The leftist warlords in the Iberian Wars are similar, in that the Orthodox Communists were meant to be tripped up, while other flavors of leftism were among the best paths in narrative. That was also a Pacifica project (throwing it together is apparently how they ended up in a position of team leadership in the first place), so it might be on ice forever now as well.

I suspect the new Syndie Spain will be like this in Kaiserreich, all the massacres of nuns, etc. thrown onto Totalists while the RadSocs and Syndies are wholesome 100.

I still find it hard to believe that THIS much shit happened over a mod for a strategy game.
To recapitulate some of the things that happened, this thread made in order to talk about and document a shitty mod for Hoi4 has 216 pages that talk about:
-grooming of minors
-pedphilia
-suicide threats
-trannies seething over the russkies
-turks seething over everyone else
-internet alliances breaking and forming in the span of a few hours
-the sneedclave fucking shit up
- the HOI4 UN of modders coming together to decide TNO's fate
And those are just a few things, because I'm sure a lot more stuff happened but it's just that I decided to erase it from my memory.

The only thing I can say in conclusion is...
I just wanted to play videogames for god's sake.

No mod team seems safe from this autism.

TT was Fred's pet project. All of the mechanics were developed by him and a small team of seven handpicked developers, and it was the only update he actively contributed to - in contrast, the other three updates were mostly just run by the respective developers assigned to them, with Pacifica being mostly uninvolved in their development.

The update getting scrapped and reworked because it wasn't good enough (according to OPAsian, current dev) pretty much erases everything Fred accomplished during his short tenure as the lead developer. It'd be tragic, if it wasn't so funny.

All because Freddy got upset someone found a portrait of himself in the mod files in an Anarchist uniform.

It went from old Freddie accusing the Redux mod of trying to dox him to the Redux getting nuked to Freddie being doxxed to someone leaking the entirety of the old TNO Dev chats to people digging through those chats and finding someone with an amputation fetish to that someone apparently being a 17 year old Freddie and the others were trying to groom and making sexualized posts and art about them. All in the span of like what-1 month?

We need a timeline fully fleshed out for this TNO drama.

That's what I've heard on the grape-vine, and I think its true. Spain is being developed by the guy who did Patagonia, where that's essentially what happens. (There's a Rad-Soc faction for Patagonia that also has content relating towards anti-Clericalism, but it doesn't even allude to massacres of clergy and whatever else, much less have it play out in events.)

Only did one run as Patagonia as the one RadSoc group that basically restores Argentina so I assume you mean on of the other RadSoc factions that can take power. I assume the excuses will be something about not wanting to portray war crimes regardless.

agreed. but talking about TNO. I always hated the fact that Japan owns Hawaii and some treaty ports on the mainland. it doesn't make any sense that Japan would be able to reinforce ports on the American mainland let alone Hawaii. IIRC 4chan Redux is only making Hawaii a demilitarized zone. but I wonder what the OG TNO devs were thinking. was it a "look at the mighty eagle fall to the Japanese" or what?
