Go read through the first two dozen pages of this thread at least. But a short summary would be: people don't tend to like it because of its intentional design as a heavy-handed political statement. The awful writing hidden by the excellent prose, and obvious bias for the paths that the devs personally like. Characters being written to act in ways they weren't like at all in the real world As well as the nonsensical story elements that exist to say "What I don't like is bad." While at the same time trying to be a serious political commentary. People have also expressed distaste for the highly railroaded story, calling it a visual novel. If you like it that's fine, but why people dislike the mod has been reiterated over and over throughout this thread. Even if it's long as fuck.

Given they have dozens of teams working various areas there is no reason they shouldn't be fixing bugs relating to England, Italy, etc. Of course this would be the case if 90% of a respective team did squat because they felt it was below them.
Coding,writing,programming etc all done by part time,unpaid modders, it will take a while and they can go at whatever pace they like.
Not according to dev-team leads, it's crunch time or it gets the hose again.

A lot of what the mod is today was created mostly because of people in the dev team bullying each other and deliberately shitcanning content (it is common for some devs to be kicked along with their work getting removed). Politics plays a bigger role in its creation than a genuine desire to make something engaging to play.
