That's even worse tbh. The holocaust and slavery were two intertwined systems. Selektion (i.e. discriminating between those who can work and those who can't with the latter being exterminated) was an intrisic part of the system. You'd expect that at least one of the devs had opened The wages of destruction .

Slavery itself was more a pragmatic forced labor system, of which the conditions got worse the more desperate they got towards the end of the war. To think that it is some ideological point for the nazis is simply wrong.

Similar fear as mine. As for Norway, there goes the half asked Scandinavia rework they barely focused on, and judging from the politics of monarchists I am betting the only way to restore Haakon is a right wing quasi fascist group aligned with Germany, ignoring Norway having democratic traditions and the reason Haakon became king in the first place was they elected him king once they detached from Sweden. Also they killed off Quisling off hand before the game starts according to one comment, so they are trying to justify the monarchists taking the PatAut slot instead of AuthDem or something.

I have mix feelings, what made Kaisereich Russia interesting was that it was a political simulator. That if Kaiserreich had a theme or a moral at all, if intentional or otherwise, is that History is yours to shape and can go anywhere in any direction. You just need a Kerensky assassination like event to make it so. Very different from TNO original intended moral of the end of history is inevitable. I could understand if this came about from some sort of a agreement from kaiserredux just to make the two mods more distinct from each other, but that is not the case. Ultimatly it feels like Kaiserreich is butchering it's very character of what made it special.

Astutely put, I worry about how they will treat the White Generals. The Russia teaser already shows Savinkov forcing Kornilov into retirement and take blame for the assassination of some Kerensky prodigy, who is to say they won't make him purge the white General staff, even though Hitler never purged the general staff.

The fact that was ever an event confirms my belief that HoI4 users (and reddit lefty types in general) all see people as two dimensional characters good or bad. This only makes sense from the perspective of the Eternal Swede, where confederates and nazi's are both evil so clearly they're on the same team. Even though Nazi's were totalitarian whereas the confederates wanted less (federal) government intervention if anything, making them damn near direct opposites to fascists. If you purely judge political beliefs based on a single good-evil axis, those who want to genocide a specific minority and those who support the continued enslavement of a certain minority are right next to eachother.

Something interesting I noticed in Youtube videos of a Yockey playthrough is that the TNO staff REALLY do not understand Yockey in the slightest. They basically rip on his writing style and Spenglerian views on geopolitics without actually addressing the fact that the man was inclined to work with Communists against Liberal Capitalism as a sort of "lesser evil". The man would've made for a good character who unites the entire NPP under some kind of Nazbol deal if America screws up enough. Instead you get "NOOOOOOO HE'S RACIST AND HAS RIOT COPS AND SOUTHERN PEOPLE WORKING FOR HIM".

I truly hate how "alternative history" is so boringly predictable the moment you pin down the author's ideology. I.e. People like Kennedy and Nixon still going straight for the seat of president instead of someone else. George Lincoln Rockwell, Yockey, Speer, etc becoming SCARY FUHRER after some generic thuggery. It really goes to show how little vision and creative spirit these people have. They're stuck in that Francis Fukayama end of history meme. They're guided by dogma, so in a word, autistic.
