name of antinatalism. The biggest example is, of course, the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Adam Lanza’s motive remained unknown for several years until his YouTube account was discovered; in one of his videos, he said having children was cruel and that it was ethical to kill them so they wouldn’t have to suffer. If my memory serves, the murder of Caylee Anthony was an act of antinatalism as well, but I could be wrong about that.

He sounds like the male equivalent of a neverpicked lmao.

Let's compare.

Natalists:
Want to bring more human life into the world.
Tends to believe life has some kind of meaning, be it spiritual or otherwise.
Celebrates life.

Antinatalists:
Wants humans to go extinct.
Believes life is pointless and only suffering.
Hates life.

Sure buddy, your parents are a death cult.

This is as unfair as blaming any other group for what their worst, most unhinged members and generally we accept that legitimately insane people don't represent an entire group of people.
This is probably going to evolve into a terrorist group.
People said incels were going to be the next big terrorist threat too but it didn't work out that way.

"You mean I can just say incel and immediately win all debates!?", 50000 incels later, "why aren't they still taken seriously!?"

It's kinda funny; I work alongside a lot of older women and a few younguns, and we had an ex-coworker show up with their toddler. Even the skinhead dudebrah suddenly joked he had to go talk to the dame at home. You could taste the hormones. It's a natural reaction and development for women, and anyone against kids either can't handle their finances, are envious of those who can, or know they'll be shit parents and have to keep as many as possible from reminding them of this.

I wonder what would happen if these fuckers tried to bring that shit to Somalia, Pakistan, or Niger?
They'd get beat but it'd be hypocritical because those people kill their kids all the time. China, Pakistan, Senegal, and every other country where killing your kids for honor/funsies is either legal or might as well be legal should team up with antinatalism to create one big suicidal retard nation.

If we can get them all to do that. Then our planet Earth would become a much better place.
