"Bourgeois marriage is in reality a system of wives in common and thus, at the most, what the Communists might possibly be reproached with, is that they desire to introduce, in substitution for a hypocritically concealed, an openly legalised community of women. For the rest, it is self-evident that the abolition of the present system of production must bring with it the abolition of the community of women springing from that system, i.e., of prostitution both public and private.” - Karl Marx

I see the DSA are continuing with their quest to show us all that they would have a hard time running a pissup in a brewery.

Can't organise a piss up while you're spending all your time on reddit telling everyone how great poly is and reading all the books required to convince yourself you're happy with your relationship.

Bitch wants what she can't have. You nagged him into letting you screw other guys then when he found someone better in every way you're regretting it.
This seems entirely too fake. "I henpecked my awesome man into an open marriage and now supermodels ten years younger than him are fucking him within minutes of being around his manly cock oh woe is me!" sounds more like a revenge fantasy than something that would happen in real life.

Depends how much she fucked up her calculations of the risk. The one wanting the open relationship is usually the one who's dating up and is deluded about it. Especially if it's the woman who actually believes she's gods gift because she had guys queuing up in high school but is now older. The guy on the other hand is older and more responsible, exactly the right type for the daddy issues college girls.

I'm not ruling out it being a creative writing piece (like half of reddit in general), but there are many of these that seem to come up and many are far less believable.

He found one girlfriend, not hordes of supermodels. That's a good deal more plausible than your bullshit summary above.

They want oppression points so bad :story:

I agree, and if it’s true I really wonder what would make a mother of a one year old want to fuck other men and have her husband fuck other women. It seems deranged, like as a mother of a small child you’re dependent on a good father

Arrested development (not the show) and other mental health issues. But mostly people not realising that you can't act like you're in your teens and twenties for your entire life, especially if you've got what most people would consider a family. That ship has sailed.

You'd think both people would be fighting as hard as possible for the sake of their kid but lol no, cooming stops for noone and how dare you say otherwise. I'm pleased that none of the people I know that are into this have any kids in the mix but am quietly horrified that some desperately want to change that ASAP.

Bumping the thread so other people can suffer with me:

I found a "Naked VampFae Polyamorous Witch"

Here's how she got famous:

I mean, do we need to say it again? If your partner asks to open the relationship or they come out as polyamorous, dollars to donuts they're already cheating or in the process of cheating. The first time they so much as ask, break it off.
Same thing if they ask for a break where you're allowed to see other people. They're bored with you and want to fuck someone else, but too chickenshit to end it.
well someone has to work to pay the bills and fucking around hardly pays them unless you live in the Thottery world, which most don't because they see themselves as "higher than that" while being dumber by not making dough from it.

I brought it up earlier in this thread, but I really wonder if harem anime has poisoned some people's perception of relationships. I'm not talking about people who just watch it for fun/as a guilty pleasure and that's it. But there are people who seem to take away from them that if you're an average dude you can totally get a smorgasboard of hot chicks and it's normal. I've known some people like that.

I used to be naive and think "oh, it's just a different relationship style that works for some people". Now I'm just jaded (partly from personal experience) and every time I see someone on social media mention poly I just think "gross" in my mind. Call me pessimistic but this thread shows how dysfunctional it all is.

I saw some pages shared from a manga called Hare Kon. The art looked nice and the male love interest looked kind of handsome. I hadn't read a full on romance manga in forever so I tried it. The plot was apparently about a "Hare Kon", aka a legal polygamous marriage system a fictional Japanese town was doing. The main female lead got pulled into one against her better judgement to pay off a family debt. You know how it goes. I guess the comic does go into the relationships between her, the husband and the other two wives and their feelings on it but I haven't read super far. Wasn't interested in such a plot. Plus the male lead was a prick. The marriage system was supposedly to combat low birth rates, but why not just, you know, advocate for more couples getting married and having kids? They never mentioned any gender gap between men and women so it makes little sense. Also obviously it was "one husband and up to four wives." Women couldn't just have more than one husband. It's a little off topic for this thread but polygamous marriages with one (usually male) head of household bug the shit out of me. Props for a different take on a romance drama/love quadrangle but no thanks for glorifying that sort of thing.

I think the majority it's just not being able to interpret their own natural urges of being attracted to someone else while in a relationship mixed in with being unable to distinguish between friendship and a relationship.

That or people who just want to fuck around but want to be oh so superior so slap a fancy label on it and pretend it's a working relationship rather than a disappointing orgy where the participants won't fuck off afterwards.

Only, historically, that's the only way any of this has ever, ever worked. No culture on earth, save maybe some tiny African tribe with a huge male death rate, has practiced polyandry. That isn't a coincidence.
