Plagued /r/TNOmod and the Reddit HOI4 modding community - When a subreddit for a video game mod turns to utter insanity

KXtards will find any reason to suck off a crappy submod collection lol. The idea of supressing uprisings in certain areas is not unique at all to KX.
I like KX but unfortunately it runs like shit so I only use it to play a specific path that’s unique to KX

Can we get back to talking about TNO? What are your thoughts on TT?
Should've released in March or April, at the latest.

Dosen't really add anything of value for your average hoi4 player, unless you count minigames and an economy screen to be of interest for people.

Personally, I haven't played TNO with the TT update enough to give an actual review of its various additions to the superpowers. I'll leave that to others.

The economy screen seems like just one more way to jerk off to Keynesianism. It's not even fully simulated, it's basically a meaningless sea of numbers moved up and down by a tiny handful of variables. And it wouldn't matter much anyway since most of the economic problems countries have are scripted. As a German you can't change your fate no matter how smart your fiscal policy is, because Fascists have to lose no matter what.

The reworked Proxy conflicts are good. The whole game should have been basically just that. Fighting over Malaya and the Philippines were one of the better moments of my USA game.
And the economy system is unnecessarily complicated. I had to literally look up the code to realise that there is a one year cooldown for investing liquid reserves.
And it's hilarious how the video tutorial GUI has not been modified for TNO even in the NSB patch.

Forgive me for this pop culture comparison but whenever I'm going through the hoi4 discord servers I'm feeling like Jack Skelington at that place with the trees with the holiday doors. Kaiserredux is eternal Christmas while Red World fanfork is eternal gay month.

Good to see you back.
Victoria 2 alt-history is fun as you can actually do politicking, because thats a main part of the game. People for some reason can't accept that all HoI4 is good for is war sims, and then modders try to make it the lamest economy simulator ever
Indeed, It feels like a lot of them are ashamed of hoi4 but don't want to take the difficult task of modding vicky II for their alt hist political fantasies that don't revolve around fighting a world war,

War sims and alt-history fiction visual novels.

I actually love playing HOI4 mods as obscure countries that are modded by modders from said country or nearby to get a taste of what they consider alt-history for their country. Even when it's really off-base it's still an interesting look into a particular modder's mindset.

A lot of the south american ones are really cool.

South America is crazy enough that some of the weirder meme paths seem normal.

From what little I played of the TNO Brazil Submod it was pretty cool.

Kaiserreich's SA nations are a bit lacking in polish aside from Argentina and Brazil, but still fun.

Any other suggestions?

I mostly play vanilla nation mods. These are all a bit outdated but Better South America, Argentina+, and Curse of Huitzilopotchtli were all interesting. Not the same level of content or ahistoricality in every one of them but they have neat flavor.

Why can't TNO's dev team learn that its most fun and recommended paths always happen to involve more wars than the rest ?
Göring's Germany, pretty much all Russian Unifiers and Long Yun's Yunnan for example.
Most people can only read so much events. It's almost as if HOI4 is a war game.

And there is something I have always wondered about Kaukasien that would fit like a glove with TNO's flaws and all.
What happened to the planned Reichskommissar of Kaukasien, Arno Schickedanz ? In TNO, we have le mad king "reigning" Kaukasien like nothing ever happened.
Arno is not even that boring of a person in TNO-perspective. As far as my minor research went, he was friends with fellow Baltic German Alfred Rosenberg (with Arno being Latvian and Alfred being Estonian) by 1910 in the erstwhile Russian Empire, and harboured the same esoteric beliefs as him later on.
In a nutshell, I'm just confused how he is absent without even a mention let alone an explanation in TNO, while every other remaining Reichskommissariat in Europe is still ruled by their respective planned Reichskommissar as of 1962.

And also, there is this gem

Most hoi4 mod devs in general are from what I've seen are mostly either American, British, Russian, Chinese, or Brazilians. They are some from places like Spain, Portugal, France, Turkey, Japan,Italy, Armenia, Ukraine, Malaysia, Indonesia, much of the middle east and Portugal,
The Kaiserreich devs are mostly like what Corpun said.
And their fanbase treats their depiction of historical figures like an absolute truth gospel. It's fucking embarrassing seeing them run around and try to talk about obscure c list historical figures when all they know about them is a flimsy far from true depiction from a video game mod.

Imagine hating a literal who figure from over half a centruy ago due to an exaggerated version of him in a mod.
Wait a second" turning poor Niggerinos into Glue " is that event they unironically have in Kaiserreich?
Yes. He is also anti-Polio Vacciene and causes a Polio epidemic (despite the vaccine being a decade away when he can take power), puts blacks in labor camps, turns it into a WASP nationstate. They basically too all the leftist wet dreams of what le evul reactionary is and threw them on a literal who schizoid screenwriter who thought Hitler was cool.
And is the Middle East updates worth checking out?
It's in Redux too. The redux team regularly adds base game content so long as it doesn't mess up redux stuff.

Hereditary Reactionary is a term that comes up with a Nazbol path in Komi in TNO, I think that's why he brought it up. First results for it on Google go to TNO's Reddit.
Didn't Engels or someone from the First International believed in and wrote about "reactionary races"? Still, it's weird seeing cypher quote TNO with those very cringe emojis.
