r/polyamory

Nope. They are young girls and guys who chose group sex, over, say ... a game of Risk or Monopoly.

Cute, isn't it?
Ironic you mention that given that their favorite hobby besides collecting STDs or pretending it isn't a fetish is board games. And there's already plenty of risk to be had without playing any games.

That sounds vaguely autistic actually.

To be honest, it is surprising that polyamory, with the woman taking in a multiman soup, works for anybody. If you want to play anthropologist for the day, the only societies that practice that, have reasons for it, and it is between two brothers. So the offspring inherit the grandparents genes, no matter what. Polyandry.

Polygamy seems to be different, for obvious reasons. But even that, is not particularly stable, since it results in an excess of single young men, in a winner takes it all scenario.

Tl;Dr

It is not surprising, in the least, that these folks are an odd lot, and that they have all this drama and heartbreak. Despite the invention of condoms, their behavior goes against our basic instincts and drives.

Polygamy tended to be practised in societies where there ended up being a shortage of men, one's in harsh environments where they would die hunting or cot death (males more likely to) and war. It was a way to keep birth rates up and to not leave too many women uncared for, it obviously falls apart when the ratio of men to women starts to equalize. I don't know how you could do it though, it takes work to maintain a healthy relationship with one person to not make them feel like a bit of furniture, these clowns above just don't want to put the effort in and think its easier to just keep a line of spares.

Again back to my theory that the rent is too damn high and people are just joining up in plural unions because there's no fucking money. Again also, I blame the boomers for fucking up our economy this badly. You get what you fucking deserve boomers, and you deserve an America full of tranny polygroups and social security collapsing because of it.

Not necessarily biological brothers - in China you could just "become someone's brother".
I recommend this book for people interested in the topic:

This thread, and forum, is proof that there is no shortage of people lacking in imagination when it comes to desperation.

I misread as "depression" and realized it works just as well if not better, in the same slot

Just like all those dudes' dongs in his lady's holes

this week in wildly selfish poly drama

Imagine finding out your parents gave you up for adoption so they could keep fucking your dad's wife without any complications like the child they gave birth to.
The fact that adopting the kid out is even being considered enough to ask for advice is horrifying, but I'm interested to know if OP's posted anything else about this relationship.

It's interesting that the only background she gives is that this couple has been married and trying to conceive for five years. Does she mention how long she's been involved with them anywhere? Was this a planned pregnancy? I could see this being an accident and the wife reacting badly to it, but this is r/polyamory so I could also see it as the husband and OP just deciding hey, let's have a kid without thinking it through. The way she says that they mentioned therapy and medication to the wife rubs me the wrong way, as does her saying she wants this woman to be a third parent. You really think, after trying to have her own kid for half a decade, that she's going to be totally fine helping raise the child her husband had with some skank who invaded her marriage?

Anyway, I highly doubt any of the people in this situation would be suitable parents. What's the comment section like?

Comments section is actually pretty reasonable, here is the recent update that answers some questions - spoiler alert: somehow everything unfolded in way that paints OP as the most morally superior person and victim of circumstance following some heavy criticism in the first post.

In lighter news, probably actual speds find sweaty throuple love

I can't tell at this point - are these all troons?

If I didn't know other infertile women who turn into raging alcoholics, I would think this bitch was lying about "Alyssa" putting her in a choke-hold for sympathy. Something about not being able to squeeze a baby out of your vag makes women go insane.

Her husband is having a child with someone else. He’s going to be giving less attention to her because he’ll be focused on the baby. She won’t be the one to make him a father—if you go on r/stepparents, second wives agonize over this to the point of tears. If she has a baby with him she’ll worry it’ll be less special because it’s not the first one. If they have a joint account, will her money be going toward the baby? Anyway, I hope she gets a divorce, realizes poly is a bad idea, and finds a new guy and successfully has kids with him. She’s 23 so she has time, and it could be that her issue is the husband (there are cases where neither the man nor woman have fertility issues by themselves, but their genes combined result in miscarriages).
