Because children are damaging to a relationship if the people in it are immature. Childcare is expensive and difficult - generally speaking it's not uncommon for parents to not be able to do stuff together. It is common for one parent to stay with the kids and one to go and do something fun (play a game, sports night, whatever you're into) but very very rare for both parents to have time off together. Even if the child is sleeping and no one is working - there's always other stuff to do.

It's not uncommon for some level of distance to form this way - doubly so if one of your reoccurring activities has the same group of people in it. Your wife starts going to the gym three times a week and always bumps into the same guy, you run into the same girl at the bar when your team is playing, etc. It's how the seeds of infidelity form - because you're having positive interactions with these strangers and mostly negative ones at home.

Eventually poly creeps in because one of the parents will think "I've got this free time but I never see my partner. We don't date, barely talk, don't have sex" and think that it's the way to re-introduce all of that back into their life with the new schedule. That it's somehow going to be "OK" because their partner signed off on it - and they can do the same if they want!

They are also relationships that are harder to walk away from. Joint finances, kids, shared assets, etc - usually cheaters just dump the person they're cheating on when the new relationship is formed (not always, I know).

These comments are a trip.

"I had an ex with quite a lot of FWB plus me as a full partner. He had no hobbies, no sleep, and he was too stressed to take me out on dates. Also, "OP doesn’t get to decide how many partner’s their fiancé can have. If they have an actual relevant issue, they need to address that."

What a fuckin' world we live in, dude - That was my first thought, too.

Also, I love the cope "he never wanted kids, he just had a bad childhood and is making up for it!" Yeah ok, lady. Sounds like he found a woman that made him want a kid, cause all that seething about how she entrapped this guy is just so thin.

I've heard of several poly situations where the guy leaves his first wife or demotes her to secondary when he gets a little older and wiser and his first source of ovum has aged out of that possibility (or is cutting really close).

Funny, cause I'd have all sorts of sympathy for her if she was a woman married to a man where they'd always said "no kids"and he left her in their forties to knock up a co-ed. But she agreed to polyamory, so it's all out the window. She's a moron.

Shitty situation got into with shitty people but it sounds like that dude is realizing the joys of fatherhood and is paying more attention to the mother of his kid as a result. Perhaps realizing he likes the type of life a woman who gives him children provides. I wish you could be a fly on a wall because it seems like a legit baby trap scenario and those are always...interesting.

Here's to hoping against hope that the dude calls the poly thing quits, decides the mother of his child is it, takes the family man pill and raises his kid like a normie, never speaking of his past mistakes again.

That's a nice thought, but realistically, a woman who babytraps a married polyamorous cuck is probably not going to give anyone or anyone's kid a drama free life. Best he can do is pray whatever mental instability she has that made her pick him as her babydaddy isn't hereditary.

This isn't a Reddit Polyamory fail, but it popped up in my Instagram feed (my algorithm is totally fucked by the amount of lolcows I follow, hah)

This first one was literally too perfect

It's got so much in one video. A literal polyamorous cow furry is wheeling her obese husband's CPAP into that night's sleeping area. I wondered how fat this guy is, so I went to their page.

Also, they're literally all fat. I'm guessing it's the bald one that needs the breathing machine, but who knows. The one in the green bikini here has quite the gunt overhanging her bottoms.

Unfortunately, they have children. Four to be exact. And at least one is high in the running for "ugliest baby on the Internet" (and I follow Becky Gerber and her neanderthal child).

I generally consider myself pretty tolerant but the only thing these people should be sharing is a mass grave.

Kids who grew up in rainbow households are old enough to have self awareness now and with the amount of posts I see where the child hates their weird living situation I won’t be surprised if all these kids grow up either bullied to shit or completely fucked in the head.
