Holy fuck. This is one of the more depressing accounts I’ve seen on r/polyamory.

TL,DR Hubs doesn’t respect OP’s boundaries and keeps breaking their rules (bangs his bossman’s sister and sexes up his latest partner before getting a full STD panel), acts violent towards OP and scares off her paramours.

And unfortunately, children are involved

The most horrifying part of all of these stories is that children are always a complete afterthought they tack on at the end after writing essays about how many people they're having sex with.

To be fair, there are barrier methods other than condoms, like female condoms, diaphragms, sponges, cervical caps.

Most people use the catch all Protected/Unprotected sex. The polyweirdos are trying to make them just having unprotected sex sound a lot more grandios and meaning full. They mean "barriers" as in nothing holding them back from feeling each others true love or something like that.

LGBT relationships in a nutshell. If society is designed for heterosexuality, as these nutcases argue, why do we not run around groping each other in public and breeding like animals? Because there's a greater intent to straight relationships. Fuckbuddies can turn into parents. There's always a next level.

Fags? Ever watched The Normal Heart; a highly acclaimed aids-focused historical movie? It had 5-6 sex scenes. Half of these in a sauna with a stranger. There's no next level, so you can fuck freely and the only possible downside are STI's. You'd think only having this one thing to deal with, they'd at least protect themselves. For women it's basically the same as any other straight relationship no matter how many Chads and Joes you got in your hivemind relationship. You're gonna get pregnant and suddenly it's not all fun and games anymore.

I can't be convinced open relationships in which it's a majority mostly-straight men aren't just mental gymnastics for the woman to get more dick. Look at any case in which it was the opposite; ProJared or Anthony Burch, in which the one who wanted an open relationship gets laid less, and it turns out unhealthy and "actually no!!". It's a way to make cucking normal and "deep".

You hate to see it

Now there's an idea. Do you think people looking to cheat intentionally look for "non-monogamous" people on dating apps?

If they're up front about it and seek out people into that same shit and agree to a relationship on those terms it isn't cheating. They may be and probably still are trashy people, though.

He wasn't talking about that, though. He was asking if a hypothetical dude wanted to cheat on his wife (no agreement, unethically, secretly) and went prowling on dating sites for his secret side piece, would he be smart to seek out "non-monogamous" people.

I would say fucking yes and it's a super common story on the poly reddit. It's also much easier and much less lying as you don't have to lie about your "other" life, being married, your whereabouts, etc. All you really have to lie about is two things "My wife agreed to my arrangement" and "my wife doesn't ever want to meet or talk to my girlfriend." It's much, much cleaner and your side piece will (hopefully) find other ways to fill her time when you aren't around.

Polyamorists are torn on the ethics of being the side chick this way - with some of them taking the side of "he's poly and his wife doesn't support him", "what she doesn't know won't hurt her", "his relationship is none of your business", and other nonsensical hot takes. Some of them treat it like a massive breach of trust (for the side chick, no the wife lol) or a huge breach of ethics, despite the lack of poly ethics.

Shit's hilarious.

I would say fucking no because you're getting into a relationship with a fucking crazy person. If she thinks your wife is okay with it she's going to stalk you on social media and not know to keep it a secret. And if she finds out she isn't, she now has a way of absolutely fucking you over when she goes into her crazy bunny boiler stage, which she will, because if she says she's poly, 99% of the time she's also a complete BPD nutcase who will go nuts on you.

Which is different from an average poly relationship how?

Did I say it was? If you have a life you don't want destroyed, don't get involved with this shit. Don't seek out poly crazy fucking cunts to cheat with your wife on. Don't seek out people to cheat with your wife on in general, but if you must, absolutely do not pick these freaks. Pick someone who is also married so you have a mutually assured destruction pact because you can fuck her right back if she decides to spill on you.
